sayoddy:She's a madam now, all those sleepless nights are part of motherhood package. I used to cry few days after mine was born because I was alone at night and the operation also something else and tell myself, I can't, this is too much but its now a distant memory. Enjoy your daughter and may the pecks of motherhood deal with you. |
Thank you Mamas for the support and just being here, we are all in our little way making a difference to people out there. Trust me when I say Enkaydewdrops is the one who pulled me out of my hiding place because I've been saying I don't want another c/s and you encouraged me and told me that it doesn't matter if its normal or c/s as long as our precious God given gifts are born hearty and healthy its fine. I may not be frequent on nl as a whole, but this is my home, Titi will come back one day and see where she comes from, its her legacy so I will always be here. MY BIRTH STORY I would like to apologise to my lovely mamas for being a bore and stingy with my bs, I suffered from Post Natal depression, a lot was going on and I just needed to hibernate. A big thank you to all my sisters and brothers who made my stay on this thread awesome, truly I saw compassion, acceptance of each other regardless of our different beliefs, perseverance and a whole lot of sisterhood I have never seen anywhere. I am truly blessed to have been part of this thread and family. Mamas and papas, thread cuties, may the good Lord bless you abundantly. I believe we've reached a point where we give others space and move on to the sister thread. ![]() A day before my 36th week ANC check-up, I wasn't feeling alright at all. That morning labour pains started, I was excited, I have been waiting for them though they were still far apart from each other. Hubby suggested we go to the clinic first to confirm. We went to the clinic I had been booked for an appointment for the following day of which when we got there, I was told they were not working on Tuesdays that I should come on Wednesday. I told them I might be in labour and they referred me to the hospital, which is in the same compound. At the hospital I was referred to the maternity ward. The contractions was getting worse that I found it hard to even move around. The nurses checked my vitals, put me on a CTG and checked how far I was. I was one centimeter dilated. Hubby was told to go and open a file for me I was being admitted. I was just praying for supernatural delivery, I saw what labour was in that ward. Women were moving up and down, others screaming, others crying. One lady's water broke in the toilet and it wasn't clear, it was muddy and when the nurse came she just said "Its meconium, clean up and go back to your bed." Some of us know it all just rolled our eyes. That baby had to be out of its mother's womb but what did we know, it wasn't our battle to fight. My contractions were not so bad after all. When the Doctors came to do their rounds, I was told I might have UTI, it might be the reason I was having contractions, she prescribed antibiotics for me and told me they would keep an eye on me over night, if labor progress I would be send to theatre for emergency c/s if not I would be discharged the following day. I witnessed a lot in the maternity ward, I made a friend who came late in the evening. When her contractions were getting stronger she was given an injection and was forced to sleep. I also fell asleep around midnight, woke up to go to the loo around 5am and met my friend sitting by the bench, I asked her if she had delivered, she sadly told me her baby died during birth, the midwives told her the umbilical cord had wrapped itself on the baby's neck. And that the baby was too big, they pulled the baby by its head. I was just confused, I asked if she checked the heartbeat the last time they put the CTG on her and she said it was fine. I left her there because I was so afraid, in short she was accusing the midwives of murder. The morning Doctors came and I blatantly told them I wanted elective c/s there was no way I was going to push. The CTG showed no contractions, baby was fine, pains had also vanished, I was just like a visitor in the ward. I was discharged after being counselled by the Doctor about VBAC and C/S and was booked for Elective C/S at 29 weeks. On my last ANC appointment when they put me on a CTG I was told I wasn't going home, I was contracting. I had to be wheeled to the hospital in a wheelchair because I couldn't walk, was in pain. I couldn't pee, had to be admitted without my urine being checked, I was still one cm, the nurses already knew me. After midnight the contractions vanished, only stabbing pain caused by round ligament pain. I was discharged again the following morning. I was fed up, I begged my baby to come out, I begged God to release me as I started thinking that maybe someone didn't want me to deliver my baby alive that is why I was in so much pain but no show, strong contractions came and I would count minutes apart still hey would leave again. The day of my elective c/s finally drew near. On the fourth of May 2016 I went to the hospital not feeling any pain. I was first on the queue to be admitted for c/s on the 5th. Being a regular, I knew what to do, and after that was given a nice comfortable bed. We were treated like royalty, made friends and talked for hours before bedtime. No pain at all, the next morning we were told to go and shower, then the truth finally sank in. THE TIME HAS COME. I wasn't afraid, we had prayed, and prepared for this but….. After bathing we had to pack all our stuff in our bags and wear only hospital gowns. Catheter was inserted which hurt like hell though I haven't been there. It made it worse because the pipe leaked and they had to take it out and insert another one. Tears just stung my eyes I called my late mother. Then the drip, after getting prepared the anesthetist came to explain the process. They no longer do general anesthetic. She explained that general was administered because the first c/s was an emergency and I wasn't even aware of what was happening around me. Watching too much of TLC discovery programs on pregnancy and childbirth is not good for the fainthearted like me. I've seen how the process is done and I was scared, part of me wanted to tell her no, but I was so eager to meet my baby and honestly tired of being in pains without end. Six weeks later mom and daughter are best of friends. My beautiful Onyinye....Titilayo the first. |

olubankemi:pele you hear...#pats her on the back... Hubby used to bath me, but he would bath me, the hubby way of bathing and if I correct him, he would tell me to do it myself because I know too much. Since then I don't bother him, inless I am too tired or I really need his help. |

