At least one person has been killed and 10 others injured after a vehicle ran over pedestrians close to two mosques in a north London neighbourhood, UK police have said. The 48-year-old driver of the van has been detained by bystanders and later arrested by police after the incident in Finsbury Park. The UK’s Counter Terrorism Command is investigating the attack, which occurred just after midnight on Monday. Witnesses said the van veered off the road into worshippers leaving Ramadan prayers on Seven Sisters Road, running over several people before coming to a halt. "Police were called just after 0020hrs [23:20 GMT] ... to reports of a vehicle in collision with pedestrians," they said in a statement, calling the incident "major". Eight of the injured were taken to hospitals and the rest were treated at the scene, police said, adding that the driver of the van had also been taken to hospital. Two of the victims were severely injured, police said. At the time of the attack, several hundred worshippers were on the streets in the area after attending prayers as part of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan. British Prime Minister Theresa May said the incident was being treated by police as a "potential terrorist attack". "I will chair an emergency meeting later this morning ... All my thoughts are with the victims, their families and the emergency services on the scene," she said. The leader of the opposition Labour Party Jeremy Corbyn also tweeted about the crash. |

Muslims are lending terrified Christians hijab veils to help them disguise themselves and escape being killed by Islamic terrorists group, ISIS as they try to escape hostage city. The tale is one of the stories to emerge from the besieged city of Marawi in the Philippines – where there are around 1,500 people trapped by the militants. About 100 people have managed to escape on foot or by risking swimming via a treacherous river. Volunteers shading tears for those killed by ISIS in Marawi, Philippines Those who survived the journey have told medics of the resourcefulness of those who fled. The head of the psychosocial therapy team, Dr. Gioia Ancheta, said: “Some of the stories that stuck were Muslims helping protect Christian workers by letting them borrow a hijab.” Marawi was stormed by militants around three weeks ago – in an operation which left 290 people dead including 26 innocent civilians. According to report by Mirror, those who remain trapped in the city face starvation as they are held as human shields by the terrorists against President Duterte’s military who are trying to oust the jiahdists and rescue the trapped persons. There are reports that some of the ‘hostages’ are so hungry they have “started to eat their blankets” according to one local politician, Zia Alonto Adiong, who is managing the relief effort. The Independent reports he added: “Some residents are eating (cardboard) boxes. They just dip it in water to soften the material and eat it,” he said. Survivors who escaped say they have witnessed appalling scenes of carnage. The Philippines military is continuing its assault but efforts are being hampered by an estimated 200 Islamic State fighters holed up in ‘sniper’ positions. President Duterte has placed the entire region under martial law in his fight-back against Islamic extremism.[url]Muslims are lending terrified Christians hijab veils to help them disguise themselves and escape being killed by Islamic terrorists group, ISIS as they try to escape hostage city. Twitter user Nicky ( @baddiiebee ) went viral today, Thursday, May 18, 2017, over her disturbing tweet. She tweeted a photo of herself and her brother and wrote "Yes I am f**king my brother. NO, its not wrong, sinful or shaming. WE ARE IN LOVE. I'm incestsexual. #loveislove " Yes, this is as crazy as they come. Apparently, incest is not a bad thing according to Nicky. She openly admits to sleeping with her brother and has given the taboo a new name ' incestsexual '. She is most likely the inventor of this word because it does not exist on the Internet yet apart from her tweet. The definition is pretty obvious and pretty disgusting as well. Nicki did not stop there. She went on to tweet more things that might mess up your day. "Blood is thicker than water and our love is unconditional #siblinggoals " She later went on a rant and tried defending her taboo love on Twitter. According to her incestsexual people are the most oppressed people on the planet. Nicky is apparently a huge fan of Cersei and Jamie Lannister in Game of Thrones . The two characters have an incestsexual relationship on the show. Nicky later deleted her disturbing comments. |

Ruslan Sokolovsky was arrested for posting video on YouTube of him playing Pokemon Go inside a Russian Orthodox church. A blogger has been given a suspended jail sentence by a court in Russia after he posted a video of him playing the Pokemon Go video game inside a church last year. Ruslan Sokolovsky was found guilty of inciting religious hatred inside a Russian Orthodox church after he posted the video on YouTube which has attracted more than 1.9 million views. On Thursday, the court also sentenced the 22-year-old to 160 hours of compulsory community service and told him not to appear in public places. Russian prosecutors had earlier called for a three-and-a-half year jail sentence for the blogger in a case that has drawn ire from rights activists. Sokolovsky - dubbed a prisoner of conscience by Amnesty International - was detained and charged under controversial legislation for "inciting hatred" and "insulting the feelings of religious believers" before being put on trial. "There are no grounds to let the defendant go unpunished," Russian news agencies had quoted a prosecutor as saying in court. Pokemon Go, jointly developed by Nintendo Co and Niantic Inc, generated masses of followers around the world as players use their phones to capture animated characters that appear in real locations. Sokolovsky's treatment has drawn comparisons with the jailing of the Pussy Riot performance artists after they staged a punk performance in a Moscow cathedral in 2012. The case has once again highlighted the power of the Russian Orthodox Church under the conservative rule of President Vladimir Putin. |
