congratulations prugee on the birth of your LO, may the good Lord give you strength and wisdom to raise him/her according to what the good book says. |
Madam Chinwendym, its good to be back, we are hanging in there by God's grace we will also deliver with ease. March mamas its a bit quite this week, how's waddling? Are the LOs getting ready to meet us? Blessed week with full of wisdom from the most High to all the mamas as our hormones will be doing great work and we will be tested to do or say stuff we didn't mean. |
olubankemi:Ok, I would have preferred thearket but the all the shops I mentioned are found in malls. I guess they are Southern African owned or something, and like someone said, it would be better to have someone who will just pack everything for you to the cab or car and when you get home someone should carry for you to the house. I also like pricing before buying, I had to check the quality of things before buying, though it was tiring at the end of the day, I had only entered three stores and bought all my baby stuff at three stores for R3500 and very pleased with what I've got. Thanks to the mama who posted things needed for a baby here, I shopped like a pro and one lady even asked to see my list. ![]() |
Bisoye82:Amen to that sister, that is the spirit, it just helps to know that we are not alone. Some people where I come from will look at you and call you all sorts of names. "Is she the first to get pregnant?" "All of a sudden she is a glass which breaks whenever work needs to be done? I've had my five children and wasn't this lazy!" "Children of today! So lazy, it will not kill you to some work." I remember after my bfp, I couldn't do much, was always nauseous and low blood had me at a corner and I had to go for an upaid leave, the deputy asked why couldn't they just sack me as I had just started working there blah blah. She told me one of the teachers who has just returned from maternity leave worked until the day her water broke. At that moment, I was feeling so sick I just ran out of the office to the ladies, I stayed there till I had emptied everything in me and feeling dizzy, when hubby saw me, he ended the meeting abruptly and took me home. Few days later he told me he had signed my resignation letter when I was in the toilet, the one I knew nothing about. It was a trying time for me but he told me he couldn't take the woman's nasty comments and want what is best for his child. Sorry for the epistle o, but our children nomatter how trying this season of pregnancy may be, means more than anything in the world to us. I thank God for this gift, he/she is our first priority. @ Mitchy, please don't punish me, I don't have that patience anymore to finish anything I have started. I always get bored halfway, or something will distract me and that would be it, but will try and stay focused, my baby is always on my mind, I have even abandoned my writing, as in I don't have hobbies anymore. Thanks for the info on pgp, I've been doing some exercises and trying to follow everything they say I should do but it just does not want to let me be. |
goldmine:Feels good to be back, missed this place. Our pep here sells good stuff for babies though Ackermans and Jet are still the best. Woolworths is just ridiculously expensive especially when I know my baby is going to out grow most of the clothes within a week or two. I will push by His grace, just can't wait for April to know which way we are going. Happy Sunday to you and all the mamas and papas here, greetings to your families and e-kisses to the Los. |
goldmine:I am fine thank you, how are you and the family? |
Finally!!!!! Good morning beautiful women of proverbs 31. I thank God for our children whom if not of their coming we all wouldn't have been in this thread. Its been a while, every time I come here I am met by 100+ pages to read and I never ever finish. ![]() Team May how far with shopping ? All I read here is you guys mentioning shops and markets where you buy baby stuff ya'll don't have Jet, Ackermans, Pep, Game, Woolworths etc where they sell baby stuff? Because in those shops you can get 85% of baby things in one store for R2500.00. anyway, I've already packed my own bag, because I don't tjink I will be able to do that in the next couple of weeks. Experiencing something called pelvic girdle pain and they told me its normal at the clinic when I begged them for pain killers, I felt like strangling someone mxm. The pain is out of this world and I am just wondering if I will be able to push my LO out from down there when its even hard for me to get out of bed to go to the loo at night and hubby has to carry me all the time. Anyone experiencing itchy palms? This pregnancy is one of a kind that has isolated me from people because I complain of this and that all the time and our African people believe that you shouldn't rest especially now so that the baby won't sleep when its due. There's this Lady who cleans our flat and always calls me lazy whenever we meet downstairs. She always insist