Yeah, you may want to read it up yourself to get the full details on the Embassy Portal. Shalom!

Please which is opportunity card, is it also a visa
TravelRe: General-german-student-visa-enquiries Part 8 by HudsonTaylor: 2:13pm On Apr 16, 2025
Lets not lie, this German route requires one to develop a tough skin and have patience. But not really having the patience, the problem with it is, you can't even predict the exact time you'll get an appointment. They might be fast today and slow tomorrow. Some persons end up getting appointment when the Admission window has closed, some have admission and no appointment.
People keep wasting funds to apply each semester (for those who can't defer)should incase the embassy calls. Now that the Embassy is very strict as regards complete documents and not wanting to reschedule, one has to be fully ready and would not want to risk it after waiting for almost two years.
In all, lets just be patient,do our own part and leave it for God!!!
deim98:
this is not fair. sigh, it get's exhausting anticipating your turn
TravelRe: General-german-student-visa-enquiries Part 8 by HudsonTaylor: 3:57pm On Apr 15, 2025
No they did not
Seems they're moving slow again.
Even Ghana consulate is now 35weeks waiting period.
Seems most people will now have to apply for the Opportunity card route and later convert to a student visa on getting to Germany.
deim98:
did the embassy drop any AD cos idk if they are moving slow again
TravelRe: General-german-student-visa-enquiries Part 8 by HudsonTaylor: 5:28pm On Apr 08, 2025

After checking my documents and asking me questions like why Germany and why do I want to study the course , if I had a family in Germany and the person’s details. Then he said he will like to test me .. and asked what is my favorite subject I said .. physics . Next he gave me physics and maths
TravelRe: General-german-student-visa-enquiries Part 8 by HudsonTaylor: 12:22pm On Apr 02, 2025
Oh Danke,
Quite a relief.
Hannania:
Your passport number is 9 digits with no country code. E.,G A12345678 OR B87654321. If this is not what you used to book, Mr Paulinus will never grant you access in
TravelRe: General-german-student-visa-enquiries Part 8 by HudsonTaylor: 11:26am On Apr 02, 2025
Please i want to ask.
In our passport, where we have the biodata page the passport number details there is 9 in total including the Alphabet.

But when you look down to where you have that country code stuff, theres an additional number there which wasn't part of the normal passport number.
Abeg people that had gone to the Embassy should explain this to us,let us not wait in vain. Is it 9 characters in total including the Alphabet?? @Hannania

I think so because if they don't, i don't see the need for them wasting their time to give you that test. Maybe those that have a better idea can respond to this. How did your interview go yesterday?? Do you mind sharing your experience?

Ezesolomon411:
Pls do they judge by the test given at the embassy?
TravelRe: General-german-student-visa-enquiries Part 8 by HudsonTaylor: 12:32pm On Mar 09, 2025
July 2024 Boss
Freebys:
When did you apply?
TravelRe: General-german-student-visa-enquiries Part 8 by HudsonTaylor: 7:20pm On Mar 08, 2025
Please, last week we didn't get update about appointment dates. This week,it seems to be the same. I don't want to believe the Embassy didn't issue out dates.

Let me start by appreciating everyone who keeps this thread going and respond to questions, share their experiences, air out their own opinion and suggestions willingly even when they have the RIGHT to keep it to themselves. Thats the only thing that motivates others here not to give up or make mistakes. Please lets help each other, some persons will get dates but refuse to share here(no disrespect though). We understand that some persons want to keep it private, but we literally dont know ourselves here and nobody is taking your date from you. Everyone here is pursuing the same thing,we just have to help each other to keep this thread running. Some persons will go to the consulate for appointment and get their visas but refuse to share how it went so others can learn and adjust. The goal here is for everyone to succeed. I feel sad when i hear that people go to the consulate and encounter one challenge or the other, maybe as a result of lack of information et al.
Lets understand that the waiting time alone is frustrating and no one wants to make that mistake of missing out after finally getting an appointment because they were misinformed or not informed(No body is an island of knowledge,we learn everyday).

Finally, for those waiting. Lets try to always get adequate information before going to the Embassy on where you might be having doubts, its better to ask and get clarity from others.

