LAGOS was a British to FG initiative

Lagos was not viable but it's one of few cities or state in Nigeria that Adopted a name European traders gave to it.

Lagos has been viable since before the beginning of slave trade long before the British thought of coming to Africa..

Lagos colony was later joined with Southern Nigeria in 1906 or so.

Lagos had been a business district for nearly 200 years before it was joined with Southern Nigeria.

Nonetheless, Lagos is not the capital of Nigeria anymore, Focus on Abuja..

Occupy Nigeria protest was about the price of petrol.

The increment was done in a new year period

Labor union and Trade union joined

It's different from protest that has no head or tails

If protest couldn't have held from last year till when new minimum wage was negotiated, then what exactly is this protest about?

Call it what you want. People has the right to protest. The government has erred and people has to announce their displeasure and in effect demarket this regime. If there is no need to protest, people will not protest.

Please remember that was a protest that was against increase in petroleum prices

The protest was immediate and it was joined by both the Labor union and Trade union.

This protest is useless and pointless because the labour union already negotiated a new minimum wage just last week.

The trade union were also involved in the negotiations.


So what exactly is going to be the theme of this protest? Nothing meaningful.

During Endsars no labor union or Trade union joined the protest. Hence, Government revenue was not tempered with. The protesters had to result to illegal disruptions to get through to the Government. The government end up treating them like political opposition and came hard on them through various illegal means.

Innocent people died

Families lost breadwinners

Government infrastructure was destroyed

Businesses loss millions


However, police continue their corrupt practice with impunity, government officials continue to steal public funds etc..

What was achieved?, nothing!

Protest should happen in places they feel they need it in Nigeria.

I understand the current inflation is bad and that can make people want to do irrational things

We in the Southwest don't see a need for a protest

People will rather not vote Tinubu in the next election if the economy don't turn around by the next election. That's going to be our protest.

People from other ethnic groups need to take their protest to their regions not only just Lagos.
