Anayordike: Too bad Etisalat got itself into such dubious activities. I wanted to know if etisalat will work with my bb so I subscribed for the daily plan. It didn't work. I called their cc they told me I subscribed to voice data plan. Since then they have been deducting 100 Naira from my account. When I complained again to their cc one of them told me that to opt out I must dial *399*2# and I have to pay N100. I got annoyed and throw away the sim and got myself another at the rate of N200. That ends the matter. Throw away the sim and replace it with another sim for N100. u need not throw the sim away.use this code to opt out: *244*2# |

unclesamtech: How do I Recover a Dead BlackBerry ?
When your device fails to start, it shows one of these symptoms
A. Totally dead Physical damage, water is the worst enemy of delicate electronic device. Try to hardware.
B. Trying to restart, LED activity only. Your device is not able to start, something has gone wrong and the OS is corrupt.
C. Failed to start, a white screen with an error message. Geeks call this an "Uncaught exception error". That is a polite way of saying, the last thread has terminated, the OS has halted because it is corrupt.
In many cases, the Application Loader can be used from Desktop Manager or Windows, If that fails to connect, there is one final solution.
A. In order to restore the device, you need to have BlackBerry Desktop Manager installed. The original, as supplied on the BlackBerry CD is adaquite. Tip: If you choose to download the newest v4xx, you can save a lot of time by choosing custom install and disabling Roxio Media Manager. At start-up, it really slows things down until it has built up it index of media.
B. After it is installed, you need to install a BlackBerry OS file that is specific to your device. The original version, as supplied by the carrier, is the safe choice, but you can use any model specific version. This is not supplied on your BlackBerry CD.
C. Once the OS has been installed, you have to prepare it for the device. Delete the vendor.xml file located in c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader
D. You are now ready to restore your device. Verify that BlackBerry Desktop Manager is NOT running. Plug the device directly into the computer's USB port. am having problem reloadin the os Of 9900.I got stucked at re-connecting to JVM

aboyaji: and the name of the phone is nokia e71-1 Thanks. honsule: you dont need cer n key.use this method:
1- Copy folder from qarantine.zip into E:\Private (memory card on most phones, MASS memory on N97 and other) (for example by mass storage connection of phone to PC, impossible in phone itself) 2 - Intall antivirus Dr.Web to E:\ drive 3 - Install ROMPatcher+ 3.1 Lite (better on C:\ - to phone) 4 - Run antivirus, Cancel the key error 5 - Options >>> Quarantine >>> Options >>> Select All >>> Restore 6 - Run ROMPatcher+, apply patches WOW! h@ck is done

Akainzo: DM 6.1 is not made to handle 7.0 OSs, you need a minimum of 6.2 to properly manage the 7 series OS. As of now, do not download the very latest DM i.e 7.0 as it is ful of bugs. Download 6.2 and you would have a better experience.
Or if you are inclined, download BBSAK 1.7 or BB Boss, though I personally prefer DM. find it difficult to get 6.2.Am downloading 7.0 I will try all what u suggested.Thankz.I will keep u posted |

coogar: i have had this same problem before and i was stuck @ this same junction. all i remembered doing was uninstalling my desktop manager, reinstalled a new one and i did it all over again with a better internet connection speed. it went past jvm and i scaled through. maybe i will download another DM.But i doubt if that will help.moreover, even without DM u can install any OS and run it thru apploader and install the os on ur BB.i have tried it out on my 9800 Torch.Using apploader is faster compare to DM.Moreover i have tried using airtel 3G to reload the os,but all to no avail |

THIS GUY'S TESTIMONY GIVES ME A RAY OF HOPE 'For the last 3 weeks my Bold 9900 was dead, woke up one morning and the led was flahing and the screen was black, tried everything but nothing worked. Almost everyday I tried updating the OS but it stuck on ‘Reconnecting to JVM’ every time. Today, I downloaded the Leaked .540 OS and tried it again…and again it stuck on ‘ Reconnecting to JVM’ so I pulled the battery, waited till the Led turned off and pressed ‘Try Again’ and put the battery back in…couple of seconds later the keyboard lights lit up and the phone started to boot and the OS install continued and finished…the 9900 is now up and running! Really dont know what triggered it to let me update the OS this time…but it works! So it is a software issue and it is fixable.' |

coogar: uninstall your desktop manager and reinstall with the updated one.
leaked version of operating system does not always work with all devices - different network providers use different software version bundle. users just do trial and error. . . . .i once downloaded 7.0.0.585 for my 9810 and i couldn't use the keyboard, the screen froze and i had to downgrade.
so if it's not allowing you to upgrade to a newer version of software bundle, you can go a step backward. these bundles are mostly a facade, the Unclad eye won't really notice the difference. so go back to 7.0.0.296 if you cannot go past 7.0.0.585. the only os that manage to display the hourglass is this:7.0.0.296 But still stucked @ re-connecting to JVM |
Phones › Re: What Is The Difference Between Bb9700/9900 by honsule(mod): 9:56pm On Feb 24, 2012 |
Akainzo: Honsule, follow this process and I am sure your 9900 would come alive again. 1. Download and install the the Desktop Manager version 6.2 2. Install any of the 7.0 OSs that is higher than the stock OS onto your PC locally. 3. Start DM 4. Re-boot your Phone and while it is on the JVM screen, connect it to the computer via USB 5. On the DM screen, It would display 'Inability to communicate with device' 6. Select UPGRADE to install the local OS onto the phone.
All the best am using 6.1 DM. the problem is not about an os being stucked.all the 7 OSs i downloaded, when loading it,i get stucked in re-connecting to JVM. You cant re-boot the fone na.it flashes just red light.Take a look @ this pix

texazzpete: The 9900/9930 bricking issue is a known issue. Even RIM has acknowledged it. For cases like Honsule's, there's nothing the user can do. In saner climes RIM will replace the phone for free. In Nigeria, you're on your own. My research so far,i discovered about 4 pple were able to revived theirs using this os: 'find a leaked version of 7.0.0.540 (this is a MUST) and install it' i downloaded d OS it didnt work for me. am always stucked at re-connecting to JVM.Can't go further |

coogar: used your desktop manager to back up and restore. . . .your fone would come out new. it's a very minor issue or a manufacturer's error. It is not as easy as u think. In loading the OS am stucked permanently in re-connecting to JVM.i have tried all d tweaks i know, but to no availed |

Gsmxpert: From that step waiting for phone, you are suppose to remove the phone from cable completly and insert battery phone should boot up with error 503 then you connect and click retry, it will automatically continue and complete.
If from that step you remove and insert but you still get a only a red blink then you have a hardware problem. something is wrong with ZZ23M, battery control ic, phone is not getting enuf power from battery. could this be d problem?let me try harder first. But can u fix the battery control ic? |
