Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo says that the government is working to reduce the price of petroleum products by encouraging and working with private refineries and reducing importation. Osinbajo, who is in the UK to sign the Nigeria-UK solar energy agreement, told Bloomberg in an interview... "We are going to be unbundling the NNPC so that its various components are effective core centres and are able to do their business well. We are going to have private refineries at the site of the old refineries, so they can benefit from the available infrastructure. So, we think that in the medium term, we would be able to get cheaper pump price, pump price of oil would be cheaper because we would be importing far less refined petroleum. A lot of that will be produced locally. “Now, we have well over 30 modular refineries licences, so we think a lot of modular refineries would come. Many of them, their major concern is feed stock, are we going to be guaranteed feed stock? We are working on that. Once we are able to deal with that, we feel we would substantially be able to reduce pump price and get the whole business of importation of refined petroleum and the NNPC just getting directly involved in business; we are going to reduce that. The objective is to make the NNPC play more regulatory function. “They are options that are always there. But we think that there are ways we can raise our own potion of contribution to the Joint Ventures. It will only be a last resort and we have not come anywhere near that.” Osinbajo said

Nairaland GeneralKnowing The Difference Between Your Needs And Your Wants by iamVirus(op): 12:01pm On Oct 19, 2015

In order to manage your household finances and
your budget properly, you must make sure that
the most important things in your life—your
needs—are taken care of before you begin to
start to think about taking care of your wants.
Sometimes, it is hard to tell the difference
between needs and wants because certain things
which were, at one time considered luxuries,
are now today seen as needs.
Let’s define these words:
What are needs? Needs are things that you must
have in order to survive. Your basic needs are
food, clothing, and shelter, but can also include
items which you must have to be able to make a
living, such as reliable transportation to and
from work, personal care expenses and
electricity.
To find out if an item is a need or a want, stop
and think about where that item stands in your
life. If that item were taken away, would you be
able to survive? Would you be able to provide
for yourself or for your family?
Wants; on the other hand, are things that make
life enjoyable but are not necessary for survival.
Sometimes, it is easy to confuse wants with
needs.
For example, you can tell yourself that it is okay
to buy a bigger house than you can comfortably
afford because shelter is a need. However, when
you think about, you will probably see that a
smaller house will fulfill your need for shelter
—and also help you stay out of unnecessary
debt!
The same is true for other items. Will a cheaper
mobile phone allow you to make all the calls
that you need to make? These are questions that
you need to ask yourself and answer honestly
before you spend money on things that you think
are needs but are really just wants.
Now, this does not mean that it is wrong to
spend money on wants?
No, it is not necessarily wrong to spend money
on the things you want but may not need. In fact,
the comfort and convenience of wants can add
to your quality of life. But the reality is that not
everybody’s income can cover all their wants, so
choices have to be made – but those choices
should be made only after all needs have been
taken care of.
Knowing this important difference between
needs and wants helps you to make the right
decisions when a financial emergency arises. It
will help you manage the cash that you and your
family have available at any given time and give
you true financial freedom.

I @360jamng went with a few friends to cool off the day’s
work with a few bottles of beer and fish pepper soup, and I requested for the head. Later on, I opened up the head of the fish and I saw raw blood of the fish, and I quickly called the
attention of the waiter, and to my dismay, I was told to pay up and leave the place in my own interest cos the place belonged to a police officer’s wife. #imagine

Family5 Selfish Things That Can Ruin Your Marriage by iamVirus(op): 12:36pm On Oct 18, 2015
lalasticlala
Young woman covering mouth
with hand, close-up

There is a trend I have noticed among people
who seek help in marriage and couples’
counseling. Both partners usually have the best
of intentions. Both usually want to save the
relationship and make it better. But often people
end up in marriage counseling because they are
engaging in five selfish behaviors which prevent
good communication and understanding for each
other to take place.

