There have been online claims suggesting that former U.S. President Donald Trump is not aligned with Iranian opposition figure Reza Pahlavi, the son of the late Shah of Iran. Some commentators allege that Trump has been engaging with alternative Iranian figures regarding future leadership discussions. However, there is no official confirmation that he has formally endorsed or rejected Pahlavi. Reza Pahlavi has publicly stated in interviews that he believes he has significant support among segments of the Iranian population, particularly among protesters critical of the current Iranian government. During various protests inside Iran, some demonstrators have been recorded chanting slogans referencing the former monarchy. Trump has also made public remarks criticizing Iranians. He told them they have to behave. There is tendency that trump may conflict with Iranians.

It is difficult to imagine an outcome where the conflict ends without being seen as a strategic victory for the US and Israel. The US and Israel have achieved what many considered impossible eliminating Khamenei while maintaining control of Iranian airspace. It is also widely reported that a significant portion of the Iranian government and military leadership are now in hiding. In many conflicts, once leaders can no longer appear publicly in their own country, it signals a serious strategic setback. That said, credit must be given to the resilience of the IRGC. They have continued to launch counterattacks though largely targeting US-aligned Gulf nations rather than directly striking major US or Israeli military installations. So far, US/Israeli forces have not suffered any major military losses, aside from the destruction of two multi-billion-dollar radar systems. In contrast, reports suggest severe damage to Iran’s navy, air force, air defense systems, and underground missile facilities. Possible Exit Scenarios for Trump Here are three potential exit paths that could still be framed as victories for the US: Scenario 1: Full Decapitation of the IRGC and Installation of a New Government This would be the most decisive outcome but also the most dangerous and unlikely. It would require widespread domestic uprising within Iran to topple the government. However, the IRGC has demonstrated a willingness to use force against civilians. If this scenario succeeds, it would represent the most complete strategic victory. Scenario 2: Prolonged Internal Conflict If US airstrikes fail to fully stop drone attacks on Gulf states and the Strait of Hormuz remains closed, Trump could pivot strategy. One possible approach would be fostering internal instability that keeps the IRGC occupied domestically for years. Kurdish factions, for example, could become significant players. A prolonged civil war could weaken Iran structurally, similar to how years of conflict destabilized Syria and eventually led to Assad’s fall. Scenario 3: UN-Pressured Ceasefire If international pressure forces a ceasefire, the US could still claim strategic success. At this stage, Iran have suffered significant military and infrastructural setbacks potentially losing decades of development progress. The IRGC leadership are weakened, and rebuilding military capability could take years. Even under a ceasefire, the balance of power may have shifted substantially. |

In one of the most significant strikes of the current war, the IDF on Saturday night announced it had destroyed the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Quds Force headquarters. The role of the feared and notorious Quds Force has been to destabilize the entire region and foment pro-Shiite and anti-Sunni movements in several countries. Another major role until the 2023-2025 Middle East War was to build a "ring of fire" around Israel, including through Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, Yemen, Gaza, the West Bank, and other places. The IRGC Quds Force took a major blow in 2020 when its legendary chief, Qasem Soleimani, considered number two in power in Iran at the time to Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, was assassinated by the US. |
