Religion / Pastors Who Collect Offerings Are Thieves!' - Reinhard Bonnke by iamozipatrick(m): 8:36am On Nov 14, 2017
Celebrated German evangelist Reinhard Bonnke, who is known for his great gospel crusades throughout Africa, has called out pastors who collect offerings from their congregants.

Bonnke, the son of a pastor and who has saved many lost lives, gave his life to the Lord at a tender age of nine, and heard the call to the African mission field before he was even a teenager.

He is currently in Nigeria for a crusade.

Nowadays, pastors, especially in Africa, are conning their followers in the name of performing miracles and healing.

Most of them have adapted to a more sophisticated — and super flamboyant — lifestyles and are giving politicians a run for their money.

Well, evangelist Bonnke, who is among the few preachers who don't collect offerings during crusades, had this to say about rogue pastors. "We are here to bless you; we have brought you gifts of salvation and deliverance; we are here to give and not to take anything from you. Anyone who asks you to give offering for this crusade is a thief and should be reported immediately."

Politics / KDSG Condemns Unqualified Teachers Using Pupils For Protests In Kaduna State by iamozipatrick(m): 8:55am On Nov 08, 2017
KDSG condemns unqualified teachers using pupils for protests
The Kaduna State Government has condemned in strong terms the use of primary school pupils for protests by teachers who failed the competency test. The government said it will not tolerate the reckless endangerment of minors by adults who are sending them to the streets.
A government statement stated that it is unfortunate that the children who are victims of bad teachers are now being used as cannon-fodder by the same teachers. The government disclosed that it will take legal measures to punish the wrongdoers, assuring parents outraged by the reckless exploitation of young children by the unqualified teachers that it considers such conduct as unacceptable.
Signed by Samuel Aruwan, spokesperson to Governor Nasir El-Rufai, the government statement described as callous and despicable the act of involving young pupils in illegal, politically-inspired demonstration.
“The Kaduna State Government has received reports of primary school pupils being pushed to the streets by their unqualified teachers for illegal protests. These unlawful acts have included getting young children to block highways.
“Government condemns this wanton disregard for the lives and safety of primary school pupils placed in the care of these unqualified teachers. It is grievous enough that bad teachers have been allowed to imperil the educational future of these children. But for these same teachers to endanger the children by asking them to block and lie on highways illustrates a chilling level of irresponsibility that no law-governed society can accept.
“When parents send their children to school, they place pupils in the care of their teachers during school hours. Parents rightly do not expect teachers to teach their children hooliganism or endanger these minors by involving them in matters they are too young to understand.
“These children are not union members. Our pupils are the victims of bad teachers who are evidently do not mind making these children cannon-fodder for their desperation. Exposing minors to hazards, and endangering their lives and limbs shows that some teachers want to jeopardize the present and future of these children.
“These irresponsible actions by unqualified teachers at the behest of their union affront both morality and the law, including the Penal Code and the Young Persons’ Law. Those involved will bear the consequences.
“Government hereby warns everyone to desist from illegal and irresponsible acts. Sound education is not a matter of sentiment. Parents who send their children to public schools have a right to expect decent tuition for their wards. Being poor should not mean that the prospects of their children should also be truncated. Nobody will be allowed to play politics with the future of our children, their education and their safety.
“Government urges parents to be vigilant, report to the relevant authorities any attempt to use their children to threaten law and order.”
Signed
Samuel Aruwan

Romance / Groom Publicly Disgraces His New Bride, Plays Video Of Her With Another Man by iamozipatrick(m): 7:31am On Oct 07, 2017
The man displayed a footage of his cheating bride before wedding guests

An angry groom in Singapore recently decided to teach his cheating bride a lifetime lesson by playing a footage of her alleged infidelity in front of their wedding guest.

According to The Independent, their loved ones and guest were stunned when they saw the bride ‘behaving intimately’ with another man on the screen.

The video as reported began with the bride and the groom’s relationship so far but suddenly, there was a clip of the bride with another man going into a hotel room and afterwards had intercourse in the room.

According to sources, the groom who is a wealthy businessman hired a private detective to trail his wife-to-be few weeks before their wedding. Perhaps, he had suspected that she was cheating on him.

After the video was played at the wedding, the ’embarrassed’ and ‘humiliated’ bride is said to have run out of the wedding hall.

The story became viral after the secret detective hired by the groom, Miss Zhuo granted an interview with a Singaporean media on the issue.

Zhuo said she expected her client to call off the wedding but she was amazed when she received an invitation to their wedding.

She claimed she spent six weeks monitoring the fiancée before reporting back on her alleged findings to her client.

She said it was only when she saw the tape of the woman appear at the wedding that she understood the groom’s motivation.

The footage was played in front of “many” guests, Ms Zhuo said.

The couple and the alleged lover have not been named.

Sports / Barcelona To Become English Premier League Club by iamozipatrick(m): 9:59am On Sep 30, 2017
Spanish giants, Barcelona could look at joining the Premier League, Ligue 1 or Serie A if Catalan independence is secured.

The region is set for a controversial referendum on Sunday, with Catalunya seeking to be recognized as a nation in its own right.

However, the Spanish government has deemed the process illegal, with ballot boxes being seized and prime minister Mariano declaring that the vote “won’t happen.”

Catalan natives are pressing ahead with their proposal, and that includes a plan of action for sporting clubs should a new country be formed.

Clubs such as Barcelona, Espanyol and Girona would all face an uncertainty after the independence, but the region’s Sports Minister, Gerard Figueras believes that there are plenty of intriguing options to explore.

He told reporters, “In the case of independence, Catalan teams in La Liga – Barcelona, Espanyol and Girona – will have to decide where they want to play in the Spanish league or a neighbouring country like Italy, France or the Premier League.

“Now in Spain there teams from other countries who play in national leagues: clubs from Andorra in football and basketball.

“Monaco play in France, in England Welsh clubs. I don’t think that UEFA has anything against seeing another club play in a different league from their country.”

Education / Kogi State Governor Scrap ASUU From KSU by iamozipatrick(m): 7:25pm On Jul 19, 2017
Governor Alhaji Yahaya Bello has announced the proscription of the Kogi State Chapter of the Academic staff union of Universities with immediate effect.

The governor announced the proscription today after an emergency state Executive committee meeting.

Alhaji Yahaya Bello said the decision became necessary as all efforts to make members of the institution see reasons for the calling off their over six months old strike action has failed.

He said, “Throughout last week, I undertook a tour of the tertiary institutions in Kogi State with a view to having first-hand information about the problems in the schools, but while others have since resumed, ASUU-KSU have refused to call off their strike action.

According to him, “as a government, we have fulfilled over 90 percent of their demand and have even gone a step further to pay all outstanding salaries of both cleared and uncleared staff including those that have committed one crime or the other”.

This he said was in spite of the fact their decision to shut down the institution had resulted in increase in violent crimes on Ayingba and its environs, adding that “as a responsible government who has high regard for education as the pillar of the future of the state, we cannot afford to fold our hands and watch the future of our youths mortgaged”.

The governor also ordered the striking lecturers back to work failure of which they should consider themselves out of job in the institution.

He directed the governing council of the University to ensure the security of lives and property and also ensure that no staff willing to work suffers any form of harassment or intimidation.