1. During a discussion or argument, thinking
more about your reb*ttal and less about what
your partner has to say.
This is the number one issue I see among
couples seeking counseling. Partners will do a
fine job of expressing their frustrations, but
then become defensive when the other partner
begins to talk. They begin forming their defense
while the other person is talking thus missing
important information their partner is trying to
convey. This usually goes back and forth, and I
often see that both partners contribute to this
barrier to communication by also personalizing
(more on this later) and becoming more
defensive as emotions escalate. I suggest to my
clients to practice listening by paying careful
attention to the message their partner is trying
to send and repeating back what they are
hearing, without any sarcasm or rudeness. It is
also sometimes helpful to write down what you
hear your partner saying to keep your attention
more on his message.

2. Not telling your partner about issues, both
individual and in the relationship.
I have yet to meet a human being who can read
another’s mind, and your partner is not an
exception to this rule. It is selfish to assume that
she should know exactly what is wrong and how
you want her to help. It may be stress at work,
worries about finances or behaviors your
partner is engaging in that bother you. The list
can be long, and not talking about it will breed
resentment and irritation with each other. Often
I see couples taking out stresses and irritations
on each other. Talking and listening to each
other can remedy a lot of what is bothering you.

3. Making assumptions: It’s not always about
you!
The flipside to the previous selfish behavior is
making assumptions about your partner’s
behavior and taking it personally. When human
beings experience stress, we tend to react in
ways that are not always helpful or nurturing to
a relationship. I often see that a partner will be
short tempered with her beloved. The beloved
then takes these actions personally and becomes
irritated or angry. Ideally, the partner
experiencing the stress would communicate to
his partner (as was outlined in the number 2
behavior). But since none of us is perfect, it may
be up to the offended party to bring this
behavior to her partner in a way that is gentle
and kind, while communicating how this
behavior made him or her feel. When doing
this, be careful to put assumptions aside. In
other words, don’t assume that your partner
intended to attack you and had malicious
intentions. Instead, remind yourself that he is
still the person you chose and the person you
love.

4. Worrying about your s*xual needs and
ignoring the s*xual needs of your partner.
s*x is an important part of marriage and an
issue that almost always comes up in couples’
counseling. Usually the issues with s*x come
down to partners having different s*x drives,
desires and expectations of what is normal and
healthy in a marriage. It is important for each
partner to talk about these issues. It’s OK to state
what you would like to see as far as s*x goes in
the marriage. Once those things are said, try to
then consider what your partner has said and
consider his needs and how you can
accommodate and respect them. Communication
is extremely important in this area, and it will
need to be an ongoing discussion.

5. Only considering the quirks and mannerisms
about your partner that bother you, and not the
things you are doing that may be bothering your
partner.
I cannot tell you how many couples’ sessions
start with “He does this” or “She does that.”
These statements usually go on to describe some
behavior or personality trait that drives the
other person crazy. Instead of focusing on what
the other person is doing, I encourage both
partners to focus more on their own behaviors,
particularly those that irk the other person. I
don’t ask people to change who they are, but I
do ask that they become more self-aware and
willing to make adjustments to make the
relationship better.
Keep in mind that no relationship is perfect. If
you notice yourself engaging in any of the above
behaviors, you have already done a lot of the
work to correct the behavior, as awareness is
often the most difficult step to making a change.
The key to addressing these behaviors is
continued awareness

CrimeWe Didn’t Blame Navy, Army For FESTAC Town Banks Robbery – Police by iamVirus(op): 12:29pm On Oct 17, 2015

