You also did not include the cost of harvesting. When you buy back the seeds do you have a kind plant to convert it to biodiesel? |

all4naija: Why would you think Saudi Arabia represents all Muslims. Gosh! Saudi is Strict even for most Muslims so you can't describe all Muslims with their strictest representations. They are just about 30 million in that country which is about 2% of the entire Muslim Population. If you must generalize, a more sensible representation would be Indonesia&Turkey which make up for about 20% of the entire Muslim population. where women are not treated badly for not wearing Hijab. And I doubt this your Saudi story is valid seeing as I have been to other gulf countries were people dress freely free of harrassment. I really give up on you! That last paragraph should embarass you. When you realize it, if ever, you will wonder what you smoked to have penned such nonsense! And if you still can't resist the urge to talk about Islam and Muslims, do some reading. At the end you might still hate the religion but your criticisms of it will be more intelligent. Bye!!! 2 Likes |

all4naija: The use of Hijab is by choice. I even know a few ladies who use at great personal cost despite antagonism from family and friends. Google Tawakkul Karman and hear what she has to say. She has a Nobel Its a lie!!! Muslim countries do not treat women without Hijabs with disrespect, if you have been to Turkey, Indonesia, or Dubai you will know this Of course the Muslims didn't directly build the developed world but they helped spark the renaissance which would have been delayed by two more centuries without their effort. Hopefully the import of that will not be lost on you. 2 Likes |

all4naija: Well it is unfortunate that happened, and if that was the reason cited for banning the Hijab, we would understand. But clearly that was no where near the list of the concerns so, sorry about that. There is really nothing archaic about Muslim Abayas or clothing, if you are in doubt ask the Oil Sheikhs of Middle East. Actually your much vaunted developed countries would not have been where they are today if not for the early Muslims of Andalus. Ever heard of that? Educate yourself, buddy and stop listening to media trash. 2 Likes |

This is not just about religion, it is about fairness and justice for all. You might perceive a person's choice to be foolish but he's entitled to it and it is plain injustice to use your power/authority to deprive him of that right. 1 Like |

You see, the roots of all discriminations are IGNORANCE & FEAR! voltron: 1. There would never be need for prayer breaks as no Prayer falls between regular school hours 8am - 2pm voltron: 2. Even in Islamic Schools Male teachers teach both male and female students and vice versa. voltron: 3. Muslims who go to school expect to learn about the world not religion. A school is never the best place learn about Islam, anyway. 4. And contrary to what you might believe, interacting with Non-muslims is not a problem for Muslims. voltron: 5. If all Muslims went to such Muslim-Only schools and Christians to christian-only schools we would have a divided society which would be constantly at war with itself. The only way forward is to strive for understanding which leads to mutual respect and tolerance. 3 Likes |

echelons: A uniform is not such a sacred element of education that it can't be changed to accommodate people who, due to religious obligation, need to dress a little differently. With appropriate regulation, girls can wear Hijab without breaking the "uniformity" of school uniforms. A Court decision that says shuts out a particular group of people from schools because of a harmless form of dressing is INTOLERANT not SENSIBLE. 2 Likes |

willibounce1: Yes we all pay tax and everyone should be allowed free access to public spaces irrespective belief. You keep mentioning Uniforms as if they are scared objects sent from heaven and not made by human beings. The point is MAKE UNIFORMS THAT ACCOMODATE HIJAB FOR THOSE WHO WANT IT! willibounce1: Of course you and I know that neither Ifa priests nor their sons wear these things to places other than their shrines/events. So this is no point really. 3 Likes |

Why the Hijab ban is flawed 1. Muslims pay tax and have the right to attend public institutions. The Public institutions should therefore not be set up in such a way to preclude Muslims from attending. People made the rules, and people can change them. 2. Christians really have no obligation to wear white garments beyond the church and neither do the traditional worshipers have any religious clothes. So allowing Hijabs will NOT translate to chaos. I know many christian boys who wear rosaries all the time and no one has ever challenged that. 3. We should also stop the lie that there is no religion in public schools. The fact that students pray on assembly everyday and that religious studies are still taught negates this. 4. Nigeria is secular on paper only. Its the reason why religious leaders still have so much influence in our politics a la Oristejafor and Northern Emirs;the reason why we pray in every government function and even sponsor people on religious pilgrimages with taxpayers money. Countries that are truly secular don't do these. 5. By banning Hijab in public schools its easy to see how the ban may soon include all public places in the name of secularism; government offices including the House of Reps and Senate are also public spaces which should be devoid of all religious symbols. 6. Must it to get to that before we see how a Hijab ban erodes the fundamental human rights of Muslims? 7. By criminalizing Hijab in schools, what lesson are we passing across to young ones about tolerance and mutual respect? 8. Yet Hijab harms no one. Those who oppose it do so only because they don't like it. 17 Likes 5 Shares |
