don't be a fool ,a low paid police that faces danger everyday for the sake of citizens and have the highest exposure risk to bribery has more tendencies to be corrupt than a teacher or other civil servants with low pay .

I've had encounters with policemen several times and I consider their judgement fair in all except the request for bail .

I was once stopped by policemen at Ibadan Abeokuta road . They searched everyone in the space wagon including myself . One of them asked me to open my phone which I complied . I know that they don't have the right to my phone but I understand there's a lot of young guys that are involved in cyber crime and it's hard to get warrant to search every one .

They left me when they couldn't find anything and apologized for the inconveniences.

In as much as there's police brutality, resisting arrest is an offence and can be termed that you have something to hide .

Nigeria police are trying despite the pressure on them like low pay,lack of incentives,few policemen compared to citizens numbers,outdated equipment etc .

Just to add to it ,it will be good if NASS can authorise private security personnel to carry arms so that way VIPs won't rely on Nigeria force for protection.

I love this Southern consolidation.

The South should increase productivity and security .

Many youths want to go into agriculture but they lack funds and government resources are mostly for those that have already started up .
There should be grants for those with well thought plan/theory,this will reduce japawaves and crimes like cyber fraud , prostitution,drug peddling,money ritual just to have funds to finance their dreams.

Those that have funds are scared of insecurity like Fulani herdsmen therefore security should be prioritised.

The areas where posh gated estates exist are built on leased lands owned by the Yoruba indigenes who have Oba's (or traditional kings) ruling all those areas. At the end of the lease period, the properties will be DEMOLISHED and the leased lands will be taken back by the Yoruba indigenes and/or the Lagos State government depending on who they got the lands from if they refuse to RENEW the lease. I was at an international conference at Sheraton Hotel in Maryland over fifteen years ago and the young male comedian who came on stage cracked the usual stereotypical dry joke in a mix of pidgin English and English about Yorubas "who too dey fear" and Ibos "who no dey fear" and he got some murmurs and negative feedback from the crowd. His accent sounded very funny so some guests laughed it off. At the end of the program, I saw the young male comedian (who was then in his twenties) and we both talked. He told me he is from Anambra State and I told him NOT to ever crack that kind of ethnic joke that was insulting and condescending because it would put off those who might want to use his services later. He bowed respectfully to me and apologized for cracking that silly joke. His accent was funny though and he was indeed good with some of his joke deliveries. These ethnic stereotypes must NEVER be allowed at public events or anywhere at all. They start off as false beer parlor stories or family gists by some bigoted parents from homes before spreading to schools and the larger societies.[/b]


There are CULTURAL differences worldwide and many ethnic groups detest people who are VERY loud and NOT humble, thereby leading to a culture clash.
