What the left did in the post-election period is not the same thing as what Trump did, and I don’t think it is comparable.

Trump essentially instigated a populist coup. He invited his followers to the capital with the objective of subverting the democratic process and halting the handover of government extrajudicially.

He had also previously set the tone for the whole situation by being divisive and using social media as a propaganda tool to spread hate and misinformation.

What he did has more similarity to what the Nazis did in the period before Kristallnacht. There is a difference between merely having different political views or holding a different political position AND actively encouraging a mob to interfere with a democratic handover of power.

Now whether Twitter and Facebook should have such censorial power is a different debate. But let’s not minimise Trump’s actions by comparing it to anything the left or indeed the right did after the elections.

When the political establishment of the left were hounding Trump for electoral fraud and twisting his statements for political gains with half-truths and blatant lies the tech giants who were mostly left leaning see no harm in that but when Trump does the same thing or less he's flagged for it and eventually removed

Am happy I was not the only one deeply troubled by the coordinated big tech shutdown of trump and parler,alot of people are happy because they hate trump,but this world is conciously walking towards a cooperate oligarchy,10 CEO's can pretty much decide what should dicussed in 90% of the internet used by billions of people,that is a dictatorship,the difference between America and China/ Russia is that censorship is done by 10 men rather than Putin/xi,which is pretty much the same thing
