Any day you throw in your £1k, it is accruing interest. If you only keep it there for one day on a 5% interest rate, it will theoretically accrue 5% divided by 365

So if you keep throwing in your $1k daily, it will be accruing interest also

The person with the lump sum who invested it immediately with just a 5% yearly return would be earning 250k yearly on top of his original 5mil. Now add up 250k yearly for the same 30years plus his 5mill and tell me what he has.
