1. Anybody that didn't declare by December 2021 is unserious and has nothing in truth to offer. Peter Obi took down IGR from N7.6bn Ngige handed over to him to N4.6bn in a year (2006); Promised to build Umueri Int Cargo Airport but never did; Did nothing about Awkuzu. Pius Anyim on the other hand was known never to have allocated more than N35bn as NASS Budget as Senate President. Peter Obi's tenure didn't bring real advancement to Anambra State. Many relocated to Asaba. He brought many Brewery firms though.

2. Pius' campaign has so far shown all seriousness.
Pius was early up in the news, meeting stakeholders and groups since last quarter last year. Someone preparing for the job clearly is either qualified or is full of right intentions. Experience will give you a hint on this.

3. Pius is a half bread better than none, an angel you know, better than the devil you don't know.
Pius has been in the corridors of power and his works and abilities have been seen. The same cannot be said of other candidates. Pius'worse case scenario can be imagined, but we do not know what could come out of the rest. Igbos need refreshing and repositioning and Pius, a man that might even do only a term is a good start to restoring Igbo/SE status, class and respect in Nigeria.


4. Pius Anyim was the first to declare, most abreast with the people's need for URGENT relief.
Considering what Buhari administration has turned Nigeria into, the first to declare was clearly the most serious and most abreast with the people's need for urgent relief.

The President has a lot to do with appointments.

I JUST read a report from the committee set up by Anambra State government consisting of about 7 seasoned academics, including 4 professors.

Findings now show incontrovertibly that MMESOMA forged said result and that she allegedly admitted same.

The committee recommended that she apologise to relevant stakeholders, go for counselling.

However, I feel she ought to be prosecuted by the police to serve as deterrence to others.

Reason is because her case went viral to the extent of being awarded a scholarship.



None of us is a saint, but her own case was controversial.

I believe the fact that she looks innocent, is a poor female must have influenced the committee's recommendations.

It's sad. I wonder what would have been her motive because a score of 249 is a good score any day.

Now she has gained public attention in a negative way, gained a debilitating label that will last till eternity, tarnished the image of the school, her family and the state.

The trauma can only be imagined.


Innoson group goofed as well. They should be ashamed of themselves for that dereliction of duty of due diligence before awarding her scholarship.



Nigerians are scarred by our institutions hence the level of distrust for them. We were all against JAMB and justifiably so.

I am glad the authentic highest scorer is from Anambra too. Otherwise it would have ignited more ethnic rancour.

The Enugu State Police Command has crushed a gang of gunmen, who attempted to enforce an illegal sit-at-home in Enugu in the early hours of Friday.

This was disclosed by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the Command, DSP Daniel Ndukwe, in a statement he issued in Enugu Friday evening.

The Police had earlier on Friday reported that operatives of the command intercepted the criminals at One-Day, Awkunanaw, Enugu, as they tried to snatch an Enugu State Transport Company, ENTRACO-branded Sharon mini van from its driver at gunpoint for their operation.

They however engaged the operatives in a gun duel, but escaped with varying degrees of fatal gunshot wounds, due to the superior firepower of the Operatives, leaving behind one AK-47 rifle with a magazine loaded with 19 live ammunition of 7.62 calibres, two bottles of petrol bomb and other incriminating exhibits.

However, in an updated statement this evening, DSP Ndukwe disclosed that a further manhunt by a combined team of tactical Police Operatives of the Command led to the recovery of the lifeless bodies of four of the male hoodlums in a forest at Awkunanaw, Enugu, where they escaped into.

Meanwhile, the Enugu State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Ahmed Ammani, has, once again, reassured that the Police and other Security Forces in the State shall not relent in their efforts to maintain maximum security and safety of the law-abiding citizens.

The Police Commissioner urged citizens and residents of Enugu to go about their lawful businesses.

He, however, solicited the continued support of the people.

Pandemonium broke out yesterday at some markets, schools and banks in Onitsha and Nnewi the commercial and industrial towns of Anambra State, as commercial and business activities were disrupted following sporadic gunshots by unknown gunmen enforcing the sit-at-home order.

The development caused traders at the markets in the communities including Onitsha Main Market, Ochanja Central Market, Relief Market and Head Bridge Markets to close abruptly while banks hurriedly shut their doors against customers who visited to carry out some banking transactions.

The development made some schools to call parents who immediately rushed to schools to pick their children, particularly when they saw some Secondary School students going home.

This is even as the Anambra State Police command had urged residents of the state to go about their lawful activities and not to panic over rumours making the rounds, asking the people to remain indoors on Friday.

The State Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, DSP, Tochukwu Ikenga, in a statement on Friday, said the panic was created by some “mischief makers” sharing false security alerts/messages and doctored old videos of security incidents to cause tension and panic in the state.

However the resident and traders dismissed police assurances of securing them, saying that Police, Army, Navy, DSS and NSCDC, were never on the streets on Mondays in the State.

A trader in Onitsha Main Market, who gave his name as Okechukwu Emelummadu, said, “We have Police, Army, Navy with their numerous check points where they extort money and cause traffic snarl. But it is funny that you cannot see the Policemen, Army, and other security operatives on the streets particularly in Onitsha and Nnewi, the two economic strength towns of the state to protect lives and properties.

A statement issued by the PPRO, Anambra State’, reads in part “The Anambra State Police Command, today 7/7/2023, has observed with great dismay, the mischievous act of persons sharing false security alerts/messages, and doctored old videos of security incidents to cause tension/panic in the state. Given the above, the Command shall invoke relevant cyber laws on persons found wanting in this regard.

“Meanwhile, the Command has noted that the confidence reposed on us by Ndi Anambra in the protection of lives and properties shall not be taken for granted. The Police with other security forces have intensified patrols, improved security dominance and surveillance in the state.