Goodluck to everyone here. We'll all definitely make it through to Deutschland. ✌️
TravelRe: General-german-student-visa-enquiries Part 8 by HudsonTaylor: 6:54pm On Mar 08, 2025
Yeah,I've read alot about Fintiba here. Its sad though. I guess its because of our country Nigeria, maybe thats why they are strict and reason for the delays and bureaucracy in getting confirmation. Sorry Boss.
Juggernauts:
Can you imagine. What fintiba has done to some of us here cannot be explained with word of mouth.
TravelRe: General-german-student-visa-enquiries Part 8 by HudsonTaylor: 6:49pm On Mar 08, 2025
No boss,Still keeping hope Alive.
bigoringo:
do you have a date now ?
TravelRe: General-german-student-visa-enquiries Part 8 by HudsonTaylor: 1:54pm On Mar 08, 2025
Yes Family member
Different Surname.
In my own case, there was nothing like verification. Money was paid, got the transfer receipt and uploaded to my portal. My confirmation came instantly with my travel insurance and my school was notified about my health insurance.
Juggernauts:
Was it a family member that transferred the funds? Like someone with the same surname as you? How is their verification process like?
TravelRe: General-german-student-visa-enquiries Part 8 by HudsonTaylor: 1:06am On Mar 07, 2025
Hi Sir/Ma
I haven't gone to the Embassy yet, still waiting for my turn. But kindly check previous threads or login to the Embassy portal to download the document checklist(very important). Then you can carry along al other supporting documents you think might be necessary, just in case.
Best of Luck on your Interview.
Glowing1:
Please can you tell me all of the documents you took to the embassy. My interview is next week.
I appreciate thank you
TravelRe: General-german-student-visa-enquiries Part 8 by HudsonTaylor: 1:02am On Mar 07, 2025
They will notify you via mail, then you log in and proceed to download your 06 CONFIRMATION via your expatrio portal
Joanlaura:
Hiiii
Did you get the confirmation via mail or when you log into expatrio
TravelRe: General-german-student-visa-enquiries Part 8 by HudsonTaylor: 10:32pm On Mar 06, 2025
If you have your documents, go to the consulate portal, register and upload your documents to stay on the queue ASAP. Don't waste any time. Most people booked using the old portal. By the grace of God when Embassy is done attending to everyone on that old portal, they will start responding to those that booked on the new portal.
Zeedar:
Please someone should answer me, I want to start my study in Germany process, and I’m a fresh out of school graduate, so now the thing is I heard it takes a long time to get an appointment date, even though right now I don’t even have the block account money, can someone please explain how I can stay on the cue for the -appointment date no matter how long it takes.
TravelRe: General-german-student-visa-enquiries Part 8 by HudsonTaylor: 10:25pm On Mar 06, 2025
I used Expatrio, the offer& transaction was seamless, funds were transfered from Germany and i got and printed my confirmation instantly. They also gave health insurance and travel insurance. Everything was about 12,200 there about in total.
This is my own experience, you can explore other options you've mentioned and make your choice.
Glowing1:
Please all I need to fund my blocked account now. Which is the best to use btw Fintiba, coracle and expatrio?

INTERVIEW TRANSCRIPT.

I arrived at the embassy at 5:40am for my interview, even though my appointment was scheduled for 8:00am.

Upon entry, we were instructed to arrange our documents in a specific order (Please listen to this ATTENTIVELY because people were sent back to the start by Mr Paulinus alot of times as regards this).
After document arrangements, the popular Mr Paulinus stand was next; had a seamless interaction with him (seems he was in a very good mood🙂) and i was the 2nd person to be sent into the embassy.

At the VO’s Office(Inner Chambers)
Entered the inner chambers at about past 7am

Questions:
1. What did you apply for?
2. What program are you going for? She asked this question repeatedly
3. Why Germany, why not the US?
4. Why do you want to study this course?
5. What’s your means of subsistence?
6. Do you know anyone is Germany?
7. Where do you work?

I was given 10 questions in total in Economics and Mathematics.

Economics Questions:
1. What is opportunity cost
2. Difference between demand and quantity demanded
3. State the factors of production
4. What is GDP and how is it measured
5. Explain market equilibrium

Mathematics Questions:
1. One apple costs $15, if I want to get 4 apples, how much will it cost ?
2. I have 50 oranges, if I take away 23, how many is left ?
3. If I drive for 60km in 1hour, how many km will I drive for in 2.5hours?

The visa application fee remains ₦118,500.

I completed the entire process at the embassy by 8:07am.

Just like most cases here, you can reschedule your appointment if you're not ready. But be careful while stating your reasons in your rescheduling mail. People have been getting rescheduled here recently now that the Embassy is gracious enough. You can tell them the month that you want appointment since you want to defer to Winter 2025.@Hannania can further advise you. Good luck
Saraph25:
Thanks for the advice but my school didn't give me the option to study Online, both in the Past Winter semester and this coming Summer semester.
If I get appointment, what better way can I defend it during the interview?
TravelRe: General-german-student-visa-enquiries Part 8 by HudsonTaylor: 8:39pm On Feb 25, 2025
Congratulations on getting an appointment date. Please when did you book?? If its private school,Embassy will ask you for evidence of one year tuition which you can block separately in a blocked account asides the 11,904. Or you pay and take your receipt alongside with you. I stand to be corrected. Wishing you best of luck on your interview day.
tgbstarter:
I just received a visa appointment from the embassy. Since I don't have admission yet, I've opted for a private university that requires €8,000 in total tuition fees. The university allows an initial payment of €2,500 to obtain the admission letter for the embassy.

