I am begnning to think you are a Humanist or some one opting for some type of syncretic universal religion for clarity. Those will fail. There are no moral relativsms in a world where true beliefs are defined by Absolutes. The real world that is. I cannot wake up tommorow and convince myself that I am a woman, the ground is the sky and the moon is the sun. No. Certain physical laws are so fixed and consistent. Certain Spirtual Laws are so fixed and consistent also. It has been consistently proven through out the ages that these Supernaural events conform to the identity of a single Person's name: Humans are healed. Demons are cast out. Peace is restored. Wisdom is found. ---through the name of Jesus Christ. Even the stability and economic progress experienced by more mature democracies (it will shock you to realize) is as a result of their prolonged exposure to Judaeo-Christian thought and values...the same values they also take for granted today. The moral and societal ills you mentioned is noteworthy...but I dare say to you that today, if you have a very good case, an American or European could be sentenced to jail term if found guilty based on their laws--favoring even you. This is not so in Arab, Chinese or some other country with less exposure to Christian values.

Faith. Love. Truth. Hope. Good. Salvation. Those are not just abstract ideas. Those are qualities of a Person. And Jesus was bold enough to assert those attributes to Himsef ("I am the Way, the Truth and the Life...no one Comes to the Father except through Me." --John 14:6)

No other religion or faith has a central Person making such a claim. If Jesus says I am the Ressurection and the Life....and goes ahead to prove the same....then it means there is something much more to what He is sating. Why is Death a result of the curse from sin? Why did Jesus defeat death by being sinless? And why is He qualified to advocate for humans as the High Priest in Heaven who sympathizes with our weaknesses since He was also tempted in all points too like we are yet remained sinless?

Yes God is Omniscient. He knows every choice every human yet born in a thousand years will make even before those humans exist. He know the choices you will mke tomorrow too even before you make them. But do you know why He would not stop people from making those choices even if those choices are bad and evil.

Free will is actually a "test". A Turing test for not just a moral inclination....but a test for what the heart truly truly loves.

God is Love. Meaning....He cannot FORCE you to Love Him. He gives you a choice. Why did God put the tree of the knowledge of Good and Evil in the Garden of Eden? Because he is simply allowing the creation called Man to make a choice each and everyday to prove their love for Him by the simple test of obedience: NOT eating of that fruit. However, you know how the story goes....Satan inhabits a snake and helps to tilt the first humans away from God by disobeying that test.

Did God know Adam and Eve will fail. Yes. Did God know Lucifer will be Satan....yes. Did God know the first humans will be tested and will fail. Yes.

Why did He allow all that?

If you have ever read the Book of Job and notice (including some other parts of Scripture) where Satan is allowed to come before God's throne and make a stronge case before God and the angels....it will shock you to realize that way before human courts ever existed in their current forms to allow a Judge listen to an Accuser and a Defendent....the court in heaven today functions in almost a similar manner.

In the court of heaven right now....every single human soul is presented before God. If that person had surrendered their life to Jesus Christ...He being the Advocate will defend that soul from certain destruction. But Satan the Accuser is also building a case with all your faults and guilts to make sure you remain condemned. Interestingly, can you find the Advocate/Accuser duality that is actually rigged in your favour only if you repent and believe in Christ....present in any other world belief system? No.

Yes God permits certain evils to happen (referring to the Scripture you quoted) but it appears that Satan is the principal agent executing that evil like it was in the case of Job and even Paul. Satan wanted to prove a point that all humans are selfish and evil like him when misfortune befalls them. God wanted to prove otherwise. But even though Satan is allowed by God to execute those evil tasks.....God makes the ground rules and puts limitations on what Satan can or cannot do to a human being, family, community or nation.

Why does Satan exist? Think of it this way...just the way God must have given the first humans a simple rule to prove their love for Him....the angelic beings must have also received a similar rule to prove their devotion for God. I do not fully know what that is. But reading from Scripture it started with pride. Lucifer's beauty and position elevated him above other angels and he was expected to receive all those praises from all of God's creation and simply like a mirror channel those worship and praises to God and God alone. But the moment Lucifer chose to turn those praises and worship that should go to God only to Himself....God withdrew His glory for him and then he turned very evil. The angels who behaved like he did also turned to be like him.

Now you know why coups in many countries still happen. The desire for power and glory.

God is omniscient....yet He allows thnigs and situations to naturally play out for our sakes. Because we still do not know everything and are so limited. And in this all...He proves that He is faithful and still full of Love. Peter thought he would die fighting to protect Christ from arrest, hmiliation and death. Yet Christ told Peter that he will betray him after a rooster crows three times. This was after telling Peter that Satan had actually requested for Peter to be able to "sift him as wheat". Do you know what all that means? Jesus being God knew the future and also knew the outcome of Peter's choices when faced with a fiery trial. Just the way Satan approached Job and asked for permission to put Job in a critcal test....Satan also approached Jesus and asked for the permission to put Peter in a critical test of his faith.

