Thank you so much Adetoku3: |
Hello my people, I'm planning to apply for a study visa for my Erasmus Mundus Joint Master's program. However, I'm unsure about the birth certificate requirement. The TLS website only mentions needing a birth certificate, but it doesn't clarify if legalization is necessary. Based on your experiences, has anyone successfully applied for a visa without legalizing their birth certificate? I plan to get my birth certificate authenticated and translated, but obtaining a legalization appointment is taking a long time. Since the requirement isn't explicitly stated, I'm wondering if it's worth submitting the application without legalization for now. |

I heard the MCF at the University of Cape Town just sent emails confirming award of scholarship. Was anyone successful? |
Thanks boss Adewole17: |
Thanks man, it took me 22 working days. I applied on the 26th of January in Portharcourt. Juwohn: |
Thanks, I pray you get yours this week. Silvabae: |
I got my study visa today, thanks to everyone who helped me in one way or the other on this thread (directly and indirectly). I read it from the very first page and it honestly made my visa application process less stressful than it would have. Once again I thank you all and wish you success in your own applications. |
Silvabae:Yeah it worked later. I submitted on the 26th of January at the Port harcourt office, they forwarded it same day to Lagos (or so they claim). I call them often but it's the same old rehearsed song they sing, even via email. I dey fear small since I gats dey school next week Thursday latest. |
friendly101:Thanks Oga, I just used yours but it's the same, maybe they have technical issues. |
Did anyone else experience this while trying to track their application?
|
Bruh, has anyone who applied on the 26th of January received their visa (study permit)? ![]() |
Mohayaks:I don't think they do but it's always good to have it with you. You should contact UCT just to be sure. I have a similar document but it's the HESA type for undergraduates. |
Adewole17:It was at vfs (Portharcourt to be specific) |
Still waiting for my study visa to UCT. I called today and was told they are handling applications submitted on the 26th of January (I also submitted that day), hopefully I'll get my visa this week as orientation starts next week. Fingers crossed. |
Congratulations, I also applied on the 26th of January (study visa). I've been calling them this morning but they either don't pick or when they do they transfer me to someone that never answers. umoskisamuel: |
Ariel20:Hi Ariel, congratulations first of all. I called the vsf office yesterday but they must have closed for the day. Please can you help me out with this issue. Normally Nigerian immigration laws dictates that you can only renew passports 6 months to expiry and mine still has 11 months on it and I need to apply for a study visa of three years to study at UCT. Why I am saying this is because the VSF office (people contracted by the South African Embassy to handle visa applications in Nigeria) at Port Harcourt claims I have to renew my passport (which is impossible) and that my passport has to outlive my visa duration by at least 30 days. Which means I have to have a passport that at least expires in 3 years and 30 days after my studies. Why I am skeptical about their claims is that they didn't sound convincing or very knowledgeable. I would like to know if you have any contacts at the Nigerian embassy to confirm it or someone at the South African immigration service because I have searched for ways to contact the embassy directly regarding this issue but the numbers provided are either invalid or do not go through. Please can you help me confirm what the correct procedure is as it is currently stalling my submission. Thanks |

mariahl:Hey mariahl, have you received any documents yet for the visa application? I think they are taking longer than necessary and school resumes February. My phone is faulty so if possible please send me an email via I'll be waiting. |
Sorry for the late reply, my phone was stolen so I only browse at the cafe at specific times, you can drop me an email at isamite: |
Not really bro, you need at least an A level result but if your waec is excellent it is worth a shot rjek: |
mariahl:Congrats man, I received mine yesterday too. Undergraduate and I am Nigerian. |
SlimHan:Thank you |
DAramis:Thanks man, undergraduate. It is the University of CapeTown |
Hey guys I just got the email confirmation for UCT. I got the scholarship. I am so happy and grateful to God and I pray that the same would be for everyone this year. |
UCT guys! it's been a while, is there any update? |
GabbyKelly:Two and half months and it was quite complicated and not straightforward. In terms of administration they are slow and unorganized. Their way of doing things is so typical of an African system. Yours might be different, just my experience. |
blisylvester:I've sent you an email. |
blisylvester:Guy send me your number. I rarely go on Facebook. Let's whatsapp. I just got admitted to UCT I want to apply for the scholarship now. |
