What the guy is carrying on his head are the biogas kits needed to install a unit. They have shipped it to many countries. I have issues with Ethanol production from maize because it competes with food consumption.....maize as food is already expensive for human consumption.

i understand on that ethanol issue. can you teach me how to make that digester sir?

The dome system is not as effective as the Flexi biogas system being deployed by a Kenyan firm, Visit their Facebook page: https://web.facebook.com/flexi.biogas

You will realize the dome system is expensive and ancient! The domestic flexi biogas system can be installed within 2 hours and by the 6th/7th day one can start cooking with the gas generated.

I have always known Kenyans are so advanced in Biogas production. Did you say 2 hours? Oh my God. oh my country. What do you think of Ethanol production from maize algae tree shreds etc. That is also a good source of energy

If casava peels is used. I don't think the rate of decay will be higher.May be if it is ground or 'enzyme' is added to it!

Yes I think Microbes like Yeast would be used to fasten the reaction

Actually while you generate gas, you also generate bio-slurry which is a potent organic fertilizer.

you are good sir! I wonder why this energy is not been used so much in Nigeria. I know there is a digester in Yabatech. I read about it in am environmental management textbook. I just wish we reduce our dependence on hydro power. Another source is hybridized energy. I mean combination of solar and wind.

We need to expand our minds. Biogas digesters needs to be set up around garri producing communities, to provide heat for frying garri and reduce the dependence on firewood. The women frying the garri will be happy of no longer having to deal with the smoke from the firewood. The digesters are fed with the cassava peels generated during peeling likewise other farm wastes. "i better pass my neighbour" sized generator that runs on biogas can charge the phones of these women while they work!.....We need to expand our minds!

I tell you sir. I make research on this type of energy and i must say i have learnt a lot. it further reduces pollution as some of these 'wastes' can be reused into meaningful things. cow dungs and poultry wastes that people throw away are good sources also. If only they can know that. These are also avenues to make cool cash and other countries like America, China and other Asian countries are already tapping into it.

It can generate electricity by powering a generator that is 80% biogas and 20% diesel. I have seen it being used in a welding project in an energy centre in Nairobi.

Exactly sir. You are very correct. The only renewable energy Nigerians know is solar

Take the course given to you and don't waste your time any longer.. In the coming years some courses will have market value than others and the earlier one get to know the better.
Also there is no situation a focus person find himself that he cannot use the opportunity to benefit himself and his society at large.
Aquaculture and Fisheries management will give you assess to be your own employer even before graduating if you know what you are doing.. Start what you are been taught in school by establishing your own fish farming even if it's a small scale for now, it will be beneficial to you,your family and your immediate environment..

Thanks. I have always had a thing for entrepreneurship but for once has the thought of owning a fish farm crossed my mind. I chose biochemistry as a stepping stone before i move into entrepreneurship but now it's entrepreneurship or nothing. Even those with no university degree own fish farms now. I don't know if you are getting my point.

Hello! Please i need advice from people who have been in my shoes before, know someone who has been in the same situation or just experienced enough. I chose Biochemistry in one of the top universities in Nigeria. I was given Aquaculture and Fisheries management instead which has never even crossed my mind before. I don't know if i should take it as this is my second jamb. I wasn't given the same Biochemistry last year even though i had just one mark below cutoff (55 instead of 56). I don't want to stay at home again and i am even looking at the possibility of Biochemistry not my destined course (if there is anything like that) as this is my second year of chasing it and not getting it

Parents should be careful with the things they allow their children watch on tv. They should also be mindful of who they play with. I tell you i have seen a small girl running to press a mature man's organ while playing even when the guy kept on pushing her away. And her mother was there laughing
