A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has ordered the Federal Government to release the international passport of the immediate past National Security Adviser, Col. Sambo Dasuki (retd.) to enable him travel abroad for medical treatment.

The Federal Government, yesterday, opposed an application by the former NSA to be allowed to travel abroad to seek medical attention.

Dasuki, who is facing a five-count charge bordering on alleged illegal possession of firearms and money laundering, is seeking the permission of the Federal High Court, Abuja, to go for three weeks medical check-up outside the country.

In the application he moved through his lawyer, Mr. J. B. Daudu (SAN), yesterday, Dasuki urged the trial judge, Justice Ademola Adeniyi, to order the release of the travelling documents he surrendered to the Deputy Chief Registrar of the High Court.

Daudu told the court that his client was suffering from a sickness that would require attention of his medical doctors abroad, pledging that the passport would be returned to the court after the three weeks treatment period.

The former NSA’s legal counsel further argued that Dasuki ought to be presumed innocent despite the criminal charges against him.

Recall that the court had on September 1, granted the embattled former NSA bail on self-recognition after he deposited his international passport.

What has been the secret of your success in Nollywood?

It has been God and my late mum. Also, the passion I have for the job has contributed to my success. I love my job. I see nothing as challenge.

Are there people in Nollywood that you look up to?

I look forward to becoming FAVOUR OMA. I love Favour Oma (Myself) and she is the woman I want to become.

If you were to change anything about yourself, what will that be?

Anger is one of my vices. I am temperamental. That is one thing I would love to change about myself. Also, if I have the power to change anything, I would also love to change my height (laughs)…I want to get taller. I am also targeting changing everything happening in Nollywood. I want to put a stop to people taking advantage of the upcoming ones. I want to change the mindset that if you are an actress, you are a prostitute.

Tell us about your love life?

Yes, I have a lover. Infact, he even came visiting me on the movie set. It is a relationship I cherish so much.

Is the affair altar bound?

That is not what I would love to share. The most important thing is that we are happy being together.

Have you ever been heartbroken?

Yes, I have had a heartbreak.

But what could make a man break the heart of a gorgeous woman like you?

Some men could be unreasonable at times. Some do not know what they want. They leave you and always want to come back. And I am the type that does not go back to past affairs.

Is your present lover an actor?

No. He is not. I can never date an actor. I can’t just do it. It could distract me and I don’t like distractions. If you are dating an actor, you should be ready to handle jealousy. And I think jealousy can make one get distracted. I can have actors as friends, but it can’t go beyond that. I can’t even imagine dating an actor.

Can you cope as a second wife?

That is one thing I can’t do. I’m a very jealous lover… I will kill somebody (laughs). If you marry me and decide to bring in another woman, I will just leave the house for you. It is either you are there for me or you are not there. You can do some shit outside as majority of men do but let the home be mine; let nobody come inside my home to share my husband with me. I can’t tolerate that.

Does the man in your life at the moment also cheat?

I trust him (laughs). Love covers so many things; so I’m not really bothered about him cheating or not.

Do you see anything wrong in a woman developing s*xual feelings for her fellow woman?

Everything is wrong in lesbianism. I can like a woman as a good person, but not to the extent of developing s*xual feelings. God forbid; I don’t give chance for such. My feelings are directed to the opposite s*x, not same s*x.

The Nigeria Police on Saturday vowed to crush members of the Independent Peoples of Biafra planning to organize mass rallies in major cities across the country.


Force Public Relations Officer, Mrs. Olabisi Kolawole, said all state commands had received directives to beef up security within their areas, as part of proactive steps needed to forestall a breakdown of law and order anywhere in the country.

She noted that with the repositioning of the intelligence response unit, the police now monitored all activities, even as critical infrastructure of government, were being protected against all forms of attacks.
“Police everywhere (in the country) have beefed up security; the directive has been there that the police should beef up security all over,” Kolawole said.

“Measures have already been put in place to ensure security, and nobody will be allowed to disturb the peace of the nation.” the FPRO told Sunday Telegraph.

According to a senior health official in Guinea who spoke yesterday Wednesday, October 28, three more people have been infected with the Ebola virus. According to Fode Tass Sylla, spokesman for the national centre for the fight against Ebola, the three were infected in Forecariah in western Guinea from the family of a woman who died of Ebola and whose body was handled without appropriate protection.



 "In all, nine sick people are being treated at our centres throughout the country and most are connected to the dead woman," he told Reuters, adding that authorities had known of the three fresh cases since Saturday.

The World Bank said this in response to a request by civil society group, Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP) asking for a comprehensive document detailing all the loots of the former military dictator which is estimated at $11.3 billion and stashed in foreign banks.

“In response to your request, we would like to inform you that we are still considering your request and we will need additional time because the money involved is too huge for us to handle.” World bank says The World Bank added that although it takes just 20 working days to respond to such requests, under special cases, it could take longer time.

Former Abia State Governor, Orji Uzor Kalu has
announced his exit from the FIFA presidency
race, leaving Segun Odegbami as the top African
contender gunning for the post.

He appreciated all, especially the former FIFA
president Sepp Blatter, who wanted him to
contest for the post though he made no formal
bid. He explained that he could not accept to
contest as he wanted to focus on his business
and humanitarian activities in Nigeria.

Kalu made the announcement in a statement
signed by his Special Adviser, Kunle Oyewumi,
which reads: "I feel humbled and honoured with
the widespread call for me to vie for the position
of FIFA president.

"I sincerely appreciate the show of love and
support demonstrated by African countries for
their endorsements despite my decision not to
submit a bid.

"I particularly remain grateful to FIFA President,
Sepp Blatter and his team, for personally
acknowledging my capability to take the world
football body to enviable heights.

"However, considering the economic challenges
facing Nigeria, I have decided to focus my
attention and resources on my business and
humanitarian activities. I strongly believe the FIFA
presidency is all about service, but I would rather
continue my contributions to the economy of the
continent by creating employment opportunities
and wealth for Africans.

"I remain committed and passionate to the
advancement of sports especially in Africa."
