ignis:I just feel, people at the helm of leadership & Covid19 affairs in our country are somehow confused though. Too much contradiction and drama here and there! Only divine intervention can rescue us. |
Lagos state Commissioner for Health, Akin Abayomi, has said the state has no policy against the release of COVID-19 corpses to family members for burial. Abayomi stated this during a press briefing this afternoon. He made the clarification after a journalist at the press briefing asked why the body of former Chief of Staff to President Buhari, Abba Kyari, was released for burial when the Minister of Infiormation and Culture, Lai Mohammed , initially stated that corpses of persons who tested positive for COVID-19, will not be released to families for burial because they are contagious and could increase the spread of the virus. The Commissioner said Lagos state holds no policy of withholding bodies of deceased Coronavirus patients. According to the Commissioner, the bodies of patients with the infectious disease can be released after certain procedures have been followed. “There is no policy against the release of the deceased with COVID-19 in terms of release for burial. If you demise from any condition, there’s protocol to manage every scenario. The protocol for managing death from COVID-19 is that the body is decontaminated. The body is then placed in a special body bag. We put them in two body bags and then place within a coffin and the coffin is sealed. The family is then given the opportunity to come and collect the body and take for burial. The only restriction around burial is that you follow the current state law on congregations and that no more than 25 people in total, including the religious members of the ceremony and the grave diggers, do not exceed 25[attend the burial].” he said. As the Ramadan fast begins later this week , Saudi Arabia’ s Council of Senior Scholars has urged Muslims around the world to pray at home if they reside in countries that have imposed lockdowns or curfews to curb the coronavirus outbreak . The Saudi Press Agency reported on Sunday that the authorities advised Muslims to partake in their religious practices , such as praying but refrain from causing harm to others . “ Muslims should set an example by performing their religious duties while adhering to the preventative and precautionary measures issued by relevant authorities in the countries they live in , ” the council admonished in a statement . The scholars urged Muslims to avoid gatherings which they said were the main cause of the spread of the infection . “ Muslims shall avoid gatherings because they are the main cause of the spread of infection and shall remember that preserving the lives of people is a great act that brings them closer to God ,” the council noted. The kingdom ’s Grand Mufti Sheikh Abdulaziz Al al- Sheikh expressed the same sentiment on Friday . He said that Muslim prayers during Ramadan and for the subsequent Eid al-Fitr feast should be performed at home if the coronavirus outbreak continues. Saudi Arabia has reported 8 ,274 cases of COVID- 19 and 92 deaths so far , the highest among the six Gulf Arab states with the total number of cases in the region being 24 ,374 with 156 deaths . The Saudi government in mid -March stopped people performing daily prayers and the weekly Friday prayer inside mosques as part of efforts to curb the spread of the disease. Last week , the Prophet ’s Mosque in the holy city of Medina said it was banning events that dispense evening meals in the mosque to those in need during Ramadan to break their daily fast . Several other Islamic countries including Egypt and the United Arab Emirates have suspended group prayers in mosques until further notice to slow the spread of the virus. Northurmate:It's a very welcome development. Especially in a rainy days like this. |
Anon9191:Yes, it might be. But I remember vividly that 11yrs ago, we were quite helpless and later adopted to this weird event. lost contact with the dude though. |
Xucxex1997:I think the statement here is quite simple & logical at the same time, judgement after death, simply signifies that there will be no more room for repentance - therefore, what awaits the death at that particular moment, is JUDGEMENT. Which will be as a result of the second coming of Jesus Christ. |
you just nailed it! |
Back in secondary school days, I had this bunk mate that always cry at middle of the night while sleeping. Like audible cry without tires coming out from his eyes. This weird event virtually happens every night. |
Restoresp:yea, I totally concur with your opinion but least we forget, there has never been a case of bad leadership without bad followers! my opinion though! |
Kingpele:A word, my people will always say "I'd enough for the wise". I totally agree with you Bro |
[quote author=SperoQuest post=87851184]Good afternoon dear Nairalanders, I want you all My bibles tells me that he that is in me is always greater than that of the world. Even as we continue to maintain safety guidelines & regulations (Which is by right suppose to be the norm, because, cleanliness, they always say, is next godliness! Humanity must understand that maintaining safety guidelines without Jesus is vanity!!! If Covid19 doesn't destroy the mere physical flesh? Trust me, something else will do! As spirit beings we have nothing to be afraid of, knowing fully well we have a better home somewhere (Heaven). While we all still have time to make a decision, accept Jesus as your personal lord and Savior before it becomes too late. Note: Don't allow fear to kill before your time. And on this note, I rest my case. #Staysafe #Stayclean #Keepfaith |
My little advice to we all is to keep fit, maintain safety guidelines and continue to solicit for divine intervention. The ways of God is always different from that of mankind! Hit the like button if you strongly believe that you are going to be part of the post Covid19 celebrations. #staysafe #socialdistancing #endCovid19 |
kolafolabi:The temporary relief is somehow commendable and is hereby welcome. However, government must roll-out reasonable and immediate measures that will address the need of the poor/vulnerable masses - who barely find it difficult to eat on a very normal day, not to even come to think of the current nightmare (Covid19). #staysafe |
uptimum123:Hmm, in as much as we are all hoping for scientists to come-up with something laudable at this point, I strongly feel, everyone should continue to intimate his/her God for a possible timely divine intervention. - Maintain safety guidelines - Stay strong & focus - Stay safe! |
