Some thugs have invaded St. Bridget Catholic Church ljesha, Surulere Lagos, and carted away registration machines and disrupted officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission from registering people for the permanent voter card (PVC).

As at the time of filing this report, the Parish Priest of the church this reportedly locked up the church while people who came out to get registered scampered for safety.

A resident of the area who pleaded anonymity told Vanguard that the thugs invaded the venue, saying they wouldn’t be allowed to register because they won’t vote for their (thugs) candidate.

He claimed they destroyed INEC materials and carted away some registration items.

He added that the police have been mobilised to the area to prevent further breakdown of law and order

The Vice Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Kabiru Masari has informed the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) of the loss of his original certificates.
This is coming amidst controversy around the primary and secondary school certificates of the party’s presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu. According to Nigerian Tribune, Masari in the credentials submitted to the electoral body attached an affidavit that he has lost his primary and secondary schools certificates. Masari noted that he attended Masari Primary school, Katsina State between 1972-78 and obtained a Grade 2 Certificate from Katsina Teachers College in 1982 and a Higher Certificate in 1995. The APC vice presidential candidate in the affidavit claimed that while on transit within Wuse, Area FCT, Abuja he lost his Certificate of Occupancy for land located in GRA, Katsina along with his Grade 2 Certificate from Katsina Teachers College and First Leaving Primary School Certificate issued by Masari Primary School, Katsina State, (1972-78). According to the extract from Police Diary obtained from Divisional Police Headquarter, Wuse Zone 3, Abuja attached to his particulars, “he further stated that all efforts made to trace the items proved abortive. “The complainant is issued with Police Extract and informed that the extract is not a substitute for the lost items and was advised to go to any competent court of law to swear to an affidavit to enable him to get a replacement from the issuing authority.” Masari’s affidavit read in part: “Ibrahim Kabiru Masari, male, Muslim, Nigerian citizen of Abubakar Rimi Crescent, National Assembly Quarters, Apo, FCT– Abuja, declare an oath and state as follows: “That I am the above-named persons and bonafide owner of the under-listed documents; “That sometimes in January 2021, while on transit within Wuse Area, FCT– Abuja, I discovered that my original Certificate of Occupancy of plot NoKT 17522, GRA Katsina Estate; Certificate of Kaduna State Development Centre from 1994-95; Grade 11 Certificate from Katsina Teachers College from 1979-83 and First Leaving School Certificate issued by Masari Primary School Katsina State from 1972-78 got lost; “That all efforts made to trace the documents proved abortive hence this affidavit. “That this affidavit is required for record purpose and for all authorities and persons concerned to take note. “That I make this declaration conscientiously, believing same to be true and by Oath Act 2004 LFN.

Hello Nairalanders.

I feel like seeking your advise about how I can accelerate the process of returning the money that I guess was wrongly transferred to my personal bank account.

About two months ago, I received credit alert of about ₦200k in one of my savings accounts. Based on the narration of the credit alert, it shows that It was done through ATM and I did not do any transaction to have been expecting such money.
I have been expecting to get alert for reversal of the transaction but the money is still sitting in my bank account.

I have also been expecting my banker to have contacted me for approval to reverse the transaction but I have not been contacted by my banker.

I was considering the option of complaining to my banker to trace the owner from their ends but some people discouraged me from doing so; stating that those bankers may conspire with someone and falsely claim the money.

I have been thinking of possibilities of tracing the owner by myself but credit alert did not state the details of the account from which the money was transferred to my bank account.

I am feeling concerned for the person who did the transfer because his fund has been tied down.

A banker told me that the owner must have complained to his/her bank but banks ways of attending to the customers complain is slow but definitely they will contact me for reversal.

Do I keep my fingers crossed and be expecting my banker to contact me for reversal approval?
or
Complain to my banker to help me locate the owner of the transaction?

Or any other suggestions will be welcome from you but my objective is to hasten process of returning the money to the true owner.

In 2019 I mistakenly transferred the sum of 215000 to one Amos Ojomo in First bank. I tried to get the money back but never did.
