I must be very truthful , I don't hate igbos or anything. I lived in the Philippines for 5 years and all the igbo neighbors I had and know were into drugs, prostitution, scams. My neighbors was actually on their national tv for scam he ribed his way out though. They run prostitution ring through their nightclubs. We all knew we just kept shut. Its only one igbo guy that knew was good I even sold my carpet to him when I was leaving. He studies alot and he is smart , very nice guy love by a lot of people. The rest are just useless human beings.

I'm not saying yoruba are not into crimes too but they are like 1 out of 100.

Thank you brother , i don't understand all these africans coming on a Nigerian forum talking rubbish up and down .
deomelo:

I repeat it's a common metro rail system with nothing more to it.

Are they building a 60km 10 lane freeway at the same time also like Lagos ? No

Are they building a 60 km BRT access at the same time like Lagos? No

Are they building miles of Metro rail bridge over any lagoon like they are doing in Lagos? No

Are the building miles of Metro bridge across the Marina like Lagos? No

Are the building real stations like they are doing in Lagos? No, they built sheds like bus stops.

You obviously know little or nothing about the project in Ethiopia.

The fact that it was sited in their capital doesn't mean it's not a project executed by the Ethiopian government.

The Ethiopian government constructed the metro rail with loans the government of Ethiopia took from china and a Chinese company built it.

The Lagos Metro is 100% Lagos state project.

Coming from the same poster who just labeled the Lagos state metro rail a railway when in fact it's a metro rail and a 10 lane freeway system.

You are comfortable putting Lagos with a more comprehensive and financial and labor intensive project down in favor of Ethiopia common metro system with nothing else to it.

You are just another hating hypocrite.

You obviously don't know how to read and comprehend because explaining the difference between both projects and why the should never be compared and criticizing are 2 different things.

Just to educate you further, the Lagos Metro rail and 10 lane freeway system started in 2012 and this is 2017, meaning the project is only 5-year-old project while many countries with less labor intensive system spend over a decade on theirs.

Ignorance is your and jealousy problem.

You are nothing but a hating ethiopian trying to put Nigeria down with your small scale local railway.

All your threads on NL are all pro ethiopia so stop all the silly and retentious nonsense.

Lagos remains the largest public works project in Africa and it's a state project.

Below are all your ethiopia threads on NL.

Am no pessimist it's just that I know this country too well..State police will cos more division.
Yes the vigilantes can work side by side with the police but under the police..Even the vigilantes u mentioned I remember back in the days, when opc was introduced.I know how they oppressed ad clashed with other tribes in lagos hausas, ijaws etc,They killed innocent people for no reason. Thanks to the federal govt for serving them a hot humble pie with chilled fanta..Those are the kind of tribalistic people that will police the state if giving the permission o.I don't want to mention bakassi boys that's a story for another day

The criterial of recruitment will be different. they should be trained by the NPF and go to the NPF for training. stuff like that removes tribalism since they will mix with other people in the training , after that you go back to your states and join your states or local government police. very simple .

I remembered when i as a kid in lagos and our community used to employ vigilantes , it was a community levy everyone had to pay per month to the landlord association. it was so safe at night. we would even leave our doors open. and that was in lagos.
we knew the vigilantes and they knew us.

that's how policing works. people don't go out looking for other tribes to victimize . if everyone know the police man in his or her neighborhood crime will reduce because the criminal will be easily apprehended .

As good as it may sound I don't think we are ready for it now..Tribalism will hinder it.Imagine it's possible and a riot breaks out how will the state police handle the issue without taken sides with an indegene ad without been biased..e.g the Hausa vs yoruba mile 12 riot and the current ife crisis will a yoruba police not take side with a yoruba crowd?Yes they will..They must defend there kinsmenz interest.
So friend we are not ready for that now..There will be clash of interest, state and federal interest..We need a wazobian police not state police based on the 250 ethnic groups in Nigeria.

before you where able to walk with your 2 feet. you fell couple of times. We must give it a try . it's gonna be step by step . and it's already happening , if you have been watching the news lately you'll see states are already organizing their vigilantes into groups and they are working with police and it's yielding results already. you cannot police from above man. it's from below.

let just see what happens. stop being a pessimist. thats the thing with Nigerians , they are not willing to tweak the system for it to work.

Mr Omohayek,here are the points I was trying to make;
1.The state governors or even local government chairpersons' wouldnt be the ones issuing the arrest warrants; the police should be independent and have power to act unilaterally. In your post, you alluded to the state governors being able to issue a "federal arrest warrant",something only the court can do.
2.The issue of jurisdiction; If say an ijaw man kills another man in Lagos and runs to Bayelsa, what happens when the bayelsa police department refuses to aid the arrest of such a person probably because they suspect tribal persecution?,even if they are willing, the process will be slow(involving sharing of intel, investigation, profiling and perusal of criminal record from one state to another) and by the time action is taken, the suspect would be on the run again.
However,I think the idea could work only with completely independent and autonomous police forces.
On number 2. Lagos state police can petition the federal government like npf to get him in his state. If the state are not willing to give him up.

1. Another write up about 2 totally different projects in totally different environments.

2. Ethiopia's rail is just a common rail system and nothing more.

3. Lagos rail system is not just a rail system, it's a combination of a rail system with a 60 klm 10 lane freeway system and BRT access.

4. Lagos rail travels through many rail stations that must be built

5. Lagos rail station travels over the Lagos Lagoon, meaning they have to construct a rail bridge over the Lagoon which is currently under construction.

6. Ethiopia is a country while Lagos is just state in Nigeria

The Lagos Metro rail is still the most groundbreaking and comprehensive project in Africa and an not and shouldn't be compared with an ordinary metro rail in Ethiopia.

Lagos Metro rail is the kind of projects countries embark on and the fact Lagos state is handling such project is more than commendable.

The ignorant and shortsighted writers sure need some p[roper education and ability to compare logically.

It took dehli 20 years to build same time type of metro lagos is building. And its just one line ,lagos is starting to build the second line. The blue line will have a bridge over the lagoon. Stupid ethiopian people salivating over trams that can't even take that much passengers.

Don't lie! It's perfectly modern. It has 39 stations and 41 trains. It has 2 lines, one being 17.4km and the other being 14.2 km(31.6 km collectively). It costed 475$ and completed within 4 years. It's called efficiency!
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Addis_Ababa_Light_Rail

You are so dense man, land is more expensive in lagos. The soil is different. The stations will be ultra modern with. Not a neighborhood tramway . Man, africans sometimes talk too much like blockheads.

Because we don't want criminal minded Nigerians overrun the place with crime.

The country i grew up in , there were only professional Nigerian expats working in the oil and gas industry and other reputable jobs, high paying as well , but fast forward 10 years later i saw a Nigerian brother running on the street just past my brother and i after robbing an indian fellow on the street. i was ashamed , because i just saw the Nigerian guy on the street like few days before , Now i have to carry my ID everywhere i go because people now think Nigerians are criminals, when 10 years ago we won the award for the best immigrants . just imagine.

Nigerians are nuisance once there are too much of them .
