If viewed through a sociological and developmental standpoint,One would come to understand that the alarming prevalence of masturbation can be chalked up to the pruddish way in which the society in general and our African parents specifically view male-female relationship especially during our teenage and adolescent phases of our lives.Although they have a good intention for doing so in order to prevent complications of excessive teenage exuberance like unwanted pregnancy and so on and so forth,Overdoing it only encourages the evolving teenager to take a default path to explore his/her sexuality.That is where masturbation comes in.
While growing up,my parents incessantly urged me to leave women and focus on my education.As the first son,I felt this obligation to impress my parents so I heeded their advice.When my teenage hormones started raging on,I sought an outlet to explore my sexuality.I did not see associating with girls as a means to do that since my parents frowned at it.That was when I discovered masturbation.At first,I enjoyed the attendant pleasure that come from it.When I grow older and came of age,I realize how much harm I have caused myself.I can't even muster up the courage to approach a girl.My will power was battered so badly that relapse became commonplace.Reading became somewhat of an Herculean task because my mind was always foggy.Not to talk about the tiring effect it had on my body.All this has being going on for the past 9 years.This year,I decided to take back my life.
In a nutshell,No matter how it is painted,masturbation is evil and should never be encouraged.