I use the stairs, and will shout it loud to hubby that he is spoiling me blah blah. Just thank God for Google, this man has stopped comparing my pregnancy to that of other ladies and gladly offer advise to those who call me lazy. When we go for ANC, trust my hubby to be the one couching other ladies and comforting them as he would share what he has to go through with me on daily basis. Its been so long, my senior mamas, Zaynie, Modath, chinwendym, Ahnie, gold.mine, mitchy, and everyone else I didn't mention, I have all of you in my heart and I am forever grateful that I found this thread at the right time. Its like a family I always dreamed off, where we disagree to agree on different stuff but still have megalove for each other. last night I dreamed of twin girls, their birth was so smooth they just slipped out of my down below like water and I was so excited to breast feed them, one looked like me and the other like hubby. I couldnt wait to come and post my birth story here, my joy knew no bounds and when I woke up I told hubby and the look he gave me........I had to laugh it off and said it was a sign for our next missionary journey, he just spoiled my mood for the whole day! Please pardon the epistle, blame it on insomnia. |
Izzystevens:It is well indeed. ![]() Thank you |
Chinwendym:Lol Mama Ekene, ![]() I am a mother but never enjoyed it. 1. I don't know what contractions feels like as in the real deal. 2. I won't tell you how I gave birth, I want to feel and see everything from home to hospital. 3. I didn't raise my child, I only spend first six months of his life with him uninterrupted, from then only saw him on birthdays and holidays. 4. He died a month after his second birthday, when I was still planning to be around him more so this time to me feels like a whole new chapter. Something I've never experienced before. M not angry, motherhood is something to be enjoyed yes and I thank God for CS because we wouldn't have made it with my first if not for it. Just this time around I also want to be present in the delivery room. I also want to FEEL everything without any complication, be it CS or VB. |
Izzystevens: thank you so much for this ma'am. My 36weeks check-up will give us glue on which route to take, still a bit far now. To God be the glory for all things He has done and the ones He is yet to do in our lives amen. Blessed week beautiful women of God and to the wonderful fathers in the house. Shalom |
zaynie:I understand, very clear now. And thanks a lot, appreciated. |
modath:Tell LBK he is welcome on behalf of all the aunties here ![]() I will stop entertaining fear, feels like my first time as I have no experience of labor pains, pushing or how I even got to hospital, my memory of the events of that day will forever remain faded. Gotta gear up....thanks a lot. About the group, it brings more closure, well we would always have this one here but most communications done offline, use this as reference. |
Bolade005:Thank you, hubby is also saying I should go for VB, he doesn't want me to have a scar on my abdomen because the old one is almost completely gone and says it will give us chance to have more kids later as this would be my last CS, doctor's advise. Will be praying on it and that bp stays normal until my baby comes so I can also experience the joy of motherhood the way God intended it to be. Thank you once again Sah. |
Good evening vigilante mamas and waddling ones. Hotmama congratulations on the birth of your baby, its time to rest well now. Senior mommy Ahnie, I've experienced sad stories of women who allow younger women/ladies to stay in their houses. Besides you have first hand experience, once bitten twice shy, for you and your daughter's peace of mind, tell uncle Alex a big fat no, reminding him what happened last year. Your happiness comes first, that was why he married you. Aunty Zaynie, Modath and all the seniors have you deliberated on my request? Erm sabi mamas who have had CS before then VB later, is there anything to fear? I had CS five years ago due to eclampsia and now my Doctor advised me on having VB, telling the pros and cons of it and I am scared!!! |
repogirl:Didn't bring out everything but it did the trick. |

ahnie:Hello ma'am. Erm mamas is it possible to have a whatsapp group like this one? Rules says they shouldn't be allowed but is it possible? There are issues we feel we can't share here due to some political issues some of us are involved in on this forum so I was wondering if we could have a more intimate place where we are free to bare it all? (Just discovered my BIL is a big shot in politics section.) Can't be mentioning names, we never know who's reading when we bare it all out. Besides whatsapp is close to us and we won't need to email anyone if we need something or wanna check up on others. In light to ma'am Beedam's checking up on other mamas last night. Senior madams Cc modath, Zaynie, Ahnie, Beedam and everyone else. |
Congratulations mamadowell, we celebrate with on this glorious day. Blessings. |
