I want to say this, these igbos traders yorubas often neglect are very successful set of people, most of them a richer then Bank CEO, have you been to computer village, have you heard of Slot, have you been to trade fair, do you know these Alaba boys are heavy importers dealing directly with Chinese companies, some are having a customized brand of electronics...I have had the privilege to tour igbos states and of course Yoruba states, and I can confidently say that igbos are richer than Yoruba, it is only a blind man that will say otherwise...Yes yorubas are very rich, you guys normally call otudela and honeywell man, ask yourself how many are these people in Yoruba land and let me tell you, do you know that sME is what drives our economy just like in Thailand and do you know igbos control 80 percent of this? igbos dominate in real estate in Abuja and in Landed properties as confirmed by El rufia himself....Please give credit to the igbos, because these people were dispossessed of thier properties and monies after the war, normally they should not be compared with any section of Nigeria, but here we are comparing them with those that benefited most in the Indeginization policy...igbo wealth is well spread and that is true meaning of wealth, and not a few people will be multi millionaire while the rest will be living in Poverty..this is my contribution as a neutral person and I hope this settles the argument..

Please can I buy a clean car in Lagos? I am confused between buying from Lagos or from Cotonou, some people say that Lagos is full of accidental cars and they reduce the high mileage just to make gains a lot of Negative stories and also Cotonou, there are a lot of Negative stories as regards how the agent dupe people, I don't know what to do...My family friend in US is not helping matters, He wants to buy me a high Mileage cars are a higher rate than they sell it in Nigeria, he tells me it is still better than what I will get in Nigeria...How can a car with Mileage of over 200,000Km still be good...Please I need an advice, I don't know what to do

North Moves To Hijack Buhari

It emerged at the weekend that a powerful Northern caucus within the All Progressives Congress (APC) has kickstarted moves to take control of the structure of government in the incoming administration of the president-elect, General Muhammadu Buhari.
Sources within the party confirmed to Sunday Tribune that the powerful caucus forced a change of heart by Buhari in the configuration of the transition committee.
It was gathered that the General had confided in top officials of the outgoing government that he would make the vice-president-elect, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, chair his transition committee but last minute pressure from the Northern caucus was said to have altered the calculation and ensured the emergence of a former Chairman of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), Mallam Ahmed Joda, as head of the transition committee.
But other independent sources also told the Sunday Tribune that the decision to change Osinbajo as the chairman of the transition committee might be aimed at insulating him from the politics of the early days.
A source said that Buhari had earlier told the outgoing government that the vice-president-elect would head his transition committee since Vice-President Namadi Sambo is the head of the government’s transition team.
The deal, however, changed at the last minute following some other calculations, the sources said.
It was learnt that a think-tank that worked on the composition of the transition committee told the president-elect that Osinbajo should be insulated from politics at this time.
Sources, however, indicated that while the representation from the North appears strong and is made up of persons who have direct access to General Buhari, the same cannot be said of those that make the list from the southern parts of the country.
It was also touted that the South-West got four nominees on the 18-man committee due to the influence of Senator Bola Tinubu.
A source, however, said that only Mr Wale Edun appears to be the close ally of Tinubu on the committee, while some of the names; especially that of a technocrat, Mr. Doyin Salami, were influenced by Ogun State governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun.
Besides the composition of the committee reflecting a strong Northern configuration, a source said that the committee also has as its secretary Mallam Adamu Adamu, while Salami will serve as its vice chairman.
The transition committee also includes former Legal Adviser to the defunct Congress for Progressive Change (CPC), Abubakar Malami and a close ally of General Buhari, Senator Hadi Sirika as well as General Lawal Jafaru Isa, who is being touted as the incoming Minister of Defence.
Other members of the committee are Mr. Boss Mustapha; Malam Muhammad Hayatuddin; Alhaji Abubakar Malami (SAN); Professor Tam David-West; National Chairman of the APC, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, Rivers State governor, Chief Rotimi Amaechi; Mr. Festus Odimegwu; Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu; Mrs. Nike Aboderin; Mrs. Bola Adesola; Mr Solomon Dalong and Chief Audu Ogbeh.
Before the 18-man committee was unveiled, General Buhari had nominated an inauguration committee being led on the APC side by former Governor of Bayelsa State, Chief Timpre Silva and also has as its members Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa; Ambassador Babagana Kingibe; Alhaji Isa Funtua and Alhaji Abubakar Kawu Baraje.

You Can't Insult Northerners and Stay in Power -Kwankwaso;-

Kano state governor, Rabiu Kwankwaso on Monday spoke on why President Goodluck Jonathan lost re-election.

According to DAILY POST, Kwankwaso said, ''He (Jonathan) didn’t know who is who in this country; he was just looking at faces and those who were dressed very well. He meets them at the airport and he smiles and says ‘these are good people,’ he sits down and listens to gossips, ‘oh this man is bad, this man is good in so so places’ and sometimes he doesn’t even know the names and at the end of the day he made a big mistake by picking the wrong people.

''Our leaders who were in this game before us, those who were in the 1st Republic especially, told us so much about our friends in this country and if you happen to come from South South, where they were very close to our leaders, they had done everything possible to work with that part of the country. But of course (Jonathan) misused the opportunity to the extent that many of us felt that with him there, we have no future as a people and as individuals and that is why we had to come and organise ourselves to defeat him.

''Look at what the wife was saying that northerners were bearing children and throwing them away. How could you say that to northerners? With due humility, we are masters of the game. A timber merchant, Olusegun Ojo (59) and an electronics dealer, Igweibuike Obinna (47), are in the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) net for alleged drug trafficking.

They were arrested at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA) in Ikeja, Lagos, during their trips to the United States (U.S) and United Kingdom (U.K)

Ojo was caught during the outward screening of passengers on a Delta Airline flight to New York, U.S; Obinna was nabbed on a Virgin Atlantic flight to Heathrow in London.

NDLEA airport commander Hamza Umar said preliminary investigation showed that Ojo, who hails from Ilesa, Osun State, ingested 75 wraps of substances that tested positive for heroin weighing 1.090kg. Obinna, from Anambra State inserted six wraps in his anus and ingested 11 wraps making a total of 17 wraps of cocaine weighing 335 gramms.

Ojo said his involvement in drug trafficking was due to financial hardship.

“I am married to two wives with five children. My problem started in 2013 when I lost N2 million to fraudsters. In the process, I became indebted and had been running from pillar to post without any solution. A young man introduced me into drug trafficking to enable me pay my debts. Initially, I dismissed the suggestion but when my condition was not getting better, I decided to take the risk. The $10, 000 they promised me would have gone a long way in solving my problem. This is my first time of smuggling drugs,” Ojo said.

Obinna said he would have made N1 million from the deal.

“I sell electronics at Alaba market in Lagos. I agreed to smuggle drugs because I would have made N1 million to invest in my business. I also needed money to take care of my family. I am married with two children,” he said.

NDLEA Chairman/Chief Executive Ahmadu Giade said it was gladdening that the number of arrests has reduced on the U.S. and U.K. routes, adding: “We are working very hard to replicate similar feats on others.”
