Any Nigerian among our best is deserving I don't even think it is a federal character thing I think it is Pasiero and the nff guys that knows what's up about Sadiq Umar invitation Because if it has to be federal character we have Alhassan and Sanusi that would have make the list without raising eyebrows because they deserve to How UMAR made the list ahead of Akor or Orban is something Pasiero need to explain to us...Nigeria sport journalist should ask the Portuguese that |

I don't blame him, the coach calls the shot I was thinking this morning had it been Rohr was still super eagles Coach we would've gotten Michael Olise. With Olise and Iwobi in our AM role our midfield will be secured but this Pasiero doesn't know anything not even scouting of players and now he keep faith a goal keeper sitting on the bench weekly in Cyprus |

The shows the NFF, players and coaches understand what's going on. There is a conspiracy by the South Africans and Moroccans to eliminate us by all means possible from competitions on the continent.

Tobichimezie: Captain without a club, only in Nigeria. Whenever squad list is released on some of super eagles pages on Facebook. I see some of my northern brothers lament calling the super eagles southern nigeria team... to them as long as the player is a core northerner even if he is injured let him be called up. They see super eagles squad list as a political appointments that follows the federal character principle. Some even go wish evil for the team This shows why Umar and Musa gets invited even when not in form to please some of this peeps provision is made for this guys. Because if lot of persons could be saying this on super eagles pages on Facebook only God knows how many petitions and calls that might have been made to the NFF president. It is worrisome seeing those comments Nigeria is a very high tribalistic society...... same reason why any biased coach ridden with sentiments in the cadet level barely excel. So for Musa or Umar despite been unfit even with the former not playing for weeks he will fetch an invitee. Meritocracy will be sacrificed for mediocrity. |

TheSuperNerd: I have actually pondered on it in the case of us playing a midfield 3 which Jpes hardly considers.
'Could work if we have a CDM like Onyedika sitting and allowing Ndidi play his "LCFC role" alongside an Iwobi. In defensive transitions, he drops to support the main defensive pivot but in attacking transitions he bombs forward between the lines to create more passing options and an attack overload drawing a few defenders away to allow for more penetration from fellow advanced players.
It could work.... but... If ndidi still has his shooting booths on it will be a magical. U see the way shots against Mozambique. The 3 midfield combination will make more sense then |

chrisooblog: Boniface 100%. He and Osimhen though similar in strength and body size offer to contrasting threats to the opposition. Osimhen is a force of nature ready to deploy his own immense power and pace to unnerve his opponent. Boniface is more wit, technical skills and guile who can operate in tighter spaces.
The only issue I had with Boniface which he looks to be answering was if his finishing was consistent and elite level based on his modest numbers in the Belgian league last season.
Taiwo and Osimhen are too similar to make an excellent communication pairing.
KC is a strange one for me. He struggles in the top 9 role by himself and his playing style doesn't quite fit perfectly in the supporting forward role. Playing in the hole just behind the front 2 is probably his best position.
Umar most like Boniface but with less skill and strength.
Moffi has similar profiles to Amokachi, Yakubu, Emenike and Ighalo. Strong muscular guys with a bit of skill to them. Your analysis is SPOT ON. |

Kog45: Boniface already proved to us he can lead attack based on his form this season but really surprised seeing on the bench against Mozambique but instead it was Moffi….yes if Awo injury persists he will lose out cuz no coach will take injured player to tournament Sir one thing I have noticed about this coaches is that they reward players goal impacts alot. A player that once score for them..will likely get a nod over others that have not scored goals yet. Had it Taiwo was in that team he would have start instead. For Boniface his club form and Bayern leverkusen run this season will always fetch him an invitee. Let's say for now how well the injured players heal up and return from injury will tell how the list will look like |

forgiveness: You can see I ignored the mofo. He has shown his true color. He don't rate Awoniyi. Simply and short.
The argument no bi today. It was long before he went to Belgium. Most of them don't see good in him but me see am and defended it as at then when AWONIYI WAS NOBODY TO THEM. Dhame catch many of them seeing him do well in Bundesliga and later in EPL.
They were actually disappointed he is doing well in the EPL because they were lamenting he wasn't good enough to have joined Nottingham forest.
Now, they have seen another player who just came to limelight this season in top 5 league and they believe he is even better than Taiwo. Tueh!
Now, it's about eye test. I no fool u know. You are the mofo for arguing over someone's pick. He later asked u to make your pick but chicken out. Who told you I don't rate Awoniyi? |

