Politics › Southeast Is The Most Dependent On Other Geopolitical Zones In Nigeria - Omokri by iamfraud(op): 11:06am On Jul 13, 2023 |
One of the worst atrocities any leader can commit is using their own people as human shields during a real or imaginary conflict. And that is what is happening in the Southeast. Sadly, many Southeast elites, who are very vocal when a leaf drops in other zones, tolerate a situation in their region whereby someone sitting somewhere in Europe and possibly drinking champagne is destroying their geopolitical zone and thinking he is destroying Nigeria.
If this were happening in the Southwest, IPOBy Ezekwesili would have been shouting Okokobioko and dancing naked in the streets. Am I lying?
Of all geopolitical zones in Nigeria, the Southeast is the most dependent on other geopolitical zones. There are more people of Southeast origin living in other zones than there are people of other zones residing in the Southeast. Most locally grown food consumed in that region comes from other zones. In terms of internally generated revenue, they have the second lowest, after the war-ravaged Northeast. They are completely landlocked and depend on either the South-South or Southwest zones for access to the sea.
And this is the same region that, rather than build bridges, is destroying those bridges that their ancestors, like the late great Nnamdi Azikiwe, Nwafor Orizu, and Alex Ekwueme, built and have allowed a non-intellectual push them to 'punish' the Federal Government by destroying their internal economy. How infernal.
Are you sure that by the time they finish 'punishing' Nigeria, even the Northeast may not have overtaken them economically?
And as the Southeast is being destroyed, Peter Obi is busy congratulating anybody who wins anything, no matter how mundane. If your child is about to graduate from nursery school, contact Peter Obi. He will ignore the crisis in his region and focus on congratulating your child.
Peter Obi only tweeted this morning (Thursday, July 13, 2023) after he was heavily criticised over his silence. And even his tweet focused on the recent insecurity in the North-central, rather than in his home zone.

Politics › Sit-at-home In Southeast Has No Economic Impact On Nigeria - Reno Omokri by iamfraud(op): 10:09am On Jul 13, 2023 |
The attached image is the major reason why the sit-at-home currently going on in the Southeast geopolitical zone is not impacting the national economy and is only destroying their regional economy. Because of the top ten states with registered tax paying businesses in Nigeria, not a single one is in the Southeast. And of the top ten states that generate the highest internally generated revenue in the nation, none are from the Southeast.
The current sit-at-home is a war the Southeast is having against itself, and the most significant economic effect it has on the rest of Nigeria is positive, in that foreign and local investors are divesting from the Southeast and relocating to other stable geopolitical zones.
Please, this is not Igbo hatred. It is just the bitter truth based on facts that don't lie!

Politics › IPOB Faction Orders Two-week Sit-at-home After Southeast Leaders’ Abuja Meeting by iamfraud(op): 11:42am On Jul 11, 2023 |
Factional leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Simon Ekpa, has announced that there will be a two-week sit-at-home in the South East
Ekpa tweeted in the early hours of Tuesday to issue a fresh threat of another lockdown.
“Following the demand by the Biafra people for more sit at home civil disobedience, the Biafra Republic Government In-Exile (BRGIE) and Biafra De Facto Government In Homeland wish to notify Biafrans that there will be a sit-at-home civil disobedience starting from 31 July, 2023 to 14 August, 2023,” Ekpa said.
He said that the sit-at-home is to demand “the immediate and unconditional release of IPOB leader Mazi Nnamdi Kanu who remains illegally detained at the DSS dungeon.”
Ekpa stated that it is also in preparation for “Biafra’s self-referendum and to further put the world on notice that Biafrans are taking their future into their own hands.”
According to him, it will be observed “to invalidate the illegitimacy of those who parade themselves as Nigeria’s representatives within Biafran territory.
“The sit at home will therefore take place in the following order: Monday, 31 July, 2023 to Friday, 4 August 2023 and there will be total lockdown in Biafraland.”
He said that on Saturday, 6th August, and Sunday, 7th August, the two-week long sit-at-home will go on break as all Biafran markets will be opened.
“From Monday, 7th August to Friday, 11 August, there will be total lockdown in Biafraland while on Saturday, 12 August and Sunday, 13 August 2023 there will be a break as all Biafran markets will open,” Ekpa said.
“On Monday, 14 August, there will be lockdown in Biafraland. We hereby call on all market leaders to strictly adhere to this order and treat it with utmost seriousness.
“We also call on all oil companies operating in the Biafran territory to shutdown oil exploration on these dates to avoid the anger of the Biafran people, which may come with heavy consequences.”
The sit-at-home order came hours after a closed-door meeting of South East political leaders where they sought an audience with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on resolving the security situation in the region.
Governors, National and state assembly members and other notable leaders of the region were part of the meeting in Abuja.
Speaking with journalists, the President General of Ohaneze Ndigbo, Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu said all the leaders across political party lines have decided to work together for the good of the region. “As the Chairman of the South East Governors’ Forum (SEGF), I communicated measures being considered by the Governors in tackling the insecurity, one of which is the planned high-powered delegation to the President,” Uzodinma tweeted.
“While we acknowledge the efforts of the Federal Government in the past, we are optimistic that under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, we will receive adequate interventions necessary to nip the menace in the bud.” https://guardian.ng/news/ipob-faction-orders-two-week-sit-at-home-after-southeast-leaders-abuja-meeting/ |