In the hierarchy of Divine Power...who do you think Satan fears most and will even ask for permisiion before daring to unleash any evil?

Put Jesus to the test too and ask Him to prove Himself to you. He surely will.

I believe in higher power or existence of God and I believe that anyone irrespective of his religion can have access to this metaphysical power and having a different religion or process doesn't make him or her evil but most supernatural claims are fake or delusions.

I also believe that most human activities cannot be changed by prayer but by individuals resources, activities like exam ,games , businesses etc .

Empires have risen,flourish and fallen before the advent of Judeo-Christian religions which simply means that these events are not brought by these religions .

China is said to have surpassed USA economy now even with less debt and they're more Buddhists .

People have seek for hope when they're in despair and religion doesn't have exclusive rights to give people hope ,love etc . In fact religion is taking advantage of people,clergy will tell members to pray when they need help but ask members to contribute when clergy needs help ,several clergy live lavishly from tithes and donations while members are in penury . If you see someone that needs help and you help him ,you didn't help him because of religion but because of humanity which means that human are capable of love ,hope and other goodness without religion directives . In fact ,many irreligious billionaires donate more while several billionaire clergy are misers.

There are certain laws that guides our universe ,that's different. In spirituality or morality ,that's subjective and the way God relate with individuals is based on their capabilities.

Anybody can make claims ,that's why we have several charlatans everywhere and that's why we have peer review process before anything theory can become law . I'm not saying what Jesus said is not true but how can we verify but not rely on single source? And most of the thing you spoke about were only written in the Bible (Bible was written and collated by people like us which means there's tendency for infirmities,you can google council of Nicea for further information) and books like book of Barnabas that wasn't included says Jesus didn't die and rise while Quran another religious book says he didn't die and rise . We also know that there's temporal death and several people in history have claimed to have died and risen what the Yorubas call "Apaji" .


If God knows that's Adam and Eve will eat the fruit ,he shouldn't have put the fruit there in the first place ,if he did ,he's responsible for their fall and they don't deserve punishment. Men make decisions with their brain or heart which is created by God ,which means God is responsible for every decision therefore invalidating free will again .

If God knows that Mr A will be a sinner and won't accept redemption but went on to create him ,then God is responsible for such person . The idea that God tests men to see the level of their faith invalidate omniscience because God should have known the outcome already .

Pride is a sin which enabled Lucifer to commit , without Satan pride won't exist which means this is a paradox except God put pride into Satan .

If Lucifer could rebel in heaven and attempted coup,then it means that heaven is not perfect and things could go wrong there .

So your model of pre-Christian liberal thought failed the test since they either killed the most logical thinker for corrupting the Youth and exiled his pupil for criticiing the government.

The African societies (and this includes your liberal ethnic Yoruba ones) did not practice the Freedom of Speech found in the context of Modern Democracies. If you were born 200 years ago....I would dare you to criticize your local king or council. I bet you will face severe punishment or even death for holding a different opinion.

I will not dare say that the Gulf States you mentioned are the true bastions of liberal progress or democracy. Try putting yourself in the shoes of a migrant worker from South Asia living in the same country. Why we assert that the Judaeo-Christian framework preserves a democratic context even superior to what the Greeks started is simply because there are no inherent attributions or rights just for being born in a certain place or nation. Meanng....You are not a Christian just because your parents or society is Christian. You need to first understand what it means to be a Christian when you are old enough and then understand who Jesus is and why He died on the Cross. Then you consciously make the decision to allow Him into your life...or not. This is not so in Muslim societies and certainly not so in traditional African societies including the Yoruba ones.

Second off...Paul may be human. But Jesus Christ certainly is not merely human like Paul. He is both Human and God. You can debate this....but for those who placed their faith in Him for Salvation...were able to supernaturally overcome a lot of sinful habits, addictions, suicidal tendencies, and all manners filthy and bad habits in a way no ordinary human will power could do. Further to that....so many miracles attributed to the name of Jesus even today and supported by scientific evidence just goes further to prove that Jesus is not another ordinary man.

