You know citrus fruits require plenty of sunlight to convert the glucose in the tree into sucrose for the fruits. And as you know we have just gone through our own 'winter', that is rainy/cloudy season in the tropics. You won't get tasty oranges now.

Not true. We are in the season, the oranges I bought last market from market women not Aboki were very juicy and delicious I will buy more tomorrow.

Most friuts are modified it's either the one you buy from the tree planted around you or buy from market women on market days.


Avoid ripe friuts, buy them black and keep them yourself to ripen that's what we have been doing.

Fufu almost did me dirty in a rural town in Delta some years ago. Palm oil I bought from my village plug directly from from their mill dey foam like detergent and red like blood.

The artist and their likes you mentioned are the songs I play and download. If not for social media I wouldn't even know anything about Nigeria songs aside those from 2010 downwards.

Mehn, I have stopped buying palm oil from the open market

I buy from trusted supermarkets, that receives from companies, producing palm oil or my mother in-law gets for me from the village direct from the local extraction from the palm seeds that they do.

Even the "Okpa" that I used to eat, i have stopped because most road side sellers looks like people that will be using that kind of oil in order to cut costs and corners.

The rate of kidney disease is fast becoming an epidemic, even among children, indicating that children are bein fed with contaminated and adulterated food ingredients, that affects their weak organs.

The oil I brought directly from the village mill when I went there is foamy and overly red and I bought almost 10 litre. The woman is even my church member there yet she lied to me it's the original one and I believed because she has been my plug for years until this one happened.

All local food stuff in the villages are not safe except you are there till they finish processing them.

Nigerians are far too worst than the devil.

That mutiny movie is a very good one, so good I've seen it thrice already maybe am a sucker for anything ships, sea and cabin and this movie ticked all the boxes for me.

One of my major rifts with modern Nollywood flicks is how, for all the razz and dazzle they think they are capable of, the stories are still weak, poorly written to a fault, undermining whatever progress they think they are making. I saw the trailer for this last year, and I was on the edge. On paper, it promised a proper mythology and fantasy tale mixed with technical and visual brilliance. After seeing it now, I would like to say: it failed, almost spectacularly, at both.

Let me get this out of the way: I think a large part of this movie, if not 100% of it, was the work of generative AI, which is bad in itself. I probably think they used some non-paywalled, low-tier one.

The plot was simple but logical to some extent. Two tribes, Blue and Red, are divided by myths and fear. When Blue warrior Akinbode is sent to kill a supposed monster, Moremi, he discovers the real enemy is misinformation and the lies sustaining their hatred, with Moremi becoming the bridge between the two worlds.

However, the film was more interested in visual spectacle to an annoying degree that the story was relegated to the background and the characters treated like an afterthought.

As Nollywood begins to gain the attention of global film distributors, their budgets become higher, and they feel they have to flex those budgets by using sophisticated VFX, animation, etc., while still neglecting the core, which is the story. They think a visually pleasing film means Nollywood has finally arrived on the world stage, forgetting that cinema is art first, before anything, and the core of that art is a proper script. Everything else builds from there.

The cast gave a below-par performance, to say the least. And this isn't entirely their fault because the filmmaker basically said, "Hey, the audience is here for the visuals, so just wing it." 😩

I actually think Uzor Arukwe should take a break, go see his family, or better still, touch grass! He blew up from a YT flick, and since then, filmmakers want to put him in every flick, whether he is a fit or not.

Osas Ighodaro as Moremi was a confusing character, which matched the haphazardness of the film. She could be bursting with joy one minute and muted with restraint the next, for no apparent reason. It looked like her first time on set.

For all the technical brilliance this film thinks it achieved, none of it wowed me. I am a motion designer and sometimes shadow as a film/video editor, and there is something called "over-editing," and it shows here. In an attempt to prove a point with the visuals, they over colour graded and over-saturated everything, and the whole thing looked like a mess.

The filmmaker, Niyi Akinmolayan, is an animator, graphics and visual artist whose early works weren't commercially successful, but they showed good glimpses of how VFX in Nollywood might look down the line. But in this film, he forgot all his training and behaved like a man with a huge hammer where everything around him looked like a nail.

It brings me to my most distasteful part of the entire thing: the overuse of generative AI. It's like Niyi's Claude sub had a few days left to run and he wanted to max it out. 😒😒

The beast teased as the main villain was so badly AI-generated, I just burst out laughing. 😩😂 Like, what are we even doing here?! The straw that broke the camel's back was when they infused actual AI-generated visuals with A-roll live-action shots. I will place both screenshots below, and at first glance, you'd think they were from different motion pictures.

It neatly sums up how this movie tried to chase visual spectacle and set a leading legacy for these kinds of films in the industry, but it never seemed to get out of its own way.

They had the audacity to tease a Part 2.

Naahh.

Funke Akindele has once again baited me with gimmick 😩 and teased one of these supposed Nollywood blockbusters, out like clockwork in December. And Inshallah, I will still be there, like I have been for the past two years, for her past two blockbusters.

But wallahi, I can't state enough how Nollywood stresses me, mannn.

Like, can they actually get a flawless blockbuster so I can brag?? Fgsss.😩😩😩

When I watched it I didn't bother to rate it because Nollywood normally Sabi fall hand. It's definitely because uzo went nude partially that was why he won the the movie won best actor and other awards beating to kill a monkey proving this modern Nollywood as a whole never really ready.

I watched some movies over the weekend and I really enjoyed them.

1.) Dracula Untold 2014

Luke Evans is one of my favorite actors.

You will have the taste of my power.
The strength of hundred men.
The speed of a falling star.
Dominion over the night and all its creatures.
To see and hear through their senses.
Even heal grievous wounds.

THIS FILM SWEET DIE!

Honestly, I love this movie more than the Dracula 2025 (although this one sef sweet die!).

I rate this movie 8.5/10

2.) Confessions of A Dangerous Mind - 2002

I have always loved espionage movies and this film blew my mind especially towards the ending.

The soundtrack playing in the background when he was taken to a CIA TRAINING (Wednesday’s Child by John Barry) is one of the reasons I so much love this Movie.

I rate this movie 8/10.

3.) Mortdecai 2015

I have always loved Ewan Mcgregor and Johnny Depp. When I watched Angels and Demons 2009, I did not like Ewan McGregor but when I downloaded that movie again last year, I was nudged to keep searching for all his movies and I was not disappointed.

I rate this Movie 7/10.


4.) The Ghost Writer 2010

Before I begin, THIS MOVIE SWEET DIE! I repeat THIS MOVIE DOPE DIE!

Look at its IMDB ratings ? 7.2?

Pierce Brosnan and Ewan McGregor and Tom Wilkinson in the same Movie? Three of my Best Actors?

When I learnt that Tom Wilkinson passed away in 2023, I almost shed tears out of love & respect.

Talking about Tom Wilkinson, The Ghost and the Darkness 1996, RocknRolla 2008, Valkyrie 2008, Duplicity 2009, The Green Hornet 2011, The Lone Ranger 2013 and SAS: Red Notice 2021; these are all good movies that will forever make me remember this Genius. May his soul continues to R.I.P.

Now, back to the basics, THIS MOVIE (The Ghost Writer) SWEET DIE!

At the end of this Movie, Ewan McGregor made a mistake that even Kindergarten Pupil should never make.

I rate this Movie 9/10.

I love seeing stuff like this.
