richmond500: Let's be honest, Dangote fuel is not more expensive that imported ones else these countries won't buy from him. Those corrupt NNPCL and independent marketers knows what they are doing. 1. They're laying to you, it's the Subsidy cabal fighting back to protect their scams and FX transfers out of Nigeria. 2. Was fuel cheaper before Dangote entered the market? 4. Where is the sense and wisdom in draining our meager FX to import what you have? Who are you doing,? You are doing yourself? Keep letting fuel cabal drain your FX into their pockets , it won't stop foreign comps from buying every drop of Dangote products. It's your loss. |

wiseoneking: SS overtaking SW despite the presence of Lagos. 85% of SW IGR is from Lagos alone. I think SS ought to be praise this time around.
GDP is actually the measure of wealth of state not IGR. IGR is as a result of taxation of goods, coys, individuals etc. I'd love to praise the SS, but of what relevance is their money when there's nothing to show for it? Lagos is the only State justifying and showing what they're doing with their earnings. Imagine States with 2-3 million people and a lot of money performing below Lagos state with 20-30 million people, huge scope of responsibilities and the 2nd largest civil service in Nigeria. One of their former governors is in jail for diverting over N1 trillion. |

Kukutente23: Oh so you're actually referring to 1979 as one of his sins Well, the problem with folks like you is he listed what he achieved between 1999-2007 and you're here ranting about 1979. That's strange not so. You totally missed what he was saying Operation Feed the Nation was in 1976, not 1979, and if you have a list of his achievements, why not make yourself useful by listing them? You also lack basic knowledge regarding the subject matter, but nothing stops you from reading and educating yourself before you open your mouth. So, if he looted in 1976, it doesn't matter, and we shouldn't talk about it. We should only be concerned about 1999 to 2007. Something is seriously wrong with your crooked and corrupt brain. |

Thats because GEJ was one of the few Presidents that ruled us after you
Jonathan was shit...Under him, billions was wasted for no just cause
I remember Dansuki I remember Stella Oduah bullet proof cars
Ngozi Okonjo couldnt account for the missing $20m under her
GEJ oversaw the most corrupt practices ever in Nigerian history. The biggest heists too
We should skip his era and erase his name from our history OBJ and his PDP looting gang really destroyed our economy. OBJ always hide under the debt relief that actually was a giveaway to foreign countries, he wants us to look the other way when it comes to his in own personal looting and stealing. This man started operation feed the nation and squandered and embezzled billions in dollars, but we did not not see the food, all we saw at the same time was his own modern agric farm. Same thing with education, after the billions budgeted for education, all we saw was his own private University and ASU strikes every month. Electricity nko, this man still left us in darkness after looting and stealing $16 billion power funds. His other brother Jona accumulated the largest oil wealth in the history of Nigeria, N51 Trillion, but by the time he left office, he's declared austerity measures twice, he was borrowing hundreds of billions every month to pay salaries which ge did till his last day in office. At the end of Jonas term in office, nearly all our states were bankrupt and had to be rescued with bailout loans twice. On top of all that, to they left thousands of abandoned projects everywhere, they owned airlines, they pooted and privatized all our institutions and companies and decimated millions of jobs in the process, and never even bothered to pay their gratuities and pensions. They were servicing our debts with over 90% of our budget. And the unfortunate finance minister okonjo did her own too. She did not bother to use the massive income when oil was selling for $100 per barrel to diversity our economy, but she managed to divert $2.3 billion for Dasuki ATM to loot and share with their PDP cronies. Many Nigerians actually think their problems started today or under APC when in fact it started decades ago. With over 20 states bankrupt, and the government servicing debt with 99%=of the national budget, couldn't pay salaries and the government borrowing billions to pay workers salaries , the economy was totally dead years before APC. OBJ is a shameless old man, he supervised the destruction of the Nigerian economy but made sure to use our resources to build private business and a university while in office. |

Botswana, a country once labelled the poorest country in the world, who gained independence 5 years later than Nigeria, now has a GDP per capita which is 3 times that of Nigeria. This is the result of eradicating corruption.
Since 1960, only regression, no progression whatsoever. Na wa o! The President of the African Development Bank (AfDB), Akinwunmi Adesina, has confirmed that his institution, in collaboration with others, will mobilize $15 billion for the construction of the Lagos-Abidjan Highway project. AfDB is not Nigeria or a Nigerian institution. Nigeria is not funding the project and it's not a Nigerian project Make una learn how to read small small.. Babajide Sanwo-Olu @jidesanwoolu Today, I declared open the Lagos Physical Planning Summit 2024, with the theme; Rethinking Lagos: A New Vision for a Regional and Integrated Megacity.
The summit is an opportunity for us to engage in discussions about the future of our city and explore innovative strategies for its development.
It was a pleasure to have former governor Babatunde Raji Fashola in attendance and his invaluable experience and insights into the planning of Lagos definitely enriched the conversation. |