The third big mistake you made is trying to conflate or merge together two different realities. The reality of Free Will and that of Predestination. The concept of Predestination can be controversial especially in Calvinist circles today sicne it presupposes God overrides human free will. Ok. Let us put it this way. God is Omniscient. HE knows everything from beginning to end and end to beginning. So He knows the outcome of each human choice before we make them. Yes. HOWEVER....humans are not omniscient. Try to track your thoughts even for One full minute. There is no way you can predict what would occupy your mind even in the next 30 seconds. The more you try to force yourself to think of only Apples or Oranges....the more you see powerful forces in your mind forcing you to think of something else. And being human prone to sin....you may even find yourself thinking about something forbidden for you to even think about. If you are married and you tell yourself....I want to only think of loving tender thoughts about my wife for the next 5 minutes. Guess what? Massive Powerful Contrary thoughts will begin to push your mind to think of other women and might even begin to make you lust after them.

The real issue here is that there are certain things that are just our of your control. Yes...people are free to do whatever they want. But noble ideals like Goodness and being Good forces us to think from a higher realm that separates us from animals. It is here we simply realize that we are unable to be Truly and Honestly be REALLY GOOD the way God is. We fail!!

Yet...God knows the outcome of each of our choices in the future even before we made them. And He also knows if we ever respond to the inner prompting to seek for help. There are many teens who grow up in their chaotic years feeling depressed. Many who sought refuge in the Church and prayer and placed their hopes in Jesus Christ...got freed. Others who did not respond to the prompting to surrender their lives to God....simply yielded to those darker forces which made them quit their lives. So even before these teenagers were born....God forknew which of them will seek help and get freed from their suicidal thoughts and those who wil[img][/img]l surrender to the forces of darkness and die. But did God predestine each outcome?

God certainly DRAWS people to Himself through Jesus Christ. But he gives the power to respond by faith to the human being. The choice remains yours. But I will say that in some very unique situations....when you have worried Granmother or mother praying for her child or granchild to be saved....God could honor prayers made of faith to SUPERNATURALLY intervene and do something drastic to get the attention of someone in a way that certainly "tilts" their decisions towards the right direction. Towards Him.

In many Muslim nations and yes even Iran....many people are having visions about Jesus Christ and this shatters their world view in ways that affects them in their real life. This is why Iran has so many underground Churches with people turning to Christ. Just like China.

Can you recall the challenge I made to you earlier? Try to think of something Holy and Heavenly for Five minutes....yet you find images of pornnography, vanity and all types of fleshly lusts dominate your mind the more? In very simple terms....those distracting thoughts and emotions that are trying to affect your mind and free will are not mere outcomes of natural urges in most cases. The more you desire Good...the more Evil entrenches and fixes deep in your heart as if telling you...how dare you try to be better. Those dark forces tilting you away towards EVil are most times personifed by who the Bible calles "The Adversary", "The Opposer" or "The Accuser of the Brethren". Satan exists as a Being with a poweful force to PUSH YOU AWAY from anything to do with God and to do with Good.

Who created Satan? Lucifer was not created to be evil. Yet the moment he began to desire the Glory that should go to God for himself...he fell and the dark selfish forces within him took over him. Read the whole of Ezekiel 28, and Isaiah 14:12

The reason why God is Good is because He selflessly loves His creation and holds everything together by His Power and Love. He proves His love for His creation by dying on the Cross to save them. Satan the adversary is busy not only being selfish but also making sure the entire mankind live entirely driven by same selfish desires and self-destructive hate that pushes one far away from God.

Good and Evil exists and are so powerful in the real world because GOD and Satan exist.

You're right about Socrates being killed for having different religious opinions but that doesn't invalidate my position that Rome was taunted as a liberal country as even posited in your response and modern Western countries draw their inspiration from Rome .

To talk about free speech in Christianity, Protestantism came to be from protest against the Catholic church and led to several deaths of fellow Christians . Christians talk about persecution when they're in small number but turn to terror when they are in high number ,if Christianity supports free speech ,they won't abuse traditional worshippers or burn their statues or go against pioneers like Charles Darwin and Galileo etc .

Racism is not exclusive to Arab nations only ,there's racism in US ,UK etc , Argentina wiped out it's black population and Israel injected Ethiopian Jews in a bid to exterminate them .

In fact there was racial classism in US not until people like MLK fought for their rights .

Whatever way you described being Christian is subjective because when they're counting Christians in the world ,they won't ask for other parameters except if you're a praticing Christian and I can bet that almost all Christians in the world today are born into Christian family,if they're born into Muslim family or Jewish family or Buddhism family ,that will be the religion they will be praticing.

As many people are converting to Christianity even in unfriendly environment to the extent of hiding underground to worship doesn't mean people are not converting from Christianity to other religions or becoming irreligious.

