Google keyboards does the job just fine..i was totally dissapointed in the keyboard after trying it out. I guess it has to have some form of customization drawing people to it.. But its not for me at all.

VERY EASY NA.u don't need to root b4 u change imei. use MTK Engineering tools from play store

Welcome to India where they have good network so they don't bother about 2G/3G Your only solution is to use MTK engineering to put it on 3G permanently which is what I did.

Open MTK Engineering mode app then goto Android settings then Phone Information then from select preferred network type, just change it to WCDMA only.

Indian ROM is not a Custom ROM. It's a Stock ROM from Gionee. No custom ROM for Gionee M5 for now

I changed to indian rom, how come it doesn't have 3G only under preferred network type?

I do the same as you many times with 2 different TWRP for M5 but not TWRP installed.
Till i found a post.

Flash the TWRP as you do before with SP after the green window don't disconnect or power on the mobile just keep it as and repeat the flash twice (two times) after disconnect it and boot on recovery mode.
I don't have the explanation for that its appear no logical..... but it work.
