At the bolded some player failed to qualify us for world cup in Qatar, should we discard them?

I will take npfl star over Dennis Emmanuel... Oboabona was picked from the Npfl then likewise Mba... I can tell you the quality in the league now is better than then

Quality better than before and the clubs still not fairing well in CAF competitions?

Comparing they missing out on CHAN to super eagles not qualifying for the world cup shows mischief. chan should be compared to afcon.

Players that qualified nigeria for afcon should play the afcon while those that will qualify Nigeria for CHAN should play the CHAN

No he is in a wrong team. He is been misled by a greedy agent. Dude does not even know what's best for him. Someone that ought to be working on leaving Napoli by summer went ahead and be signing new contract

All join. We don't have pure AM again. In the past, players like Bruno, Odegaard, Mount, Benardo, KDB and even Iwobi would be classified as AMs but not anymore. So forget this AM talk.

Iwobi is a better AM. If given the right CM and DM to pair with. Trust me Iwobi will deliver on a good day as an AM.

Pair Iwobi with Ndidi and Alhassan and see if he won't deliver like 30/20 mins to go replace him with either Akpom/Iheancho/Boniface and see if we won't win matches

Sarcasm or no sarcasm the truth has to be said. We just don't have elite players, just "decent enough" players to get us by every now and again. Don't expect too much from this AFCON with this team if I were you

The problem is not about elite players. The problem is the coach. Stephen keshi won the AFCON with a squad less in quality than this current super eagles team

They're coaches if given this super eagles team will achieve significant success.

Get your midfield and defense right even Terem Moffi/Akor/Kelechi/Orban/Awoniyi/Sadiq etc will deliver on a good day with the right midfield

Maybe he is just the 10 we are looking for
A midfield trio of Ndidi Iwobi Onyeka

How nah?
U guys are even worst than Pasiero

Ndidi can only play CB, DM and CM

With the players you listed

Iwobi plays the AM, Ndidi CM and onyedika/Alhassan plays the DM

Something is fundamentally wrong with the triune running Nigeria’s football.

The coach, nff and sport ministry.

Alot is wrong with Nigeria foot ball even the so called ex internationals, sports journalists, sports opinion mongers in nigeria would do worse with the way they've been crying for Pasiero exclusion of home based NPFL players in the 27 man list

You mean same NPFL players that can't even help their clubs win away in CAF competitions? Same NPFL players that have fail qualify for Chan Tourney for years now? It means if they have the opportunity they will squeeze this lads into the 27 man list at the expense of players doing better in advanced leagues in Europe

Nigeria system does not encourage meritocracy..... at all

Whether his attitude is affecting Nwakali or not is not the point of discussion. It is how poor his personal behavior is and what is elyte89's take on his attitude.

You and I know so well that going by league performance Dude does not merit a place in the 27 man list at all ahead of players like Akpom and Alhassan if we wanna tick the DM position and then draft Ndidi to the CM. Then we have Iwobi/Aribo/Akpom play the AM role and somehow maybe Boniface/Iheancho play the the SS role from the midfield position

This is actually close to my prediction!
Ahmed Musa experience is needed in the team especially in competition like this where our foreign born might struggle based on January-Feb weather situations in West Africa. Awoniyi absence gave room for Musa's inclusion. The other options are not in any way better than Musa.

My only objection is the 4 goalkeepers! Remove one goalkeeper for Nwakali and we are good to go!

This team won't go anywhere. Just too unfortunate this generation of super eagles won't win any laurels. It is such a shame Pasiero and the nff have decided to ruin our chances

We are our own problem in this country. Not like Salah was even exceptional. You go pick a stranger ahead of someone who you nurtured and gave the big break.

That's the person many here are rooting for to be super eagles coach

A man that fail as a coach in Tanzania, Egypt and Zambia and even Nigeria under 20.

A complete mediocre coach

Am just so happy that Osimhen didn't go to the club that seems lately to be wrecking careers and putting exceptional players to shame. Imagine, one of the GOATs was disgraced out of the club, look at one the finest young English prospect in the Bundesliga at some point disgraced, a multiple champions league midfielder now no more relevant, or do we talk about the fine young talent from Crystal Palace so full of promise, hmmm, how about the Camerounian goalie now turned into bottomless basket? Na wa o!!!!
Osimhen, God really loves you.

Na just play o grin grin grin

In England

Arsenal, Chelsea or Newcastle (that's if Ishak leaves) is the best for him in England.

Man utd is never an option for an ambitious young lad

I also think another problem with the Nigerian league that people hardly pay attention to is fatigue occasioned by teams having to travel long distances on our bad roads to play away matches.... Imagine if shooting stars is to play Doma United, they will have to travel almost 20hrs ( that's assuming a smooth journey) by road to the match venue, and arrive a few hours to the match! That's a huge advantage for the home team already! So the best the away team can hope for is a draw.
One of the reasons why away wins are scarce in the league asides poor officiating

Hence it becomes difficult for a team to dominate the table with several points, regardless of quality

You're very right.

If the NPFL can't get some flight coys into sponsoring the league.

The league should be regionalised like in the US.

Or better still clubs travelling beyond 6 hours should be have them go by flight.

The officiating in present day NFF has improved and with results have seen so far in SA league so far showed not much difference cuz they too rely on home games.

Yes you are right the quality then was a bit high than what we have now but notwithstanding I don’t see Mamelodi achieving such results here with 4 games to play.

Can't the NPFL partner with nigeria military. The military using some youth corpers can maintain security in the stadia during matches and also be the referees.

The military or police can serve that role

If the coach wasn't an ekuke, Fulham has already giving him a blue print of the centre back combo that could bring him success, and he needs to act fast, especially as Adarabioyo doesn't require any special FIFA clearance to play for Nigeria, everything could be taken care of within a week since the boy already has a Nigerian passport.

Sir, how do we expect a big time farmer-with no passion for football and he confided in his friend when he was chosen as sport minister that he knew next to nothing abort sport, to reason?

With his statement, though I cherish and love Nigeria due to so many factors, I know at d AFCON SEs’are doomed

With all the hype around TINUBU i was expecting him to be different. A nornal smart person and one willing to manage his company well will first do a private interview of his nominated ministers to see if they fit into the roles they're picked for.

This politicians don't manage Nigeria like they will do to their ailing company maybe because they have no idea of what managing a business entails.

It is so painful that this generation of Nigeria talents will not achieve or win any continental trophy because of NFF and Sport Ministry
So painful.
Now I understand why some people advise all this foreign born players to play for their birth country.

Rarely will you find a politician or a government official that truly loves this country and will make sacrifices to make it great.
From the president down to the clerk in government house and NFF inclusive none truly care for this country