I am really happy with the options we have in our midfield and attack sha Just yesterday I watched the 2013 afcon match highlights. To be honest Brothers, Enyeama really saved us in that afcon. The saves most especially against Ivory coast was legendary. We really need do something about this goal keeper issue if we must contend for AFCON. Our goalie saviour is in the NPFL not really in Europe or america. Let's try the bendel insurance goal keeper or the guy at Remo stars. This guys have the confidence and boldness to mount goal post
Comparing the 2013 afcon winning team to current team, current team seems to be more star studded up front. If it is now a player like Ideye will not make that team nor talk of starting. |

TheSuperNerd: It is possible. He can be invited. Only dent is he is not gettring as much game time at Leverkusen. Yet to start a bundesliga game but has 2 starts in the Europa League so far.
But in all, seriously speaking... Chukwueze needs serious competition on that RW. Yeah Tella is very direct. I love his style of play. Chuks is good as sub to be honest to change game tempo and inflict pains on opponents via counter attack. Not too sold on Nancho playing the RW role. Dude release balls too quick and not too tricky in ball control but not withstanding Nancho is quite versatile upfront as a 9/8/11 dude is clinical as well |
Sports › Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by humility33(m): 11:58am On Oct 20, 2023 |
TheSuperNerd: I am aware of this but again some contexts in selection will come into play. But in all, that is why I said none of the strikers hold a similar case to Osimhen. Osimhen can suffer goal drought for the entire December and still make the Afcon. He can be 75% fit and still make the Afcon. His is sealed. He is the #1 CF for top reasons.
And yes, I am so glad at least one of the midfield names I have been shouting for to be brought in to bring some balance to the team's middle game has been seen and certified good enough. That is one step passed but the next is Jpes deploying him to the benefit of the team coz I fear he will bench him eventually. Time will tell.
Onyedika is one part of the midfield puzzle. Jpes haven't attended to the rest. Yeah you're right For now oshimen and nancho spot in that CFs role is undisputed. I make Mention of the club sides also because of the blistering form of nancho and ndidi which both have transcend to the national team as well. It shows regular play time boast and affects players productivity positively. For the CFs role based on work rate Beside Oshimen and Nancho will pick Boniface and Moffi next. Both players are workaholic and can even drift to the midfield and wing play. For Taiwo he is more of a point man. I have not really seen Akor Adams play for nigeria to pass judgement. I am super happy for Onyedika. Let's say for the midfield we have Onyenka, Onyedika, Ndidi, Iwobi not sold on Fisayo yet but hopefully we see more of him next month |

Sports › Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by humility33(m): 11:43am On Oct 20, 2023 |
TheSuperNerd: The friendlies showed Boniface can also lead the attack. We saw that moments after Osimhen was withdrawn due to injury.
Against Mozambique, we saw that an absent Awoniyi is a better leadsman than Moffi as the latter seems somewhat laid back as if needing a push to really drive on as the team's arrowhead.
A fit and in-form Awo is definitely Afcon bound. But he has to be available for the November games having missed one window already. We have no time left. As things stand, Boniface is already on the plane to CIV while Awo is still 50-50 based on his recovery.
His case is not like Osimhen. Osimhen may be injured now but we all know even a 70-75% fit Osimhen available is sure for the Afcon. Same can't be said about our other strikers. Don't forget any of the strikers hitting it out in their various club sides from now till December likely will make afcon list too. U know the fans, should any of them netting 5-6 goals for their club sides in next few weeks, we'll see fans clamour for their inclusion of which Pasiero may likely yield that's how Moffi and Boniface may sweep in and for Akor Adams if he can put up a super performance against PSG definitely may fetch him a call up So like you've said for now some of this CFs chances lies in 50/50 let's wait and see how things pangs out I am so happy for Onyedika it seems he is guaranteed a spot |
Sports › Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by humility33(m): 11:38am On Oct 20, 2023 |
TheSuperNerd: Kaaaai.... understanding in this instance shouldn't be so hard. Right now, Taiwo Awoniyi isn't guaranteed a spot until he returns. Boniface is definitely heading to the Afcon. That is the reality.
18 places are assured so far. We still have about 8-10 slots to go. Or are you not confident Awo will easily get any of the other slots? The CF dept will see another CF picked aside the ones listed so far as 100% assured barring injuries.
Everything shouldn't be competition to you. Understand the context. You even wasting time reply him. A leopard never change it's spot When everyone watches football match and advocate for the selection of players with a free mind some persons will choose to elope their mind with something else as if they sharing political appointments. |
