BAILMONEY:No they’re not. We are in same set. Same WhatsApp group. They probably created their accounts out of frustration ‘ cause of how relatable the post is. The review coincided with an abrupt change in their exam venues yesterday. Talk about the school’s inconsiderate appraoch to learners. |
I’ve just completed my first semester in the MBA program at the Ahmadu Bello University Distance Learning (ABUDLC), and here’s an honest review for anyone considering the program. Onboarding & Welcome Experience The program started fairly, but students were expected to figure out key things (like WhatsApp groups and tutor access) by checking forums on the learning management system. This information should have been clearly communicated in a welcome email. Score: 5/10 Lecturers & Teaching The lecturers in the first semester (they tried sha but my 2nd semester proved it was a set u) were generally fair and reasonably active. Engagement was frequent enough, and the teaching quality was decent overall. Score: 6/10 Examinations (First Semester) I wrote my exams on the Lagos mainland at JKK Building, Anthony. Day 1 was very disorganized, although things improved on Day 2. However, when you factor in the emotional and mental stress (especially for working professionals) the experience was far from ideal. Institutions of this caliber should be proactive, not reactive, particularly when they claim to be shaping Africa’s future business leaders. Score: 4/10 Examinations (Second Semester – Current Situation) As I prepare for second-semester exams, I received an email just two days before the papers informing us that the Lagos center has been moved from Anthony to Abule Egba. For working students, this last-minute change is extremely disruptive. Score: 1/10 Grading System Some lecturers still operate with the “5/5 is for God” mentality, even in 2025, in an era where AI and modern learning tools are redefining education. This approach feels outdated and discouraging. Score: 6/10 Final Thoughts If you’re considering this program and have a high tolerance for stress and surprise changes, then this might work for you. At times, it honestly feels like a toxic relationship, you praise them twice for enabling remote learning, then spend eight times dealing with avoidable frustration just to enjoy that privilege. Won’t recommend to anyone I love.

Quick one for virtual sessions. While you sign on do not forget to actually click the Join Meeting button. You are not waiting for a meeting until the interface says something like "Waiting" or some msg to let you know. So don't forget to click the Join button after signing on. This Ms teams differs from Zooms one click sign in. |
Hi guys, been reading the thread on guest mode for a while. Just finished my virtual interview. The interviewers were patient. MS Teams kept glitching because of MTN network [they expected it already]. So they were patient. The interview started at 3:10 I think [Originally scheduled for 3pm]. All I'll just say is nothing is written on stone. Minus network I'll rate the experience 75%. Simply asked for my professional certificates which I no get. I expected this already. Instead, I discussed my role as an editorial member on an energy journal which they liked. I also shared my articles with them. My mission was to make them know I was making efforts professionals certs or not. These guys really looked cool TBH and even thanked me for waiting for 10mins. When you're given 5mins to speak on your personal statement OWN IT. I think the interview lasted 15mins. No document was requested. Good luck to everyone. |
Job Interview Tips to Pass a Job Interview Today 1. Be Strategic and Deliberate with your research 2. Look the Role 3. Be intentional with your Answers 4. Leave an impression (a gift) 1. Be Strategic and Deliberate with Your Research Research may be the most mentioned job interview tip. You may have heard about its importance before an interview. Yes, it’s true. But it’s not just any kind of research. This type is strategic because employers may major in different industries. Your research should note key company values such as mission statements, industry, staff strength, and product offerings. How does their mission statement translate to their performance in sales, customer success, market and etc? What position are they in the industry? Who could be their competitors? Are they aware, performing well or just sleepwalking? As an interview candidate, you will have to research like a doctor. The research is your opportunity to understand the company culture, progress, and successes. It is also an opportunity to diagnose them. What value will your role be adding if employed? Also, a research approach that is strategic and deliberate will nourish the answers you give during interviews. You should use the lens of problem detection and problem-solving to conduct your company research. During interviews, questions like “Why Should We Hire You?” will pop up. They give you a clear shot at selling yourself using your success stories in previous companies and similar projects. You can do this while citing strategic details you researched on the target company. 2. Look the Role This part is perhaps the most cliched job interview tip. “Dress how you’d want to be addressed.” But it goes beyond dressing smart. It also has a lot to do with your confidence. Once job candidates recognize the importance of first impressions, job interviews get a lot easier. Virtually every candidate with a good CV that speaks to the employer’s needs will get the invitation to the interview. Unfortunately, that is just the beginning. It is important that you keep up the show and impress the hosts. This job interview tip is in typical boys scout fashion, “Be Prepared.” The reputation in your CV shouldn’t just precede you by opening doors for you. You should live up to your own standards or match the standards of the target company. You are applying for a role, right? Then you have to look like the expert in the dressing. Again, you have to sound like an expert. Begin to paint imaginary pictures of things you would do when you join the team Use the right words to get them to see. “Oh, I notice ABC Ltd., just launched the Teams software. From my research, it’s targeted at CEOs. How’s the reception so far?… Great! See what I came up with. Here’s what we’ll do…” Language functions as both weapon and tool. Know when to activate a function. To quote famous rapper Nas, “You only have one first chance to make one first impression that lasts a lifetime.” Recruiters are hired to find people who can deliver great results for the company. You are going to deliver those results. Let your confidence shine like the candidate about to deliver a sales presentation for Apple. Things like handshakes, eye contact, tone, and sitting posture have their implications in interviews. These attributes easily can betray your intentions. Therefore, it is essential that you rehearse and practice the fundamentals of job interviews. Again, it’s important to note job interview tips are not substitutes for skill and expertise. Your skill and expertise in that field will yield the results that will keep transform your company in business and make you a valuable team player.