AIG BALA HASSAN
The zonal command headquarters of the Nigeria
Police in Lagos on Friday debunked reports that
it blamed the Nigerian Navy and Nigerian Army
for the successful banks’ robbery that took place
in FESTAC town on Thursday.
CSP Adebowale Lawal, the Zone 2 Police Public
Relations Officer (PPRO), made the clarification
while addressing newsmen on Friday in Lagos.
There were reports the police had reached out
to the Navy and Army to assist in stopping the
robbers from successfully getting away but that
the security agencies refused to render help.
This report was dismissed as untrue by Lawal,
who said that the Assistant Inspector-General
(AIG) in charge of the zone, Mr Bala Hassan, did
not blame either of the two security formations
while granting interviews to journalists.
“There is no basis for the allegations that the
police shifted blame to the Army and the Navy
that they did not respond when they were called.
“In fact, they all gave their assurances that they
are ever ready to work with him to ensure that
Lagos and Ogun states under the zone are
peaceful.
“I wouldn’t know where the journalist got that
information from because while the AIG was
granting the interview, he never at any time
shifted blame to either of the two”, the zonal
police spokesman said.
It would be recalled that daredevil robbers had
on Thursday robbed Access and Diamond banks
on 4th Avenue, FESTAC Town unchallenged for
over 30 minutes, an incident that caused the
death of a mother and child, who were hit by
stray bullet in their home around the robbery
scene.
However, the robbers were said to have
abandoned N27 million of their loot, 240 live AK
47 riffle ammunition as the police closed in on
them.

CrimePolice Kill Suspected Kidnapper, Rescue 2 Kids by iamVirus(op): 11:33am On Oct 17, 2015

The Police Command in Katsina State says it has
killed one suspected kidnapper and rescued two
children in the Dandume Local Government
Area of the state.
The Commissioner of Police in the state, Usman
Abdullahi, made the announcement on Friday
while briefing journalists on the incident.
He said that kidnappers had invaded Mahuta
Village in the Local Government Area on four
motorcycles.
Mr. Abdullahi said that the hoodlums entered
the residence of one Rabiu Maidara on Oct. 10
and demanded huge sum of money from him.
He said that when they could not get the money,
they abducted two of his children at gun point.
Mr. Abdullahi said the family immediately
reported the matter to the police for prompt
action.
He noted that the police pursued the kidnappers
and had an exchange of gun fire with them,
leading to the killing of one of the kidnappers,
while the three others fled.
Mr. Abdullahi said the abducted children were
rescued without sustaining injury.
The commissioner said the police recovered four
motorcycles, one AK 47 rifle, ammunition,
cutlasses, mobile phone, two clothing materials
and N2, 000 cash.
He called on the public to continue to provide
useful information to the police that would assist
the force to make the state crime free.
“Our response to distress call used to be within
five minutes, but we have reduced it to three
minutes,” he said.

The unnamed 32-weeks pregnant woman was
flying from her home country of Taiwan to Los
Angeles with China Airlines when she went into
labour. According to reports, when her water
broke six hours into the 19-hour flight, panicked
staff called for medical assistance on the flight.
Fortunately, a doctor responded and was able to
successfully deliver the baby girl while being
filmed.

Amira Rajput, a passenger on same flight who
filmed the video praised the new mother. “The
woman is tough as nails,” Amira Rajput told
ABC. “People were super quiet and calm so that
this woman could have a stress-free
experience.”
The plane then made an emergency landing at
the Ted Stevens International Airport in
Anchorage, Alaska, where mother and daughter
were taken to hospital.
The plane continued its journey to Los Angeles,
after being refuelled. Both mother and child are
reported to be in a good condition. The
nationality of the baby girl will depend upon the
birth certificate issued by the Anchorage
hospital as she was born in US airspace but on-
board a Republic of China aircraft.

CrimeOkada Man Shot Dead In Asaba | Photo - @360jamng by iamVirus(op): 9:04am On Oct 05, 2015
The lifeless body of an Okadaman was found early this morning in a street of Amb. Leo Okogwu road, behind the
new Asagba of Asaba palace, Dla road. Asaba, Delta
state. Nobody knows for sure what happened to
him but people are insinuating that he was shot in the head by armed men who may have been trying to rob
him and he was
struggling with them. His body is still at the
scene and
people in the area want it removed and the case
investigated. See the pic after the cut *warning -
