my reason is that when the team is chasing a game ie like trying to equalize or win by breaking opposition’s defensive low block having him and iwobi in midfield will add more advantage to the team in terms of creativity

Aribo is more creative than Onyeka while the latter is more defensive minded with bigger engine to run up and down the pitch closing down opposition’s attack as well as bomb forward when required

Also aribo has eyes for goals and more dangerous when he ventures forward to the opposition’s box unlike Onyeka

The thing I like about Onyeka is that he knows how to shot from outside the 18 yard box same wit onyedika

To b honest we are covered in the midfield provided no injuries it is only left for the coach to put them at the right spot

Defensive midfielders: Alhassan and Onyedika
Attacking Midfielders/Supporting Strikers: Iwobi, Aribo and Iheanacho
Central Midfielders: Onyeka

Exactly my point. There's no way you can tell me there is no decent CF in the NPFL that can be called up as an emergency replacement.

What are the scouts doing?

A coach that could not scout a decent goal keeper from the NPFL all this while now you're expecting him to draft in a CF

What happened to Dessers and akor adams ?

The rank and file of the Super Eagles management and leadership of the NFF have contrived to put us in jeopardy. It is almost as if the Afcon came up suddenly or the Super Eagles were called in late to replace a country.

It's absolutely shocking reading Brown Ideye's tweet alleging that Sodiq was injured before coming to camp and the management was aware. They are now hustling to bring in late replacements on hitherto unbalanced team.

This reminds me of a botched friendly against Romania back in mid2000s where we couldn't field 11 players and resorted to ask the Romanian FA if they knew Nigerians playing football in the country who could be interested to play the game. grin

On a lighter note, maybe we should ask Ivory coast if there are Nigerians who play football in their country and would be interested in playing Afcon 😂

It is so pathetic

When we have Dessers, Akor Adams, orban and chuba akpom ever ready to play. This players will walk into any of the afcon team.

It is just too unfortunate. The nff and pasiero choose to put us in this mess even when it is obvious nacho is injured the oldies still stick to 25 players instead of 27

Thank God this is not only platform to follow Super Eagles eh. LOL!

In 2004, two prolific Strikers, Aiyegbeni and Agali and a legendary leftback Babayaro were expelled from Camp for indiscipline, yet we didn't fail to reach Semi-final and went home with bronze medals.

Odewingie saw an opportunity and grabbed it. Utaka saw an opportunity and didn't shy away from it, guess what - both were Wingers.

Icon4s recently reminded folks here to refresh their memory or at best ask their Elders to tell them stories of Eagles at AFCON, but they would rather keep wailing here. LOL!

If JPes still plays 4 - 4 - 2 formation, absence of Boniface, Iheanacho, Sadiq ain't gonna affect the team. In fact, its an opportunity for Iwobi to play 8, behind Osimhen, flanked by Lukman and Chukwueze plus Onyeka and Oyendika double-pivot.

If Chukwueze head not booting well, bring on Simon to replace him. I do not understand folks here to be honest. Competition starts tomorrow but gnashing of teeth full everywhere day and night.

I wish Pasiero reason like you.

Sir there is nothing in Pasiero head absolutely nothing. Whatsoever the super eagles achieve in this tourney rest on the determination and IQ of the players because they don't have a coach and he plays Uzoho, then fhey don't have a goal keeper. Pasiero is a short one already

You can imagine how stupid NFF and their fraud of a coach are? I'm so speechless.

Other countries are aspiring to have the quality of players we have while we have them in the hands of clowns fools and idiots.

What's stops them from inviting 27 players?
CAF knew there will something like this that's why it extends the number of invited players to 27

Top footballers are versatile and not restricted to just only playing one position.⚽

Douglas Luiz is classed as a defensive midfielder but his attacking contributions probably exceed most of the midfield in Villa.

Quality is not restricted by the limitations of designation.

I would rather have an attack minded DM who is versatile like Ngole Kante, Casemiro, Rice, than robotic one dimensional one.

