Edo state governor, Adams Oshiomole yesterday attacked former governor of Edo state, Lucky Igbinedion and his father, Gabriel Igbinedion, accusing them of looting the state resources and exploiting residents of the state.
Speaking to students of the Ambrose Ali University who paid him a courtesy call at the government house, Oshiomole said the former governor and his father ought to be in jail. He said while in office, Lucky allocated 200, 000 hectares of government land to his father.

The governor said he’s since revoked it and that the decision has caused a friction between himself and the Igbinedions. Adams said if the former governor does not obey the law, he will go to prison or either relocate from the state
“I want to be remembered as the man who took from those who have bastardised, raped and privatised the resources of Edo state, used our money to build their private universities and walk around our streets when they are supposed to be in prison. Edo people will be shocked how they have been raped by the gang masters of original fraudster. I will publish records in black and white. I am going to publish all the assets, government-owned lands that Igbinedion the son has ceded to Igbinedion the father, properties of Edo people. Lucky Igbinedion gave out over 200,000 acres of government land to Gabriel Igbinedion, his own father. They took that land on the ground that they will use it for mechanised farming but Igbinedion took this land and gave to cocoa farmers, some of them from Edo, some from Yorubaland. These cocoa farmers will farm and sweat to grow their cocoa on government land yet Igbinedion will sit in his house on which he is not paying ground rent and be collecting royalties. Is Igbinedion the Oba of Benin? The great Oba of the great Benin Kingdom never subjected his people to that level of exploitation. I revoked the land and returned it to government and they got angry and have been fighting me. Igbinedion believes he is above the law but I told him that he must obey the laws made by government. If he faults the law, he will go to prison. Everybody born of a woman in this state must be subjected to the rule of law. If he does not want to obey those laws, he will have to relocate”he said.

Residents of Ogunfunmi Street, Akobi Crescent Surulere, Lagos on Tuesday, dragged a school teacher, Benedict Ekpenyong, a teacher in Akintan Grammar School on Akintan Street, Surulere, to the police station for allegedly locking up a female pupil in his room and attempting to rape her.
It was learnt that neighbours saw Ekpenyong take the 14-year-old pupil, who was also a pupil of Akintan Grammar School and only as Blessing to his apartment at about 12pm and heard the bolt to the door lock.
Both of them were in the room for a few minutes before a mob surrounded the house and tried to force the teacher’s door open. Upon succefully forcing the door open, the mob observed that Ekpenyong had allegedly tried to have sex with the pupil, so they began to beat him.
The teacher was reportedly beaten by the mob before he and the pupil were dragged to the Alakara Police Division at about 1pm.
An eyewitness said that the neighbours had become angry because Ekpenyong allegedly had a habit of bringing schoolgirls and locking them up in his room during school hours.
He said:
“I do not stay on Ogunfunmi Street but I knew when the mob went to the house. For several minutes, people gathered in front of the teacher’s room and asked him to open the door but he refused. Then, they forced it open.
“When they did, they found evidence that Ekpenyong might have attempted to rape the girl as the pupil was not the first person that would be brought to the teacher’s room. So, they began to beat him up. It was a major scene on the street.”


According to reports by Punch Metro, Ekpenyong was arrested and detained by the police, while the teenager was taken away by the Domestic and Sexual Violence Response Team of the Lagos State Government for medical examination and rehabilitation.
One of the social workers, identified only as Idowu, said:
“The information we have is that the suspect is notorious in the area for bringing little girls to his house and doing suspicious things with them. He locks them up in his room so nobody gets to hear anything.
“On Tuesday, the neighbours were watching him and they sent an alert to the government. By the time we got there, he had stepped out with the girl. The people actually beat him up and dragged both of them to the police station. The girl has been taken and we are making arrangements to move her from the station.”
The Coordinator, DSVRT, Lola Viviour-Adeniyi, said the team would write to the Ministry of Education to investigate the school as it had been reported that cases of sexual abuses were rampant in the school.
She added:
“As we speak, the girl is under protection. We want the police to ensure that the suspect is charged to court as the government is interested in the matter. Also, we will write to the Ministry of Education to investigate the school as we learnt that this was not the first time cases of sexual abuse would come up.”
The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Joe Offor, confirmed the teacher’s arrest and added that the police had visited the scene of the crime and would charge the suspect to court after investigation was concluded.

The Lagos State Police Command on Tuesday confirmed the death of a policeman who was found dead in his Volkswagen car in Ikeja.
Empty cans of pesticide and some medication, suspected to have been taken by the deceased, were reportedly found inside the car.
According to a statement by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Joseph Offor, the policeman was said to be attached to Safer Highways Patrol in Lagos.
“The Lagos State Police Command wishes to confirm the story that a policeman, Cpl. Agi Elias, with force No. 386982, was found dead in his Volkswagen Passat car.
“The car, with Registration No. 489 AY, was parked at the entrance gate of High Barracks, Ikeja, today, Nov. 10, 2015 by 0730hrs.
“The Cpl., Agi Elias, until his sudden death was attached to Safer Highway Patrol, Lagos but on Corporal to Sergaent promotion course at Police Training School (PTS), Ikeja.
“The aforesaid course came to an end Nov. 9, 2015.
“Preliminary investigations carried out so far revealed that tablets and some poisonous substances littered around his corpse, while still inside his car.
“His body has been recovered and deposited at Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH) mortuary.
“The investigation of the case has been taken over by the Homicide section of SCID, Yaba, with a view to ascertaining the cause of his death,’’ the statement said.

22-year-old Nicholas Nwabueze met his water loo recently after kidnapping a 2-year-old boy, Somtochukwu.


Nwabueze had gone to the shop of Ifeoma Olewu, Somtochukwu’s mother, located at Zone 4, World Bank Area, New Owerri, Imo state to buy something on October 27.

When he got to the shop, he saw the little boy playing all alone outside while his mother was busy inside the shop. He quickly kidnapped him and demanded a ransom of N500,000 which was paid the next day.

He however kept the boy in his custody, hoping to release him immediately after cashing the money. He only succeeded in withdrawing N120,000 through the ATM machine. When the ATM machine didn’t dispense any more money, he was forced to go inside the bank to ask why. He was arrested in the process. He later confessed that he wanted to obtain money from the parents since the boy’s father resides in China.

Meanwhile, a four year old boy, Stephen Kanu, was abducted by unknown gunmen in the Abeokuta area of Ogun state around 5pm on Monday, November 2.

Famous Highlife singer, Flavour has revealed that he will be getting married soon.

Flavour who has two children from two different beauty queens said this during an interview with Hip TV.

When asked about marriage, he said “I’m getting married soon” after laughing. Flavour might be singing a different tune about marriage now, but only last month he explained why settling down now will be a bad idea for him.

“Marriage is a serious thing” he said, “it’s a decision that when you make it’s like you are in it or you are not so you don’t need to make the wrong decision. That’s the most important thing” he told My Joy Online.


“If you want to marry, for marrying sake then it doesn’t make sense. You are not defining marriage and because of the kind of job we do, I hardly stay at home so where am I going to have the time to give my family? So it is very difficult” he further stated.
