Lana1:Lol. Fraud no be only by yahoo. |
Greatihex:Fixed. |
Please how many goals has Hazard scored. Is hazard wearing no 11 in white? I'm not seeing the usual ikebe super twerking. |
CodeTemplar:This one is forever worshiping the Bishop. So much so he is deaf, dumb, mute, to the obvious error. He cannot see, sense, hear, feel anything since it his lord & master at the center of a huge gaffe. Any small thing this one will pull out Matt 23.23 fir Amy small argument about tithe. When will this one ever have sense or a mind of his own? Then he will go and call his attack dog fundamentalist al-baghdadi to back him up. |
If at this point one cannot differentiate between Law and the finished works of Christ, I cannot help you. I'm pretty much sure that the Law was given to the Jews alone. I'm pretty sure that you had to undergo certain denunciations as a foreigner to be able to follow the Law. I'm pretty sure that there was a reason for the veil separating the inner court from the holy of holies being torn the moment Christ died. I'm pretty sure that Hebrews tells us of a new priesthood that arose after the resurrection of Christ. So anyone telling me to tithe because Jesus didnt condemn it (even when he also didnt endorse it either) can go ahead and do what they like. The truth is somewhere in the fact that we as Christians are no longer under the obligation to observe the Law as far as Christ has risen from the grave. And that includes tithing. Uncle jesusjnr, please what does tithing represent post-resurrection? Please do not use Matthew 23:23. Christ clearly didnt take a position on tithing there. He neither condemned it nor endorsed it.If you cannot do better than Matt 23:23 then admit you have no answer to the question. |
dermmy:He obviously doesnt. It's pretty much a waste of time debating anything of note with the fellow. If he had any sense of what he was talking about, he would realize that prior to the coming of Christ, the Law was what made us right with God. It's clear he doesnt even understand what he professes. Even the scripture he quoted were out of context (as usual). Bro I advise you to ignore the fellow. It's a waste of time at this point. |
dermmy:Lol. I'm still waiting for an answer. I'll probably not get it. Let me even go with the passage he quoted about teaching others what he taught them. So did Christ teach his disciples to tithe?since according to him, Christ didnt stop people from paying tithe. I only noticed that from Acts of the Apostles nobody was saying anything about tithing throughout these books post-resurrection. So it must mean they were disobeying Christ, abi? Lol. He still refuses to use context in reading Matt 23:23, just like each liar that holds that passage up as a defence for post-resurrection tithing. And the context is simply wrapped around the fact that Christ is the end of the Law. So uncle jesusjnr, Tell is what the role of tithing post-resurrection is. Tell is whether or not we should tithe, given that Christ's death and resurrection gave rise to a new priesthood which is the custodian to the new order of fellowship with God. |
jesusjnr:Sorry but you bear the name Jesus but you hardly even know him The root of Christ's message was love, first for God, then for fellow humans, regardless of whatever, even unto your enemies. That is why he taught people against revenge. More so, you are ignoring the fact that the Law became obsolete the minute Christ died as the perfect sacrifice for the redemption of man unto God. You haven't answered my question about what tithing does for me post-resurrection. Since you say Christ never condemned it. |
dermmy:Nah it's not me. Its simple logic. If Christ is God, who supposedly gave the children of Israel the Law, then it would be ironic that he is knocking the very same thing he asked you to do. It is all about context. People who rush to Matt 23:23 never apply it in it's full context. Like I said in my post, Christ is the end of the Law. The only way to fulfill the Law and all its ordinances and obligations (including tithing) is to believe in Christ as the savior and accept his Lordship, simply because on our own, our righteousness is useless before God. For me it's that simple. Thank you too. |
jesusjnr:I was going with your flow till you forgot to mention that the era in which Christ was speaking was that of the Law. Till he died it was still in effect. So he couldn't outrightly condemn it. But if you believe that Christ is the end of the Law, you cannot endorse tithing for any reason as it is, weightier matter or not. Like the person you're responding to has said, you can never be justified by the works of the Law before God. Observing anything that is in the Law is negating the death and resurrection of Christ. And why is Matthew 23:23 the only place where Christ ever mentions tithing? It's because he knew that it was only a matter of time before it would become obsolete, along with the ordinances of the law. Christ constantly berated the Pharisees for their inability to lead the people to true worship, instead placing several burdens on them, one of which was tithing. I believe you are also aware that in the old testament there were sections of people who weren't supposed to tithe. But the essence of tithing had been lost by these Pharisees who always insisted on it,even down to the tiniest of plants. And if I may ask, to what purpose is paying of tithe to the follower of Christ, post-resurrection?. Simple answer please. |
silverlord:The muppet lost me when he said you could get drunk on water. What won't we see here on Nairaland? Ignoramuses posing as intelligent people. They define what wine is, you still see people arguing against themselves and trying to leverage stupeed positions. |
Maestro21:Funny enough, I was reading through her diatribe, trying to understand her direction. Then I read your post and it all became clear in an instance. That x,y,z do it does not make it right. All that blazay about honorarium and stuff, is grossly irrelevant and totally out of the point. As it is when talking with Christian folk. The Bishop lied. And misquoted scripture. For what reason, I can't say. But he is guilty of misrepresenting the bible. The issue here is, Benny Hinn has started puncturing holes in the type of gospel that the Bishop and his cohorts seem to base their doctrine upon. He has stated facts, even if his repentance may have yet to be seen outwardly, and instead of fans of the Bishop and his cohorts to agree that he more likely than not could have been guilty of propagating a fraudulent message (purposely or otherwise), they are here making middle grounds and excuses. Until we tell ourselves the bitter truth, we will go nowhere. We have to tell ourselves that Christ NEVER promised anyone earthly comfort. In this world you shall have tribulations, but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world. The words of Christ himself. Not any apostle who came to know him. Until we learn to accept that cold hard fact, and depend entirely on God for our sustenance, we will continue to be a laughing stock, a punch-line factory and a source of humor to the world. |
OkCornel:Wondering why nobody wants to touch this hot-potato of a question you have up there. The answer is a big fat NO. Anyone who says otherwise is a liar and a fraud. Job was hedged from attack by God till the devil thought he could prove a point by asking God to allow him attack him. It's that clear and simple. A billion reasons on those mammon-driven pulpits exist as to why Job was attacked. One floozy Christ embassy dimwit who despite all her noise couldn't even graduate with a 3rd class degree told me once that Job lost his fortune because he said "For the thing which I greatly feared is come upon me, and that which I was afraid of is come unto me" Job 3:25. It's the idiocy that is propagated from these pulpits. |
OLAADEGBU:When will your inherent stewpidity ever leave you? So the promise of tithing (earthly riches and prosperity) suddenly has vanished into thin air, and tithes and offerings are now taken into isolation? Oga, just keep quiet, while people are gradually coming to their senses. The brainwash trip is slowly coming to its end. People are waking up. Benny Hinn has been at the forefront of this warped gospel where there is emphasis on financial investment. Now our own pastors have taken it too far. Instead of you to shut your trap, you come here, trying to extricate those mammon driven frauds from the malaise they have plunged Christianity into. You are a fraud. |
afrodoc2:They can dish it out but they can't take it. Hypocrites. Even after the Southampton game, they were still trolling. But when you drop a 2-goal half time lead against a promoted team at home with the equalizer coming via an own goal in the dying minutes, that's the kind of response you get. Abeg do you have more AC/DC, Nirvana to just lace this sunday up. who says Jah is not good? When your enemies are rejoicing over a draw, dem no know say dia own dey come. |