So help us with stats to show us when last fisayo play as a DM and what was his overall contribution that day.

Mind you the super eagles needed a DM to help shield the back 4 and leaving room for any of Onyeka, Aribo, Iwobi to push forward but any way help us with Fisayo stats as a DM

He used to be a known hater of the Turkish league, calling it a retirement league, but suddenly, a Turkish league player is better than a Belgian league player because say na innit boy

The way he pass his judgement on players is baffling

If the player is an innit boy or plays in epl and accrue huge wage to him that's the best player

Dude does not even go in details to talk on players qualities and what he brings to the team.

Imagine even using Fisayo to diss a Defensive Midfielder? Who does that?

They don't play same role and moreover Alhassan replaced a DM that is like for like replacement

Alhassan is not on Fisayo level.

You see why I always say you don't know football?

The coach replaced a DM with a DM and here you're mentioning Fisayo who plays upfront in the midfield and you're evening berating Alhassan not to be on his level

You have no Idea.

You attack the personality and avoid the substance in your prejudiced 🤔 confusion.

Chukwuemeka Carney was on my radar as a quality top level box to box midfielder. That was at age 16 by 17 he was balling , football intelligence, astounded work rate, tall with physicality and outstanding technical ability.

He played for Villa first team at 18 and was outstanding, at this stage all the top EPL clubs wanted him. However, Chelsea offered him a 6 year on £100K a week. He played for Chelsea as teenager that's no mean fit.

The money 🤑 he earns is confirmation of his outstanding quality and ability.

Best players get more very simple. Money is the driving force behind football ⚽. Without money Benzema Ronaldo, etc will not be in Saudi Arabia.

Please tell me two young Nigerian playerd in midfield better than him please 🥺 Oga 2know not ❓

You see what I am talking about??

You don't knw anything besides money when it comes to football

You can't analyse a player or a team strength and weakness. You can't even talk about a team tactics, formation and team set. You can't even anaylse the player you mentioned techniques, speed, goal per match played ratio etc

To you when a player gets signed with big money and accrue huge wage it means every other thing have fallen in place and the player is better compare to those sign for less fees or not playing in england

You need to do better this year

This afcon watch the matches; analyse the teams and players afterwards leave their financial worth aside

Donkeys ago I talked about Chukwuemeka Vatnet after I watched him in the FA U18 youth cup. Dude was outstanding beyond measure.

Now he is in Chelsea on £100k a week , opportunity lost.

With respect Tim will compete with everyone one of our midfielders he is not going to be an understudy to anyone.

The only thing you know is MONEY MONEY

U don't know anything about techniques or tactics, team formation and settings. You don't know about playing style. No wonder many times here they discuss real football you're nowhere to be found

You judge players based on contract worth.

Oga there is more to football than MONEY
Some young players in Europe may play better than your Emeka and may still be getting less pay

What would it cost JPes to add Yusuf and maybe Kelechi to the squad. The midfield is thin.

That midfield need players like akpom and alhassan to get the balance

For Musa I will rather integrate him into the back room staff so as to make way for Terem

This country is just Useless,NFF,Pesiro, media are all m##.
The technical committee is headed by Equaevon. That man's head is filled with pap. All that he is obsessed with is the 1994 super eagles playing pattern. I won't be surprised if he gave this Pasiero list a nod

One of the problem of the super eagles are the unskilled ex internationals that see managing the super eagles as their birth right

Nwabili ;Osayi, Ekong, Bassey, Bruno; Ndidi(CM), Onyeadika(DM), Alex(AM); Simon (LW), Osimhen(CF), Chuks(RW) .

preferred formation 4 3 3 or 3-4 -1 -1

Midfield

Alhassan/Onyedika (DM) Ndidi/Onyeka/Iwobi(CM)

Wingers Moses Simon/LookMan(LW) Tella/Chuks(LW)

SS - Iheancho/Boniface/Iwobi/Aribo

CF - Osihmen/Umar/Terem/Dessers

But i recommend the first formation though depending on which team we're playing
