"What happened to my mother?" I asked

" I want to know what she did" I said holding her hands, i was crying.

"It's okay, I will tell you" she said wiping off my tears with the edge of her blouse

"… but I won't be the only one to do so, there's someone else who knows it better than I do".

A young girl is bent on finding the truth about her mother, the reason why her guardian won't let her have what she wants.

THE WALL BETWEEN tells the story of Hiqmat. Her mother died few hours after her birth , she won't get what she wants because her mother made a mistake.

EPISODE 1

It rained heavily in the morning, the potholes on the road had water in them which formed a dirty pond. I walked careful around them, trying to avoid the mud from touching my feet which was almost impossible.

I walked through the dwarf gate into a small bungalow. It was the oldest in the neighborhood, painted with caramel, hibiscus flowers were planted around the house and little flower pots with no flowers in them hanged on the wall.

"Granny!... " I kept screaming as I walked into the sitting room, I had a white paper in my hand. I had just returned from the cafe where I had gone to check my results. WAEC had just released the results before then.

Granny who was in the kitchen came out holding a towel with both hand, " What again Hiqmat?" she asked with hands akimbo.

" I got 2As, 4Bs and 2Cs, I passed WAEC", I said in excitement, I was really excited. I studied hard for my exams by waking up at nights.

"Wow! Congratulations my daughter, your late night studies weren't in vain, and that is a good news", she said while returning to the kitchen.

I felt impressed myself, "I'm going to the University, I want to be an architect....", I said and paused trying to figure out If Granny knows who an architect is "did you know there are few female architects in Nigeria?" I asked limping behind her, Granny gave me a long stare which meant "I am not impressed".

CelebritiesMan Wrongfully Convicted Of Rape After Spending 45 Years And Ten Months Says "I by hotest9ja(op): 7:31am On Nov 17, 2017
A 65-year-old Louisiana man who was wrongly jailed at the age 19 without parole walked out of prison on Wednesday, after his rape conviction was overturned by a judge. According to reports, Wilbert Jones was arrested on suspicion of abducting a nurse at gunpoint from a Baton
Rouge hospital's parking lot and raping her behind a building on the night of Oct. 2, 1971.

The nurse, who died in 2008, picked Jones out of a police lineup more than three months after the rape. Jones was convicted of aggravated rape at a 1974 retrial and sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.   On Wednesday, State District Judge Richard Anderson overturned his conviction saying authorities withheld evidence that could have exonerated Wilbert Jones decades ago and their case against him was “weak at best,”. “Freedom. After more than 45 years and ten months. That’s going through my mind,” Jones said as he hugged his brother, Plem Jones, and other relatives outside the gates of the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison.

Speaking to journalists, he said: "Most of my life was taken away from me for something I didn't do. I feel wonderful and I thank God for this opportunity," Jones said. "And I thank God for this legal team." According to him, he holds no resentment against the harsh sentence. Doing all that time was “very difficult. I forgave. I forgive,” Jones said. “I didn’t have control of it. Why should I worry about it? I’m in charge of myself.”   On his plans for the day, he told them he would be enjoying a long-awaited meal of gumbo and potato salad with his family.  His brother, Plem Jones, said he's always known this meal would come.

"I might have missed (only) one or two visits while he was there. We'd sit and talk and cry together," Plem Jones said. "I never gave up on him. I knew that he didn't do it, so it was only a matter of time. I just didn't know when.
