Many of you don't know the authority OBJ commands outside Nigeria but his people often mock him over inability to win polling units during election.

Well a prophet is not appreciated in his own land.

Despite all these no Nigerian president has commanded as much progress as OBJ's democratic era...

That's what I have been telling the "Nigeria held us back" crew. If you get visionary and sincere leaders, no system can hold them back, they would find a way around all obstacles.
For example, to beat the states must "feed the national grid" law, don't pass through the national grid, don't use the transmission lines. Just create clusters - industrial, commercial or social clusters and the generate power locally to those clusters. Some private companies are doing it.

To beat the 13% derivation law, create oil companies and bid and obtain oil licences in your state. If the state own or partnered companies drill it's own oil, it will receive 40% share of crude sales along with 13% derivation.

As I also say, it is only a bad workmen that quarrels with his tools, good workmen perform wonders with bad tools.
Thank you sir.

Lol this guy sef. If I follow u d way ur body dey shake like jelly fish, na ban I go chop.

If not for the fraudulent aim and objectives, why would the federal government own the lands and it's oil? In the US, that is not so.

Which oil north get ? Keep deceiving yourself. Oil that is not in commercial quantity. Make God answer una prayers so that una go divide the country make every person go their way cos everyone knows the only thing u guys are waiting for is to discover oil.

If it means sucking up all the oil in the south to make that happen, may your wishes be done.

The south where I come from are resourceful enough to survive without oil... It is very evident in the way we have always done things in comparison to you guys.

Not that it can't be done... Not that is not possible but due to geological hazards, it is not advised.

you see why some of you need to keep up with current trends?

Besides, hydro is not the only means of generating power. Dams can be created in the south with good technological workings. we have more than enough water to make that happen. you can fool your people up NORTH.

yes. but to salvage the situation can be done. the south has the human resources which is the most important of all. we just have leaders who are there to steal money. and very useless politicians.

well. in this kind of situation we have to be creative. because if we dont do that, we would eventually become like the NORTH. impoverished both educationally and other wise. it would get to a point when most southern dudes would leave Nigeria in droves. Nigeria is getting worse as they day goes by.

Yeah. they did this so that we all can move at their pace and level. because if other states are allowed to grown, then we would see the real reason why Nigeria should have never been a Nation.
it is no fault of anyone if they are not ambitious enough to compete with their peers. God gave us equal hands, legs and brains. must we continue to feed these over grown babies? what are our leaders doing?

No I think u missing d point here.
In Nigeria today, anyone can obtain power generating license n generate, but u can't transmit n distribute. Because transmission n distribution of power is still besically controlled by FG.

Dangote n any other company or persons can generate n use power just like u do in ur house.

So the concern is that when u generate as a state now, u can't transmit n distribute within ur state, u still have to sell/supply to natl grid first.
Which is palpably counterproductive to economically progressive states.

I know that the govt had to recently adjust d power act, so that a company can directly approach n buy power from a gen station, once ur consumption is up to a certain level. Hence y more generating stations ar cropping up in some industrial zones, like shell n winners chapel in Sango ota, Geometric power in Nnewi n Aba etc.
This was even necessitated when it became so embarrassing to everyone
Okay, do these new companies that are cropping up as you stated retain the power they generate or send to national grid? if it is the latter, then I think we need to put a stop to it to help attain sustainable constant power supply within the region that generates the power supply.
PoliticsRe: Why Do We Send Generated Power To National Grid And Receive A Fraction? by I888(op): 2:08pm On Mar 19, 2019
soulpeppersoup:
Do you know that Dangote's companies don't use PHCN. They are all powered by independent power stations built by him. And non of those stations generate less than 400 mw of electricity.

Are they connected to the national grid? No!

The richer you get, the flexible the laws
In another fora, someone mentioned off grid electricity, does Dangote's fall into this category? Thank you for your time.

PoliticsWhy Do We Send Generated Power To National Grid And Receive A Fraction? by I888(op): 1:19pm On Mar 19, 2019
It is no longer news that in case where the federal government fails to generate power, if you have the financial muscle to establish and generate electricity for your community, you are, by law, forced to send all the generated electricity to the national grid and receive a fraction of the electricity.

It is a like a case where the government have failed to provide pipe borne water for your community and you decide to drill the bore hole so that your community can have drinkable water, then the federal government by law tells you that you must send all the water to the national reservoirs and get a fraction in return for your community use.

I may be technically deficient in this area, hence I seek to be enlightened by technical minds.

Why can't the generated power remain with the people who have generated this for their use? Why does it have to be sent to the national grid?