Here's my question: In addition to the regular blocked account requirement of €11,904, do I need to pay the full tuition fees or add the full amount to the blocked account? Or is it sufficient to have the blocked account of €11,904 plus the partial tuition payment receipt of €2,500?

Has anyone had a similar recent experience who can provide guidance?
TravelRe: General-german-student-visa-enquiries Part 8 by HudsonTaylor: 8:32pm On Feb 25, 2025
Nothing can hinder you from getting appointment date this weekend since the Embassy is very very close to your date. So it is better you request for your Sponsorship letter to be sent to you,so you can have it ready. It is better to be safe than sorry to avoid stories that touch. But DHL delivery from Deutschland to Lagos takes two days. Just get your stuff ready. Wish you success.
Ezesolomon411:
Pls is it too early for the sponsorship letter to be sent now down to Nigeria tho the person hasn’t received AD yet .. tho the person in June 24th 2023.
TravelRe: General-german-student-visa-enquiries Part 8 by HudsonTaylor: 8:26pm On Feb 25, 2025
The Embassy is in 17th June, possibly this week they will enter July. If your school is resuming for Summer by next month and you can attend lectures online please do,dont defer the admission again since Embassy is close to your month(if they continue with this pace). Because if you defer to winter 2025,they will call you before then. If they call you, show them prove of attending class online and ask your school for a late resumption letter or confirmation. Its still your decision to make though.
I stand to be corrected.
Saraph25:
Please I need assistance here.

I got admitted to a Bachelor degree in Germany, I enrolled for Winter semester 2024, due to the waiting time for Visa appointment, I didn't meet up for lectures. I have been in communication with the University all this while.

I was asked by the school to apply for leave of Absence for Winter semester, which I did. They also reminded me for RE-ENROLMENT for this coming Summer semester 2025 (Second semester of my program) which I also did due to the short deadline given to me.

I booked appointment in September 2023. Will it be an issue if I also apply for another leave of Absence for the summer semester 2025?. I am really confused as I don't know if I am on the right track. I have the two semester's enrollment certificate and admission letter that was issued for Winter semester 2024.

Please I need to be sure that I am not making any mistakes. Please any advice or direction will be appreciated.

@everyone please help me.

Please who was given a date last week here. Please kindly share so we keep our hopes alive.
Or anyone that knows the last date that was given by the embassy should kindly share. Thanks.

Lols what a relieve. Thanks for your honest reponse. You've been very helpful.

[quote author=Hannania post=134195220]Lol, it's baseless. The embassy will never grant preference no matter who sends the email. They don't even respond to such requests. So chill, no issues
TravelRe: General-german-student-visa-enquiries Part 8 by HudsonTaylor: 11:44am On Feb 18, 2025
@Hannania Good Morning. I booked July 2024. I have summer 2025 admission and want to defer. The school asked me why,I told them its the waiting time at the Embassy that it will only be faster if i had a scholarship. They said to process the scholarship will take time and i wont be able to meet up with the resumption date of 17th March. The school just notified me that they've send a message to the Embassy trying to see if they can give me an appointment date (I did not send them 😔🤦‍♂️). I hope this will not affect my future applications or give me a bad record at the Embassy?? Make this school no put me for wahala oo abeg 🤲
TravelRe: General-german-student-visa-enquiries Part 8 by HudsonTaylor: 2:06pm On Feb 13, 2025
@Hannania Good Afternoon,Please my School is asking for a prove to show that the Embassy Appointment time is faster for Scholarship holders before they can be able to offer me a Tuition Scholarship.
The old link where it was categorized into A and B is no more there where i would have just sent them a Screenshot of the Information on the portal. Please any help, remedy or suggestions on what i can do? Thank you.
TravelRe: General-german-student-visa-enquiries Part 8 by HudsonTaylor: 1:39pm On Feb 10, 2025
Good Afternoon all, please its like they've moved all Categories for student visas to the consular portal(the new digital portal). What of those that applied via the old portal and are patiently on the waiting list? Is ours still valid?? Do we need to make a new appointment via the new consular portal?
Someone with a valid idea should please kindly clarify this. Thank you!
