Moana (2026)

It should get to a point where enough is enough, and I think we're at that point.

When Moana (2016) came out, I wouldn't say it was groundbreaking, but there was definitely a shift. It quickly caught on and became one of the best animated features from a company famed for the medium but which, in the years prior, looked like it had lost its spark. It became a pop culture icon almost overnight, and the rest is history.

Fast forward to 2024. After a staggering 8 year gap , a sequel was conceived that, sincerely, no one asked for. But apparently it was still enjoying the goodwill of the hugely successful first film. The story was kinda meh, but it still did very decently at the box office. At that point, you would have expected Disney to take the win and pack it in. But no.

A mere two years later, they're back with a live-action remake of the original, and I'm left wondering, what is even the f**king point?

This is the same lead from the previous two, but this time he's at the lowest point of his career, looking for anything that resembles redemption. Sadly, this isn't it.

I already have my issues with live action adaptations of animated films because I think, most of the time, it's difficult to translate all the intent, charm, and expression from animation into live action. As such, I think the two mediums should stay as far away from each other as possible. But that isn't even my main problem here.

My biggest issue is just how needless this is. There isn't a logical reason for it to exist, and the overwhelmingly negative reviews aren't even surprising and a live action remake of thee first animation, inverably means they might make a live action remake of the sequel of the animation and that thought scares me to bit 😩😩.

I hate wishing for a movie to fail because I have people in the film industry, and I know the sheer effort it takes to make even a short film. But part of me hopes that if this fails spectacularly, it'll force Disney to do some serious inward reflection on whether these live-action remakes of their animated classics are worth making.

The joy on my little ones' faces when they first watched Moana (2016) is still fresh in my memory, so I'm not about to taint that feeling by letting them watch this big corp, quick money grab, soulless slop...oh no!

I was expecting much from the part 2 due to the innocent and new concept of the part 1 but it was a disappointment, and when I saw that part 3 is on the works I just hissed.

Based off a true event that happened some years ago in Thailand. Some kids that got trapped deep in a cave and the BTS decisions the local authorities had to make in order to rescue them. Nice watch generally... Another reason why I no fit take up caving as a side hobby 😊

Nice movie, I saw it sometime ago.

There's one I am still looking for, it's about some divers that went to investigate the disappearances of people that swims in a particular lake only for them to discover it's a hole that's lead to an underground cave that's was responsible and they got trapped inside themselves.

Can't remember the name.

Who murdered him? Someone overdosed on propofol you call it murder with a straight face? Negligence and carelessness doesn't equate deliberate murder, joe should have realized he's pushing mj to catastrophe, he just kept pushing anyway, he wouldn't have all these problems if it weren't for joe in the first place so being present in court cases or no, he's merely compensating for his abuse.

What i noticed about his father is different though, yes he was a hardworking, ambitious, doting father, but he's the central figure in Michael's demise, most of the insecurities Micheal has stems from him, first he made him alter his nose/appearance so many times by bullying the way he looks (big nose as he calls him often) this is why Micheal is obsessed with having a pointed nose, he never lets him be a child or have a childhood, hence his obsession with children and playtime this is why he built Neverland ranch and got so close to children leading to his child molestation accusations, he forces Michael to do things and made sure he doesn't make decisions on his own as an adult, which is why he lost his strong will and ability to say no to people, he did the Pepsi commercial that burnt his hair and made him a junkie because he couldn't say no to joseph his father, and without that burn he wouldn't be addicted to pain meds and he'd still be alive, he had no friends growing up so he surrounded himself with animals and toys, and this followed him to adulthood making him an extremely shy and misunderstood person who often craves connection, most of the things that went wrong in his life is because of his controlling and abusive father, the only thing wrong with the movie is the fact that they didn't exploit his love life, i grew up thinking he's attracted to men, this was because of several rumors, I didn't know he had kids and liked girls, alot of people thought so too, the movie should've cleared that, and the story of how he passed.

As for his father I am in-between. He was abusive yes but raising almost 10 kids to be successful as a black father then wasn't easy, we all know Africa parents are tough.

He had a fallout with his father but Joe was there for him all though his court cases and false accusations. The last case where they thought MJ would be convicted Joe was the only bold person in court room and guarded MJ from reporters while leaving the court premises after his victory.

Rumors also has it that MJ requested to involved Joe in his last concert when he felt they were closing on him few days before they succeeded in eliminating him.

I personally feel that if Joe was there they wouldn't have succeed in carrying out MJ murder.

I am cutting his father some slacks.

See wahala. Netflix wasn't even narrating or making a verdict of their own. They brought people who were involved in both sides to discuss and you're complaining.

By the way it was a local case,not a federal case so no it wasn't a FBI case like you're trying to impress and it wasn't a 10 years investigation either. Both are off repeated misinformation from MJ stans.

I was glad how some people who knew the truth in person cancelled Netflix and campaign for people to do so, I was surprised Americans could even take it that seriously.
