Sorry to hear about this,if you were informed and had an idea that you were gonna be given a test,i believe this wouldnt have happened.
This is the more reason we always request that people who had gone earlier for their Interview at least be kind enough to share their experiences so that others can avoid unnecessary mistakes and get themselves also prepared. The goal is for everyone to make it to Deutschland.

I was unexpectedly given text . They said my score for it is very bad . My interview questions was only why did I choose to study in Germany.

Checklist simply is the required/compulsory documents you must bring along with you when coming for your Interview. They'll collect the Originals and return it Later.
If your appointment is anytime soon,its better you prepare for a written test.

Is it now compulsory I fund my block account or I have my declaration of sponsorship at hand before I go for my visa interview, or I can still submit my proof of funds later after my interview like they used to do before.

Yeah they do. The question varies and it depends on your intended course of study.
I also applied for MBA (General Management)so most likely we'll be asked similar questions. But from what others have shared here,the questions are not that difficult so just chill but just prepare. Hopefully someone that is going for a Masters in Management will go for appointment soon so they can come and drop something for us.

When did you book your appointment. Embassy is in October 12th 2023. If yours is close,I'll advise to be patient. Except you have enough money to spend on getting a Residence Permit for those countries coupled with other expenses (I'm saying this cus of the depreciating nature of naira).
I have a friend who instead of even applying to Germany from Nigeria,applied for a 10 months Masters in Spain last year,has finished his Masters in Spain and applied from there for another Masters in Germany (since his goal was Germany). He will resume by Winter Semester I'm still waiting for the Lagos Consulate since that last year 😂😂. Very crazy stuff!!!
This is not me saying that you shouldn't check through Ghana ,Togo or Benin o,but just do your findings very well. Wish everyone Success as we patiently wait,it's not easy ❤️

Hello everyone, I used statement of result to apply for school and got an admission with it and now my appointment date is very close. I don't think it will be easy to get my original cert from my school. I'm asking whether they will accept the statement of result on the interview day??. I know someone will reply

Good Morning. Please someone who has an idea could respond. I booked for an appointment(Student Visa) in Nigeria(Lagos) under the old booking system and I'm on the waiting list. I also went ahead to book with the Accra Embassy still under the old booking system (just to explore other options,since their waiting period was 16 weeks and i have their residence permit).
Last week the Accra Embassy sent me a mail to go register under the new consular portal for student visa a d submit my documents so they prioritise my aplication since I have been waiting for so long.

Now the question is,I'm not in a haste or rush for anything. Whats the Advise, do i go ahead to register and upload my documents on their new portal? Does this have any ripple effect on my booking with the Lagos Embassy? As i do not want to make any silly mistake. Are multiple applications allowed for same category of visa in different countries??

I'll appreciate an input,suggestion and Advise. Thanks so much!

Good Morning,as we all wait for our various appointment dates from the Consulate. I implore everyone to contact his/her school,do a personal research for various scholarship openings. We all know the Embassy is currently prioritising applicants who hold various scholarships from the German government, European supported scholarships or the deutschlandstipendium.


Currently the deutschlandstipendium is open for various schools(though not all universities). Personally, I know of the Ohms Professional School, Technical University of Berlin,Hochschule Worms,Bremen etc and it might be closing anytime soon. Do well to check online,each universities have a contact person. Make contacts,ask questions and send in your applications (you never can tell). Good luck 🤞

Well, it depends on the VO. If she got admitted with just a statement of result, they'll accept it.

I understand this. I had similar issue with one of my Educational Certificates. It wasn't ready,but omo i had to disturb them eh...i pressed a little cash. They just had to print out mine alone for me,till now other of my mates have not gotten that certificate, I'm the only person. You can explain to them that it is for Embassy purposes and its urgent. They will do something. This is Nigeria.

Some persons, their degree certificate isn’t ready yet which is exactly why the question was asked.

To be on the safe side,why not try to get the Bachelors Certificate. The Embassy would have written "...Statement of results and transcripts as alternative to the degree certificate" as it is in the case of "BECE".
I'm not really sure though,but please just try and see if you can have it handy.

Go through the Embassy checklist again and be sure of the Documents that is required and try to gather them. I think you should request for your Bachelors Certificate.

Did you book appointment using the old portal or the new one?? If it was the old portal and you're sure the school gave you that Scholarship,you would have cancelled the appointment on the old portal and quickly book on the new one. I'm 100% sure you would have gotten a date for an appointment. DAAD scholars,Deutschlandstipendum and PTDF scholarship holders or any German Government or European supported Scholarship are the only ones qualified for Category A (for now) on the new portal. Get in touch with the contact person in your school for the Deutschlandstipendum,they might work out something for you again(just my thoughts)

Start looking for one. You may need to do a deep search or contact your school to ask if they have openings for Deutschlandstipendum.

75 Euro(its on the Embassy checklist). Take note that the 75 Euro is calculated according to the exchange rate of your interview day. So do well to have enough funds (physical cash and in your account also,incase you need to use the POS)

Yeah you should. Those are the only two available options for now that the Embassy approves of. But let your blocked account service provider know its for Tuition and not upkeep so you can have access to it anytime.

Yeah that one is different,that one is for your monthly upkeep which totals the amount 11,904 Euro.
You can open another account depending on your service provider(e.g Expatrio) and inform them that its for School fees. Then when you get to Germany you can remove the money at once,the monthly restriction does not apply to that account. Hope this helps.

Please let me advise you. On that portal,it clearly states 1year Tuition. You can put it in a blocked account as well and print out the confirmation/statement to show you have that money blocked already.
You see the issue of Admission letter,Blocked Account and that Enrollment, 1 year tuition (for those going to private schools), the Embassy is serious on it now and you wouldn't wana risk,i guess you've waited too long for this opportunity.
Just try to do what ever it takes to provide them that 1year receipt or a separate blocked statement for your fees.