I am pleased to announce that women were a greater number among the 5,512 graduates of the 2023/2024 LEEP skill acquisition courses held across our 19 skill centers in Lagos State.
This achievement reflects our commitment to gender equality and inclusion, aligned with the THEMES+ development agenda of our administration.
During the graduation ceremony today, I reiterated the importance of skills acquisition in our fight against poverty and our efforts to empower women, young adults, and vulnerable groups. We are dedicated to fostering an environment where skilled individuals can thrive.
I encouraged the graduates to innovate, inspire their peers, and stay connected with one another, leveraging the networks they have built as they embark on their new paths. |

Babajide Sanwo-Olu @jidesanwoolu Recently, we held the Onboarding Ceremony for 2,500 interns in the Lagos State Graduate Internship Placement Programme (GIPP).
This initiative was created to tackle the issue of youth unemployment while helping young people gain valuable skills and experiences.
There is a significant gap between what students learn in school and the practical skills needed in the workplace. This gap often leaves many graduates struggling to find jobs. That’s why the GIPP was established: to help bridge this divide and ensure that graduates, especially post-NYSC graduates, are well-prepared to thrive in their careers.
We take the issues faced by our youth seriously, and we are committed to making a difference. Programs and initiatives like GIPP respond to the urgent need for solutions that empower young people and create real opportunities for them.
The ultimate goal is to help these young individuals build sustainable wealth across various industries, reflecting our administration’s dedication to the future of our youth.

Other States are building their own ports with their own money, but the supposedly richest people, the smartest, the most industrious and the superior race in black Africa cannot join money together to build a seaport. MadPolitician: New one! According to the agbadorian professor of "Make it up as you go" here, a president can wake up and hand over national assets to say Clifford Orji if he feels that that is in the national interest! Very interesting civic education right there.
Why was Obasanjo wasting massive resources with his privatisation programme then? He could have easily handed the Portharcourt refinery to Dangote, the failed banks to Otedola and NITEL to Adenuga! Who doesn't knownthese three would have run those better?? And he should have done that with just an executive order!! And ofcourse, with no recourse to the constitution or National Assembly!!! Is that not wonderful? I bet not even your villages meeting has been run with such agbadorian alacrity!!!
Our "Come and chop" government and their internet hirelings will never kill me and you with their patented brand of convulated bulaba logic. There's a difference between privatization and discretion in handing over FG properties to the host states, states are not private entities or for-profit organizations. Again, keep up with civic education. |
Politics › Re: Sanwo-Olu Signs MOU With FG, Inspects Landmark Centre. by idealogical: 7:00am On Oct 04, 2024 |
MadPolitician: "Dead assets" should be privatised through a well organised privatisation process sanctioned by the national assembly. The constitution must recognise the process. That is not the case here. These multi billion naira edifices, were give to Lagos state for free. They are not supposed to be handed over to an APC state by a federal government led by an APC president! That is what we call "conflict of interest". It is corruption, but how would you know, if you are a member of a party that has more or else normalised corruption in the country?
I wasn't arguing with anyone. I stated a very clear point. Federal assets must go through clear processes known to the constitution, before being handed over to anyone. These are not properties built or bought by Lagos state. They were built by the federal government as federal assets! You wouldn't see my point because somehow, the illegality going on at the moment favours you and your principals. But if tomorrow, a president not from the APC comes on, and starts handing all sorts of federal government built assets to say Gwari people in Abuja, I'm sure the notorious Lagos ibadan expressway media houses will be up in arms as usual. During the construction of the Lekki Ikoyi bridge, 2 FG properties stood in the way and after pleading by Fashola, President Yaradua gave the go-ahead to destroy the FG government properties. Fashola also begged GEJ to use the NRC rail line during the initial stages of the Lagos State Metro Line, GEJ said No simply because of opposition politics, but the next President gave his blessing, and now we have the Red Line to serve millions of Nigerians. The president/the executive is free to use his or her discretion via executive order to effect changes and transfer of FG properties. The transfer was done in the open in front of Nigerians, the House, and the Senate, so why didn't they object? Keep up with civic education. |
