please I just want to get something clear, did anyone get the mail I got with regards to this new currency control measure that requested that for the visa to be processed further I have to open a Canadian bank account or get a bank draft in convertible currency or get a written assurance from central bank the the one year fees and living expenses would be exported. please I just want to know if anyone else got it or if it's just me..... please

Please is this the new tradition? Am confused o cos this is not easy getting o. A bank draft in the name of who? Canadian bank account which am sure is not easy to open from here and presently frowned at by the govt of d day to export money to private account and not the institution account.

I got a notification from Grad cord of my department that i have been recommended for admission for MA History at memorial university with fundings (the amount is unknown yet as i still await the official mail from SGS.

My question is that my sponsor does not bear my surname but he is willing to do the sponsoring because its a year program. I dont know the documents to put together to back this up as MUN dont take tuition deposit until resumption. What other proof could be given to show his sincerity.

Your responce will be greatly appreciated.

This was what i got from my supervisor yesterday.

Hi,

The Graduate Coordinator and Committee has just this morning made applicant files available to the rest of the department for their comments. This is somewhat later than usual and the delay is due almost entirely to a flood of applications that have recently arrived due to numerous foreign students choosing Canada rather than the US to pursue their studies.

Apparently the Grad Committee will be meeting early next week to review those comments and the files so applicants should be hearing from the committee shortly thereafter.

Please i need a clarification as to the mistake which has been the order of the day. It has kept me in a confused state in which made me to seek your assistance in clarifying this issue.

I applied for a visa lottery in 2013 to Canada through Jonathan King Ltd in 2013, I did not submit anything then only my passport number was written on the form. I did not do any biometrics nor submit my docs like certificates, police report etc. and in fact, have never applied through the online application nor the paper route before. Therefore, in answering the question on if a visa have been refused before, then what should i put (YES/NO). Although, it was a provincial lottery then.

I salute u all. For 2 months plus, i have been a silent reader and a constant visitor of this thread.

For MUN applicants, in few days time, reply should come for those that had thier admission closed 15th of Feb or before. I also applied to MUN for Fall admission to History dept for a masters program, discussing with my potential supervisor when i asked him of the possibility of being admitted, he said "when your file gets to me i will make a convincing case for you, but note that the final decision still recets with d grad committee". Have been thinking of what exactly he is trying to pass accross (help is needed).

Also, i have read posts on d visa application. I must say a big congratulations to those that had gotten n to everyone that has not gotten in advance. I want to ask, while applying for a trv and when asked if a visa has been rejected before can a yes be given? cos i applied for a visa lottery (a provincial on though) to canada through Jonathan king in 2013 and i was not qualified. Can i say that have been rejected a visa before because i am in a dilemma.
