I witnessed something like this two years ago.

My friend suddenly went to jail after NAPTIP got informed that he defiled his daughter. He was in jail for 4 weeks and the only thing that saved him was when one of us called the wife with secret recording and she admitted that she did it to teach him A LESSON because he didn't give her what she asked for. This was a woman living in one of the best areas and running a large shop courtesy of her husband who she lied against. He would still be in jail of not for that recorded call because she even made the daughter lie too but refused to submit the girl for test under the guise of taking the girl for spiritual cleansing in the village.

I equally share your concerns, but please There's not issue of fake BP machine, let's be guided pls. You can have a malfunctioning one, which is easy to detect, fix, or replace. You can don't go to the extreme condeming machines when it's peoples ignorance that's the problem. You can give the best machines to people and they will still get terrible readings as result of ignorance. What are the best way of optimizing the machines should be your question. This is serious matter

It's like you are not in country or you are a distributor. Go to some places in Lagos and Onitsha and see where they produce fake medical equipment you are here saying it's a lie. You should be asking how Nigeria can stop manufacturing fake medical equipment including BP machines.

I believe in regular BP and blood sugar checs. However, i have noticed there is a lot of faulty BP monitors around. Even if you are told you have high readings, do another check. For example, in the picture attached, the man's heartbeat shows 106. Why should a resting heart rate be 106? Except the man had just exercised before checking his BP.

Anyway, people should learn to double check. I once called out a hospital for saying I had high BP. My BP machine at home gives me a steady average reading and the hospital's BP showed my BP was high. On my next visit to that hospital, they had changed their BP machine. Imagine how many people are taking unnecessary BP medication because of fauty readings.

That being said, know your numbers, so that you can detect a faulty reading when given. Do your checks regularly.

80% of BP machines in Nigeria are fake, their readings are never correct. I can categorically tell you that the best thing is to look for an authentic one and buy for personal use. If you are not above 40 years I don't recommend taking any BP drugs except you trust your doctor just work on what you consume.
