Maybe I did not do my studies well but I guess Ihiala and Okija are in Anambra State and they happen to have the culture. It is probably more prevalent in the Imo/Abia axis.

You are quite true. I think its more prevalent in IMO state. I have a friend, the second female in her family who is constantly hailed *ulunne* by family and relatives. She is from Ezinihitte in Mbaise.

You know the economic situation is really *Eley gidi Gan* when the DG of NYSC makes a public statement saying NYSC doesn't have funds to mobilize the next batch of Corp members. Already the last orientation time frame was prinned down to just 2weeks of camp as against the usual 3 to 4 weeks due to lack of funds.

I personally think NYSC has outlived its objectives. A major of which is to help individuals integrate with different cultures and people. Most of the corp members posted to the interiors end up running away. I mean as of last Friday we received 23 new corp members here in langthang south, Plateau State. Almost all of them were wailing and asking God how they offended him as to have been posted to such place. One particular girl kept repeating to her parents on phone that she was seeing nothing here except the Pigs and goats roaming about and of course a dry expanse of land despite the loving faces of corp members already on ground( yours truly included) consoling her and trying to make her feel welcome. After that I went inside to take a good look at my face because I was sure I had no tail dangling neither was I standing on four legs.

By the next day 17 of them had disappeared back to the capital without documentation in hope for a better and more beautiful place of assignment.

ifesinachi i wonder what kind of high or low, u woke up on this morning but i wil let it slide. If everybody goes by flight,what will happen to roads? Before airplanes, what did your people travel with or were they already flying before the discovery of an aircraft? What makes it a life threatning journey? Will i be the first to go by road to jos or will jos be the first time i will travel by road? Guess you've never travelled by road yourself?
Get your thoughts right,pple die every now and then from plane crashes. Your life can be threathned almost at anywhere so flying high in the skies isnt a guarantee and for your information some people like the geographical knowledge and landscape view gotten from travelling by road. Flying by plane doesnt make you smarter,its a thing of choice.
Please mind how u use your words and learn to be optimistic. How i choose to travel shouldnt be of concern to you.

I am a potential corp member too tho am not slated for may and this is an open forum,there is no restriction or membership card been issued out. That said no victor,no vanquished. Ok @ dami,I hav bin following your replies and that of rhema and I must say that you sound quite disgruntled and confused. First this is a forum,as much as we are here to help each other,we are also here to exchange ideas,opinions and knowledge of subject matter. To me,ur d one who sounds so much like an "I TOO KNOW" rhema made her point in a light hearted manner using some scientific terms of which I can quite relate to even though am not science inclined. If u had any problem with her, as uv bin watching her since yesterday.I guess reason been that ur jobless. u shud have made ur corrections in a more civil manner not as a tout uv shown ursef to b. U strike me as an overtly and self concieted individual who tinks his far above odas whearas ur quite the opposite,for how can u xplain u kip stating those laws as her own. Mr man,those laws have bin postulated by scientists bfor her and another point of correction,science can not collapse nor sag,it can only advance with discovery and modification of existing postulations. Every discipline of life can be used as a theory for explaning certain behavioral tendencies. Get ur facts right and stop been unneccessarily inteligent,there is no cummulative GP bin added here. We are all here to network and learn.
