I hate this gbemiga from the onset of this story......he even used condom before going....this is not a mistake, he did it out of his own selfish interest.

Career / The Silent Thief Of Sight by holuwaseunpat(f): 10:24am On Mar 17, 2017
GLAUCOMA: THE SILENT THIEF OF SIGHT
Glaucoma affects the eyes.it's a condition that causes damage to the optic nerve of the eyes ,following the build up of pressure in the eyes.
The increased intraocular pressure can damage the optic nerve which transmits image to the brain. If the damage continues ,it can lead to permanent vision loss ,if it's left untreated, glaucoma can cause permanent blindness within few years
Risk Factors
-Increased intraocular pressure (greater than 21mmhg)
-Family history of glaucoma
-Migraine
-High blood pressure
-Obesity
-Prolonged use of steroids
-Ocular trauma
-Conditions that restrict blood flow to the eyes e. g. Diabetic retinopathy.
-Poor vision
-Ethinicity: Asian, African, Irish etc
-Shortsightedness and farsightedness
Symptoms :
~Most people don't have any symptoms, but others may have:
~Loss of peripheral or side vision
~Loss of vision
~Nausea and vomiting
~Eye pain
~Narrowed vision
~Seeing halos around light
~Eye redness
~Hazy eyes
Diagnosis :
Through examination of your eyes by eyes doctor.
A test called tonometry(to check eye pressure), Central visual field etc... can be done.
Prevention:
Most of the things that makes you likely get glaucoma are beyond your control, but a comprehensive eye examination can help in early diagnosis.
Treatment :
*Use of medications e. g eyedrops.
*Surgical procedures e. g trabeculectomy etc
Note:With glaucoma, lost vision can't be restored, but sticking to the treatment plan and reducing the eye pressure can preserve the sight.FROM NURSES FORUM

The best way to relieve painful menstrual cramps is to take an anti-inflammatory medication. Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) inhibit the formation of prostaglandins and reduce pain and inflammation. Ibuprofen (Advil is a familiar brand name), naproxen (Aleve, Naprosyn), and ketoprofen (Orudis) are available over-the- counter and without a prescription, and are effective at blocking the effects of prostaglandins.
These medications work better if taken before the start of menstruation and can be continued as long as needed. If one type of OTC medication does not relieve the pain, try another, because these medications do not work the same in everyone. Anti-inflammatory medicine such as these can be harsh on the stomach. If the woman has a history of kidney problems or stomach problems (such as ulcers or reflux), consult with the health care professional prior to taking this type of medication. Taking the medication with meals may help prevent upset stomach. If anti-inflammatory medicine is not an option, or if additional relief is needed, the following strategies may help relieve menstrual cramps: Heating pad laid over the pelvic area Massage to the back and low abdomen Exercise , especially prior to the start of a menstrual period may be helpful to some women.