JONATHAN SPEAKS OUT... I Didn't Hand Over A Collapsed Nation To Buhari - Dr. Goodluck Jonathan- . Former President, Goodluck Jonathan has replied his critics who accused him of handing over a nation at the verge of collapse to his successor, President Muhammadu Buhari. . Jonathan recounted the achievements of his government to include, handing over a country that produced the richest man in Africa. . Jonathan said, “I took over a Nigeria that was the second largest economy in Africa with a GDP of $270.5 billion in 2009, I handed over a Nigeria that had grown to become the largest economy in Africa and the 24th largest economy in the World with a GDP of $574 billion. . “I inherited a Nigeria in which the trains were not working, and handed over a Nigeria in which citizens can safely travel by trains again. I also inherited a country where illiteracy rate particularly in the Northern part was alarming. I handed over a country where every state in the North and indeed all the states had a Federal University. I inherited a country where there was total infrastructural decay in all the unity schools and colleges of education. But I handed over a country with massive infrastructural improvement in almost higher institutions. I inherited a country where agricultural inputs and production were almost zero. But I handed over a country where a bag of rice was sold for N6,500 to N7000. My regime since the establishment of ecological fund office did more irrigation dams in the North and other parts of the country than other subsequent administrations put together. I inherited epileptic fuel supplies resulting to endless queues at the filling stations. I maintained despite enormous challenges of fuel subsidies and handed over a relatively stable fuel regime. . I inherited a Nigeria that was a net importer of cement, and handed over a Nigeria that is a net exporter of cement. . In 2009 the richest Nigerian was the 5th richest man in Africa, but I handed over a Nigeria that produced the richest man in Africa. . The former President further stated " I inherited a country where people were almost losing hope on the credibility of its electoral process but I noticed that democracy will continue to grow in the African continent if leaders value the process of elections more than the product of the process. I handed over electoral process that engendered fairness in its conduct and conclusiveness ". . He said, “Even in the 2015 general elections in my country, Nigeria, there was potential for major crisis if I was not a President duly elected by the will of the people. . “The campaigns leading to the elections almost polarized the country into Christian vs Muslims and North vs South divide. . Most World leaders were worried that our elections will result into major crisis. Some pundits even from here in the United States said that those elections would spell the end of Nigeria and that we would cease to exist as a nation because of the polls. . That is where the leadership question comes into play. . As a leader that was duly elected by the people, I considered the people’s interest first. . How do I manage my people to avoid killings and destruction of properties? . With the interest of the people propelling all the decisions I took, we were able to sail through. . Indeed, we sailed through because I refused to interfere with the independence of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, having appointed a man I had never met in my life to run it. We sailed through because I maintained and still believe that my personal ambition, interest is not worth the blood of any single Nigerian. . My philosophy was simple. For elections to be credible, I as a leader, must value the process more than the product of the process. And the citizens must have confidence in the electoral body. |
Don't always believe what you where taught in Sunday school. Queen Vashti icon of feminism I am not a fan of feminism but going through the book of Esther I realised most of my Sunday school teachers taught on their own accord. To refreash your memory Queen Vashti was the queen of Susa dethroned by her husband King Ahasuerus and replaced by Esther. as I child in Sunday school I was taught that queen Vashti was proud and arrogant, and she was disobedient to her husband and God punished her by dethroning her. Let's take a look at what actually happened Esther 1 vs 1-8 we see that King Ahasuerus in order to display his wealth he ordered a feast (party) with endless flow of wine (shayo) for seven days straight (see gbedu), and on the seventh day after him don high, Esther 1 vs10 On the seventh day, when the heart of the king was merry with wine, he commanded Mehuman, Biztha, Harbona, Bigtha and Abagtha, Zethar and Carkas, the seven eunuchs who served in the presence of King Ahasuerus, vs11 to bring Queen Vashti before the king with her royal crown, in order to show the peoples and the princes her beauty, for she was lovely to look at. King Ahaseurus's command for the appearance of Queen Vashti is interpreted by several midrashic sources as an order to appear unclothed for the attendees of the king's banquet. Vashti my icon of feminism refused as she is not an object for admiration neither is she a property to be owned, she refused to be paraded by her husband and his drunk friends, that's what I call standing up for your right as a woman. My favorite part esther 1vs 9:Queen Vashti also gave a banquet for the women in the royal palace of King Xerxes. That's gender equality. Although Esther was considered a Heroine for saving her people from genocide she's this submissive secretive and desperate house wife, imagine my daughter going for a contest for six month just to get married, God forbid if I have a daughter I will rather she becomes Queen Vashti than Esther. |