If Paul is human like us ,why should I hold his word as standard when there's no "peer review" or accurate analysis of what he said when God is universal ? Also ,there are many people that claim to be a God or were referred to as God so Jesus doesn't have that sole title,in fact , Alexander the great was called God or son of God ,the title he got from Egypt ,the same Egypt Jesus was taken to .Alexander the great existed about 300 years before Jesus and he's the first person to have claim to conquer the world which he actually did literally . I asked you a question which you've not answer,if Satan is responsible for sin ,what was responsible for Lucifer to sin in the fist place, since sin didn't exist before Lucifer attempted to overthrow God and subsequently becoming Satan .

People life could get changed by anything ,for instance ,most western countries are less religious compared to us in Nigeria and Africa but they have better society,most rich people don't believe in any religion but they're doing ok . There's UN charter for human rights. Morality is subjective based on exposures and environments . For instance polygamy is not bad in Nigeria but homosexual is , homosexualism is not bad in western nations but polygamy is bad . Alcohol for instance is bad for health same as cigarette and medical outreach can caution people not religion. It takes a conscious mind to live "good" . Several religious people are committing crimes and getting involved in "petty sins" like lying ,stealing everyday .

Even in the same religion ,there are different sects that practice different doctrines ,that's to tell us that morals , behaviours and characters are subjective and countries with less religious beliefs are cooler than overly religious countries .

God is created by human understanding of what they observe that's why the idea of God is incomplete or imperfect in all religions.

You said that there is nothing like FREE WILL because of omniscience--which is FALSE. Omniscience--which is the capacity to KNOW EVERYTING is a quality only reserved for a Superior DIvine Being or a God. Humans (with the knowledge of Good and Evil) now have the opportunity to CHOOSE what type of knowledge they choose to identify or define themselves by. No human knows everything....but the ability to CHOOSE or FREE WILL is a quality every "normal" human should have. I mention "normal" because what we see the sinful condition in every human doing today is actually reinforcing itself and creating massive emotional and mental imbalances in most human minds today---to the point that once an addiction or a bad habit takes deep root in the heart and mind....the human's ability to freely CHOOSE is gradually and fully lost. Sin robs humans of their free will as you increasingly find out that even though you desire and want to do good....you find yourself increasingly DOING THE OPPOSITE. Paul in the Book of Romans describes this bondage to sin and the loss of free will very perfectly.

Only Jesus can give the willing human the ability to have TRUE FREE WILL as it was designed by God in the beginning. Free will being the ability to choose GOOD over evil and act on it without any friction or impedence.

No one and nothing else in this world can give the human true free will. Only Jesus Chirst can set any human "free".

It's erroneous to ascribe free speech to judeo Christian religions .

Christianity began about 2000 years ago but kingdom and empires like Roman Empire , Macedonia etc that predated Christianity have been practising free speech.

That's why the most popular philosophers like Socrates , Aristotle etc came from there .

The same applies to Africa as well ,for instance in old Yoruba empires like Ife and Oyo ,they had committee that regulate king power to prevent abuse and that's why they still practice liberalism today compared to the north .



In a nutshell , liberalism is more of culture rather than religion .


UAE and Qatar are dominant Muslim countries but they're more liberal compared to Muslim countries like Afghanistan.

While giving countries with popular atheistic tendencies example ,you should have given examples like Scandinavian countries. I've never seen or heard a country that kills or persecute people because they're not atheist or irreligious. China is predominantly Buddhism,same thing that was practiced in South Korea .

Let me give you example of how free will and omniscience can't work together . God is said to be omniscient that created humans and gave this humans free will to choose . If God is Omniscient,he will know everything,he's the alpha and the Omega ,that is ,he already knows the end point from the beginning( reference to Jeremiah 1:5) . Now if a man has free will ,he can choose between different options but let's limit it to 2 options ,if he chooses A ,there will an outcome ,if he chooses B there will be a different outcome ,if God is Omniscient,he would have known the option the man will choose ,if he doesn't know ,then he doesn't know everything and he's not Omniscient. Therefore the ability to choose is just an illusion because God already knows what he will choose .

Talking about sin ,if Devil makes us to sin ,who or what made devil to commit his own sin that made him fall in the first place ?

If God is Omniscient,he knows each man and what they will become therefore,the idea of sending Jesus to appease himself is ludicrous because each man has his fate sealed even before he was formed .

Paul and Jesus are humans like us and they have tendencies to be faulty in their thoughts . That's another reason religion should be scrapped cos some knowledge and doings of 2000 years ago is no longer valid or perfect today

Precisely. Talks of Ports always reek of ignorance to me. People forget we'd be in total control of our resources and economic direction under regional governance. No region has planned for regional governance more than the progressive Yorubas.

People should go and read the comprehensive and full version of the Dawn initiative road map for SW integration written circa 2013.
