What do you think CBN will say - everybody go withdraw your money from IB Plc? The 2,500 so called maintenance deducted from my account is not rumour. it is thievery and could only be that ur profits was low considering the fact that u did this FEW DAYS TO END OF UR FIN YEAR.

I still believe Intercontinental bank has changed for the worse. i can not say that 2morrow my account will not be deducted and called account running fees. They have simply abandoned integrity and reason. If you have their 2009 desktop calendar, they advertised IPSA account as

I operate an IPSA account and i can tell you that Internet banking is not free, Only your first ATM card is free and they deduct charges on salary paid into these account. All these contrary to what they have on the 2009 Desktop calendar.

Deliberate false info to lure unsuspecting customers to open an account. Then the charges just start rolling. I have been their customer for the past nine years but they have changed. Sad thing was i encouraged my mother to leave UBA for IB Plc because of UBA's strange deductions but voila! IB Plc have joined the band wagon.

May God deliver us from Nigerian banks and their ever defending supervisor, soludo.

And i feel their recent actions must mean SOMETHING IS WRONG with them.

When last did you check your statements for those who use Intercontinental. They deducted 2,500 from corporate current accounts just 2 days to the end of their financial year. They deducted 200 naira from IPSA savings. Now tell me if that is not a sign of a bank that is desperate. i have written to the bank to complain. They have not even bothered to reply.

Intercontinental Bank Plc deducts money anyhow without notice. They now inform you later. the 2500 was called maintenance charges. When someone takes my property without my permission, that person or corporation is a thief. So much for Mr. Integrity. I'm moving ASAP

For those adding Intercontinental Bank Plc to the lists of good banks, i think you should remove them from the list. Last week they deducted 2,500 naira from my current accounts and 200 naira from my IPSA account with them. After much complaint, i was told these were account maintainance charges. I dont understand when current accounts that have COT deducted must now have account maintainance charge as if they are phcn meters.

i guess the deductions were made to boost their income as their financial year ended feb 28. I believe they should have given a notice, and then allow us to move our accounts if we are not ok. rather than an unauthorized debit.

If you use IB Plc go check your account ooo. As far as i'm concerned, the bank is a thief (what do you call someone who takes your money by force?). They did the same thing a while back with atm charges.

Does this debit signify that IB is cash strapped?

I went to my bank, Intercontinental Bank Plc, last week thursday to check my balance and discovered that the bank has deducted 2,500 with a strange coded narration. After several complaints i am now being informed today that it is maintenance charge. This was deducted from my two current accounts and it is bank wide. 200 naira was also deducted from my savings account (IPSA).

I believe the bank was trying to boost it's income considering the fact that 28th february was it's financial year end. This is nothing but a fraud. Why were customers not informed that a new charges is to start and given notices. Why was maintenance charges not put in the narration? What stops the bank from deducting 5,000 naira every month and not call it "teller printing charges"?

IB Plc is very good at just introducing spurious charges without notices. We were told atm was free, and suddenly we started seeing charges.

Their 2009 desktop calendar says when you have IPSA, Internet banking is free, debit card is free, salary payment is without charges. yet i am debited for all these.

It is especially sad, considering the fact that this is a bank that prides itself on integrity. If i am buying a service or product and the price changes, it is ethical to notify a customer who can then decide to still buy or take his business elsewhere, but in this case, because IB Plc has access to my money, i am at their mercy till i close my accounts.

I enjoin every customer to officially write a letter of complaint. I intend to write mine tomorrow. The bank should not get away with this fraud.

When did current accounts become PHCN meter that must have maintenance charges? What are they maintaining after taking COT?

Did you scan your system for virus before this occurred? Some viruses after they are removed leaves the system in a state of constant rebooting.
