Note: As I've always emphasized, I didn't replace this addiction with fornication (as many people propose as a solution). All through my recovery process till now I've never engaged in sex, as I'm not yet married. Glory to God!

First as always, I thank God for this victory and the grace to remain steadfast in the journey.
I have nothing much to say. I also posted my testimony last year and two years ago, and by God's grace, next year I'll come here again to testify.

The only purpose of this testimony is to encourage many youths fighting the same (and any) addiction that it is possible to be totally free. Many have tried and failed, and have given up. I'm here, three years of not masturbating or watching any pornography, I testify to you that total abstinence is 100% possible. All it takes is will, determination, self-discipline and divine help.
Remember that we are biologically sexual beings living in a sexualized society constantly exposed to sexually provoking media, so I place emphasis on the divine help. Sheer human strength is limited and may fail you any time

It's necessary to mention that I've never had sex all through this journey, so it's been total celibacy. Technically we call it Semen Retention. And by God's grace, I have vowed to continue like this till my marriage!

No No masculinity IS NOT muscles. Masculinity is the total combination of characteristics that embody what being Male is all about (culturally and biologically) i.e being logical, ambitious, driven, calm under pressure, self-sacrificing, etc.

Also consider the fact that BOTH men and women have masculine properties in them but in different degrees. Just as both men and women have feminine properties also in different degrees: men have far more masculinity than women have and women have far more femininity than men have. But both contain both.

Men's masculinity and Women's femininity are always changing in degrees in response to socio-economic factors and romantic situations. For example, western society is using the media, law and politics to weaken men by emasculating them. Are they taking away men's muscles? No. Rather it's the core of what makes men men that is being targeted. Eg men are being pressured to be more emotional and less logical - which is them being feminized even as they continue pumping iron and getting more 6packs and abs.

Romantic situations also affect masculinity and femininity,, eg when a woman dates a weak man who's indecisive, timid, dumb, isn't a real leader, she'll find herself being the one taking the lead, making the decisions and controlling the relationship which is really her being more masculine as a natural reaction to her man's femininity. This will exhaust her in no time and make her resent her man cause she's being forced to dig deep and use tools she only must use in cases of emergency not in constant day to day life.

Same way when a man deals with an overbearing, controlling woman he'll find his masculinity going down and himself getting emasculated as a direct response to his woman's overt masculinity. Maybe you've seen how some men are sometimes strong with one woman only to be weak with the next woman. It's all ever-changing depending.

Socio-economic factors also affect masculinity and femininity:
When a woman has no man in her life and is forced to rely on herself for survival (eg widow), or when a girl has no father and she's forced to navigate life without her daddy, she'll become very masculine to compensate. Meaning she'll become direct, combative, logical, put on a shell and be aggressive. This is a woman becoming more masculine. Now , Does that mean widows and girl orphans develop muscles? Nope. They develop traditionally male characteristics for survival and self-sufficiency.All these characteristics are good on a man cause they make him a good provider and protector. And they're what masculinity is. However on a woman they make her very manly and undesirable as far as romance and relationships go.
That's why independent women - women who are self-sufficient - are hard to date and usually make horrible romantic partners until they date dependent, broke men who (by being dependent and not self-sufficient)are operating in their own feminine, which then jells and fits with the independent women who are themselves in their masculine.
Finally remember, gays do have muscles and yet come across as feminine. So muscles have nothing to do with masculinity. Yet muscles truly enhance masculinity. But a man can be perfectly masculine without muscles. Just as he can be feminine with muscles.

It's very important to note that I also took it the hard mode by deliberately staying off sex, so in these two years, I've not had sex, viewed porn in any form or masturbated. I avoided a relationship and also declined sexual proposals. It's been total celibacy. The technical term is Semen Retention. Of course there were girls available, but I was fully determined in my heart to avoid anything related to sex or indecency. What fueled this mission was the desire for a reunion with God, and the path of self-discipline and self-discovery
