SportsAFCON 2015 QUALIFIER: Ike Uche Promises Goals In Return For Recall To Eagles by iconize(op): 9:34am On Nov 06, 2014
https://cdn.akamai.thisdaylive.com/0bef99d6-acf5-4e2c-9779-8fa02ba3fcd4/assets/171212F2.Ikechukwu-Uche.jpg?maxwidth=400&maxheight=540

Recalled Super Eagles forward, Ikechukwu Uche, has promised Nigerians who rooted for his recall to the senior national team goals ahead of the country’s two must-win clashes with Congo and South Africa in 2015 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

The Villarreal of Spain goal poacher told Super Eagles Media Officer, Ben Alaiya, yesterday that he was looking forward to joining his team mates for the crucial games.

Uche last played for the Super Eagles at the 2013 AFCON Nigeria won in South Africa.

After a period of being frozen out of the team for what Coach Stephen Keshi described as his ‘poor team attitude’, the 30-year-old former Iwuanyanwu Nationale player was handed a recall to the Eagles a fortnight ago.

Uche who has netted 18 times in senior internationals with Nigeria is eager to hit the ground running.

“I had a conversation with Ikechukwu Uche on Tuesday evening and he told me he can’t wait to join the team. He’s very excited by the prospect of playing for the Super Eagles again,” spokesman of the national team, Alaiya confirmed on Wednesday.

The media chief added that Uche was looking forward to adding to his 18 international goals by scoring in the upcoming game against Congo and South Africa.

“Uche says nothing beats scoring for Nigeria and that he will want to do it again in the matches we will be playing this month.

“He wants to make the fans, his teammates and indeed all Nigerians happy with a great display in the games. He knows Nigerians expect a lot from him,” Alaiya told supersport.com.

Uche made his Nigeria debut in 2007 and has gone on to amass 44 senior caps since then.

The attacker has been in decent form for his Spanish club, Villarreal this term and has netted three goals in all competition for the Yellow Submarine.

I doubt you have made an honest evaluation about Nigerians on here .cos the same thing you accuse the ghanaians for is the same things the nigerians do. Being the majority on here does not make you right. Ghanaians have never used nigerian as a yard stick and will never. What ever seems right is what we would rather emulate. When ghana started nigeria was still learning. Yet ghana never laid emphasis to all that. What ever brought ghana to its present demise was not trying to be like Nigeria but mismanagement by the current ndc party. U guys have a very bad ego problem
You lie. A Nigerian will never conceal his plights just to measure up.

A Nigerian might conceal his plights probably to extort, deceive and outshine you, yes! But to measure up is a no no.

Now, tell us at the time Ghana started, and also when Nigeria was learning. grin grin grin grin

The last thing we need is another influx of illegal aliens from Ghana.
My NL assessment on Ghanaians has opened my eyes to see that Ghanaians are dumb, proud lots.

A Ghanaian will conceal his plights just to look good and measure up with a Nigerian. They measure their successes using Nigeria(ns) as a yardstick.

So they'd rather run to their European masters than seek help from Naija.

NDLEA arrests Ghanaian comedian for drug ingestion

A Ghanaian comedian, Musah Iddrisu, and a Congolese, Inana Cedrick, have been arrested the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency.

Iddrisu and Cedrick were arrested during the inward and outward screening of Ethiopian airline passengers respectively at the Akanu Ibiam International Airport, Enugu.

NDLEA Commander at the airport, Mr. Udoh Nsikak-Abasi, said, “Iddrisu was found to have ingested 450 grammes of cocaine. He was on his way to Thailand.  Cedrick was caught with 1.500 kilogrammes of heroin which he tried importing into the country.

“A third suspect, a Nigerian, John Nwadilichukwu, was also arrested.  He was to receive Cedrick at the airport, collect the drug and pay him for smuggling the drug.”

The heroin was said to have been hidden inside a luggage.

Twenty-year-old Cedrick, who claimed to be a secondary school student in Tanzania, said, “I was given the drug in Nairobi by a Nigerian woman who told me to give the drug to her husband, Nwadilichukwu, in Enugu.

“I wanted to use the money they promised to pay me in buying beads for sale in Tanzania. I am a secondary school student from a poor home.”

Iddrisu, aka Charles Udunehi, who bought the cocaine for $19,000, said he had wanted to sell them in Thailand.

He said, “I got involved in drug trafficking because of my financial predicament.

I bought the drugs in Ghana, ingested it and came to Enugu airport. As it is a new airport, I felt the security will not be like other airports, but I was wrong.”

Chairman of the NDLEA, Mr. Ahmadu Giade, said adequate efforts had been made to apprehend drug traffickers at the Enugu airport.

He said, “We have already deployed our officials to the Enugu airport before it commenced international flights. Adequate security measures have been put in place to apprehend drug traffickers at the airport.”
