It all happened about 19 years ago when i was with my uncle at ibadan. My uncle had a wife who newly gave birth then, and i was asked to be with them, so as to baby sit the child. On getting there, my aunty told me that my uncle's attitude changed immidiately she became pregnant. He started keeping girlfriends of which one was 3 houses away from ours. He kept late nights, which went longer than normal one day that my aunt and i were in great panic for hours. As soon as it was 11:00pm my aunt told me to go and sleep that if my uncle came back that i shouldn't open the door for him. So, we both went to bed. About few moments later, we got awoken by his car, looking at the time, it was past 1:00am. He banged the door for some time but no one responed and after which we heard his car jerk to life and he zoomed off. The next day, he didn't talk to any one including me. My uncle also drinks but not as much as he smokes. He was a heavy smoker. My aunty always tell him that he doesn't like men who smokes but he wouldn't listen. My aunty used to say he married him because he was decent, yet he didn't listen. Her warning kepting ringing for days... not until one day. It was on a cool evening like this and i was with aunty at the balcony, that was how uncle called "Elijah", Ah... i ran to him in the sitting room. "go and buy me a packet of benson" he gave me money and i went. When i came back, I gave it to him. He lit it up and started dragging in, and puffing. My aunty on seeing this, gave me the little baby and went inside. She went to the packet of cigarrette, brought out one, snatched the match box from her husband, lit it, took a drag and puffed. My uncle was astonished, he didn't believe what he saw at first. My aunty took out another, lit it up with the one in her mouth. Smoked the first one till it got finnished, started the second, finished it, brought out the third lit it and was about finishing it... while my uncle was still in his number one. On seeing this, my uncle dusted his cigarrette, turned it off, squeezed the pack and screamed... Elijah, go and throw it away. Little did my uncle know that my aunty whom he thought was a gentle and calm woman, was a hardened smoker while she was in boarding school. Ever since then, my uncle quited smoking. He change drastically. My uncle that 11pm used to be his closing hours... to our greatest suprise 2pm became his closing hour. Althrough that week till i left their apartment, my uncle became the man who my aunt said she fell in love with. |

The management of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation has retired about 40 group general managers and general managers at the oil firm. It was gathered on Thursday in Abuja that the affected GGMs and GMs were asked to leave the employ of the oil firm on Wednesday. Sources at the corporation also stated that the reorganisation touched other very senior positions at the headquarters of the national oil firm, as well as in some of its subsidiaries. “The one that is raising concern at the corporation is that most or all the top management staff from M-3 to M-4 who are due for retirement within a year were asked to leave yesterday (Wednesday),” an impeccable source told our correspondent in Abuja. It was gathered that group general managers were on M-3, while general managers were categorised on M-4. The GGMs, who operate from the corporate headquarters are equivalent to managing directors of subsidiaries of the corporation, while the GMs, who work at the subsidiaries, are equivalent to executive directors. The source added, “About 40 GGMs and GMs were asked to leave, as they were retired by the corporation yesterday (Wednesday). Most of those affected are also not happy because they felt they were not due for retirement. “However, they were all asked to leave yesterday and that is raising dust and concern among staff at the corporation.” On what was the reason why they were asked to resign, the source stated that the management said it was done for the upcoming employees to have positions to fill. The source added, “But ask yourself this question, how long will it take the upcoming staff to get to those positions? “The system is currently heated up and employees from certain regions of the country are not happy about this.” Another source stated that a top chief operating officer was redeployed to head another department that was viewed as lesser than his previous office. The source said, “As at this week, the corporation witnessed a massive shakeup. The management had to readjust some prominent positions. “One of such is the movement of a top chief operating officer from a position that he only assumed last year to another position of COO that is not comparable to his former office.” This, according to sources, was not welcomed by some persons in the corporation, especially those from the region where the affected COO hailed from. “Another issue is that in the corporation, we have two categories of subsidiaries, the ones considered as redundant and the ones considered as grade A subsidiaries, such as NAPIMS, NPDC, shipping, NNPC Trading, PPMC,” a source said. The source further stated that “under the present dispensation, one would have expected some form of balancing in terms of postings to these subsidiaries. But as it is right now, most of the positions in these subsidiaries are headed by people from one region of the country.” When contacted, the acting spokesperson of the corporation, Samson Makoji, did not confirm any of the development, but insisted that the corporation would issue a statement if there was need for such. “If we doing something, we will officially announce it. So let’s just leave it at that,” he stated. https://punchng.com/shake-up-as-nnpc-asks-40-ggms-gms-to-go/?fbclid=IwAR3x0jhAUw9txZCoIv7vT7zUrzhANW-8OmqEs1YL545ZRRe2C1O7ohmpJq8 |

FULANI CASE, The Hausa's should hijack this moment and start pushing for their rulers. They've been slaves for the Fulani's for centuries and their archaic terrorism religion. The PDP candidate in the last general elections was the first Hausa politician who nearly won the election and am sure 2023 will be fire for fire. The Hausa's got no say in modern KANO. my2cents |
The Kaduna State Government has named deposed Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II, as the Chancellor of the Kaduna State University (KASU). He succeeds the pioneer Chancellor, Tagwai Sambo, the Chief of Moro’a, who was appointed to the role in 2005. A statement from the Kaduna Government House announced the new appointment. “On behalf of the government and people of Kaduna State, Malam Nasir El-Rufai is delighted to appoint His Highness, Muhammadu Sanusi II as the Chancellor of the Kaduna State University. In public life, His Highness has demonstrated a strong commitment to education,” Muyiwa Adekeye, special adviser to Governor El-Rufai on media and communication said in a statement he sent to PREMIUM TIMES. “The Kaduna State Government has no doubt that as Chancellor, His Highness Muhammadu Sanusi, would provide symbolic and substantive leadership in raising the profile of KASU as an emerging centre of learning on the national and global level. “This appointment of the new chancellor comes at an exciting moment for KASU which is transiting to a multicampus structure with presence across the state. “HH Muhammadu Sanusi II replaces the pioneer Chancellor, HH Malam Tagwai Sambo, the Chief of Moro’a, who has served in that role since 2005. Governor El-Rufai has conveyed the profound appreciation of the government to HH Malam Tagwai Sambo for the long years of distinguished service to KASU and the state. “Malam Nasir El-Rufai welcomes with gratitude the consent of His Highness Muhammadu Sanusi to serve as Chancellor of KASU and as Vice-Chairman of the board of KADIPA. https://www.premiumtimesng.com/news/top-news/381304-breaking-el-rufai-appoints-sanusi-chancellor-of-kaduna-state-university.html?fbclid=IwAR1iKAkzZvpy0910NCZTUnZzBg7pFNH2heEGPWPv6hZEMUcs7aprlQ6-log |
