I went to a branch close to me here and they gave me a form to fill without even confirming the SMS nor checking any list. Upon checking the form, it's a LAPO account opening and loan request.

I spoke with the guy for clarification as the scheme calls it grant and not loan but the guy grudgingly admits that it is a loan.

In my opinion, LAPO is using the opportunity to lure people to getting loans from them basically so this is indirectly a scam as federal government is not involved at all.

I think they got a list of those who applied for the federal government grant then and riding on that to lure you into loan.

So if you want to go for it, just be prepared for loan and ensure your repayment.

I have collected my money, the money is from the Federal Government and not LAPO. The Branch Manager there said she applied and wasn't given the Loan.

Please for those sending me mails, I won't be able to respond individually for the numerous mails with regards on how to go about the scholarship applications. For the application, you usually apply a year before the results are out. The one for 2023 batch is already out and you can Google to find more about it.

The necessary requirements are:
At least 2 years work experience, 2'1 or First Class Bachelor Degree, recommendation letters from Professors, English test such as IELTS or TOEFL, then you have to apply to numerous German Universities through Uniassist where you pay for the application fees etc
You can equally follow top Scholars on youtube such as Victor Agboga to get more updates on it.

As a DAAD Scholar, you don't need a block account because you are being sponsored by a German Scholarship body.

I just filled a form to open an account with LAPO... they said the money would drop next week... the money is already with them....
Although they did my biometric to confirm its same information they have on the system....

I equally filled the form yesterday and they confirmed my details on their system but they didn't tell me the day they money will drop and I have not gotten my account number. The guy on Facebook said he got his account number and money together a day after he did documentation.

Heard that some people have gotten their offer letters. Congratulations to them.

Call the number given to you by LAPO... I will advise everyone that got the SMS... Go and collect your money oh.....before it enters voicemail..... I have gone to LAPO microfinance and processed mine... Mine was under SME which is 450k...
Note::: when you get to the recommended branch ensure to check ur name under SME list and INDIVIDUAL list... Because the funding is classified into two different list... Individual and SME.....

Pls take the scholarship, you won't be paying for the Masters out of your pocket. So, why not?

I think a scholarship/Masters overseas will be a more worthwhile experience than an engineering job in Naija.