My dear, its not personal o. Myself I don't reply when I have no glue what is going on, I read and pass, hoping for someone informed to come and shed light to the matter. Jaundice has been our headline for sometime now, had no glue what it is, till I googled it few days ago. Sometimes, ask google first. I always do that, get my facts straight then come here for closure. Google seems a bit too far for me, but this thread is close to home.Remember, our pregnancies are not the same as we all are different too. pintoxx:@ Olubankemi, I have to bend, when bathing. Lately m on my own, I just have to be strong, soon Lo will be here and all this will be history. Hope the twins are not kicking you too much? @Gaily04....Ok, its been a while we had rollcall, May mamas have been really silent but your doing a great job dear. I want to port to April, just can't wait for Lo and May is too far. #hidesface# But May God's will be done in my life concerning the coming of my child not my own will Amen. @Enkaydewdrops #SO HELP US GOD. |
enkaydewdrop:It is a must to check, used to weigh 59kg before, my last anc I weighed 71, and dh has agreed that I am fat. I eat fruits all the time but still I keep gaining. #sohelpmeGod I am so shedding this fat after delivery. |
Madam Lioha, will not talk until you finish your bs. |
pintoxx:well, my Doctor told me I wasn't allowed to take it. Battled with dry cough twice in my pregnancy and was given vitaminc tablets and amoxillin. It cleared after some days. I know it feels like your dying but its advised you visit your Doctor or go see the sisters at a nearest clinic/hospital. Home administered medication is not advised in pregnancy, that's why even Pharmacists send you straight to hospital. |
Welcome to the newbies, enjoy your ride and nay the good Lord be with you always. Mumtwins congratulations dear, March has really been a busy month. May your Los bring you all the joy any mother could ask for in Jesus name amen. It is well with BBG. |
olubankemi:Amen, from waist down is another story, I feel like Lo is down there and when I bend or sit I am inconveniencing him, I feel I am hurting him but I need to bend and sit. @ Gaily04, I wasn't expecting them stuff, but I couldn't bear the itchiness anymore. |
enkaydewdrop:lol, before and after things, it is well because as for me, I am turning anorexic as soon as I deliver. Just kidding but I love myself without the excess fat, God forgive me, I envy those ladies who don't change or add extra fat during pregnancy. |
Gaily04:our able captain, all teams are getting ready o, we will not afford to carry last. Let us be the talk of the town and beat March. @ Sugah and Mitchyy how I miss my heels. Short people like us need them but my body doesn't allow me to wear them anymore if not, I would still be rocking them shoes by now. @ Izzystevens, guess you never lost your ftm bump? @ udoomama Amen. |
Queen1:your welcome dear. Enjoy your stay and get ready for the captain reigns. nwapastor:welcome dear, enjoy your stay here. |
enkaydewdrop:I never had stretchmarks before but this one, na zebra marks I've got as part of the package. |
BritneyStacy:thank you, if he doesn't call me sexy after delivery, I will show him. Just kidding. ![]() |
OmG, see belle I've been complaining about my own bump but today I will . Izzysteven are you having twins?Mitchyy, the mama behind the bumpie Tuesday, lovely bump. ![]() Enkaydewdrop Brownsmoothie Britneystacey Flourish89, ya'll mamas are looking fine with your bumps o. Idoomama, it shows your carrying twins, the Lord is your strength, when I think of how far August is, be strong my sis. |
Cropped out my face then, as for the latest, couldn't crop it, I tired. This man has finally succeeded into making sure that I look like a Halloween pumkin. I took a good look at him today in town strutting his stuff, hands in pockets and I almost cried, he is still as sexy as ever and as for me......it is well. For my LO I can be anything. ![]()
|
enkaydewdrop:hmmm, didn't ask Mitchyy when we are starting. And a quick question, do we show our bumps in our birth suits or even when dressed? |
ginababy:Your right, we need to be consistant when it comes to the things of God. He should be the center of everything, we should have unwavering, stubborn faith, even when things seems not to go our way, trusting that no matter what happens, God has our best interests at heart. |
Fabmommy hold onto your God, as our sisters have already prayed and advised, leave it all in God's hands now. Trust in him through it all, it is well with Lo and never ever speak negative or think negative. The bible says it is impossible to please God without faith. |
feddy27:In the name of our Lord Jesus Christ we pray, Amen. |
Olubankemi my epistle lover teamie, just thought of you, Lo send his kicks to his mate. And May roll call please? |

mine only smiles when she's about to sleep. Them girls taking over today.
