I just recently learned something new. Did you know "igbo" is a new spelling of us.  They used to call us "eboe". wonder why they changed it.  Anyway, the lightskin thing when it comes to igbo people isn't a new thing for us.  It has been with us since the beginning, long before europeans stepped foot in aFrica.  My mom and I read this book about a igbo girl and a fulani boy that caused a war between their two village(just because both of them were lovers) interesting book it was. Anyway, in the end of the book, it suggested other books to read. which i was able to find online also. Ndi igbo or better yet known as "ndi eboe" tend to be yellow in skincolor and during slavery, many other west african tribes hated us because of that. They used to insult us and claim we look "white and sickly" and white people used to insult us and claim "we look yellow with bile like eyes". Our nickname in the past was "west indies eboes" or "red eboe" but to other west african tribes we were "the sickly tribe"  Insulting isn't it. Looking down upon us for no reason. Wonder wetin we do? So all this hatration directed towards us, have been there since the beginning.  I wonder wetin we did to have other tribes turn against us?

Interesting isn't it.  I always used to think igbo people were dark like ola but hmm, it seems we were a diverse tribe even though other tribes insutled us because of that. I wonder why? oh well, i will never know unless i visited those eras abi?

I don't think the wooing will work though cause i read somewhere that Ghanaian government closed most of the Nigerian small businesses in Ghana but the big ones they left open.  So i highly doubt the investors will come unless they have big business.  But like Aliko dangote have been telling Nigerian investors to invest outside of naija and not outside of Africa like majority of them do (he claimed that's how he reached where he is now). I think the big businesses will invest but small businesses would be terrified to try (but who knows, it could happen).  I wish them luck, hope the guy that invested in tinapa, will also take notice of this wooing and invest in whatever the ghanaian government wants them to invest abi? it could help them alot cause his investment sure as hell helped calabar and tinapa(beautiful place, i come to naija this year, definately a must see place for me. My mom i've been there and she said it was beautiful.  I keep telling my father to invest in something in Naija but he won't listen (my brother told him to invest in tinapa while they were still building it but he didn't listen, now his regretting it LOL but he wants to invest in Naija music and movie industry).

My uncle has a store in Ghana, something he built when his business increased (he has it in Ghana, Nigeria, Ethiopia, Egypt, Angola, Algeria, Ivory Coast, USA, London, etc).  So are you trying to say my uncle is Lazy, etc.  He doesn't live in Ghana but in Lagos. He has been making money and giving out some of his money to charity in Ghana and other aFrican nation. Haba, maybe he should pull out of that country since he and other Nigerians (that i've seen with my own two eyes in ghana making an honest living) are Lazy.  You know what, i'll advise him to pull out since his lazy (highly doubt it would affect him that much, he pulled out of South Africa and that didn't affect his income that much). My advice to you, attack his job, try burning it down so he can pull off (since his lazy).  Don't know the exact location but all i know is it's in Makola(don't think i spelled it right) accra and another one in Kumasi(again, not sure if i spelled it right).  If you want to get rid of my uncle and his lazy ass shop; my advice, get his employers (which are mostly ghanaians and some naija) and tell them to revolt and try burning down his shop. Trust me, that will force him to leave Ghana quick. It's exactly what South Africans did and that chased my uncle out of that country quicker than the speed of light.

I do agree with papajima statement about the Bank Official--it didn't make sense. The "supposed" guy is a bank official in Nigeria, why import fake money into Ghana. I mean he can easily do it in the bank he manages and get away with it easily (it doesn't make sense). oh well, i typed the information in google hoping to find an article about the "supposed" guy--i wanted to see what exactly was his intention. Still doesn't make sense to me cause the guy would have used the fake money in Nigeria and deposited money in the bank he manages and noone would question him cause that's his bank. Was the guy running from EFCC, if so what's his name cause EFCC haven't chased any bank officials, it's mostly government officials. it still doesn't make sense to me but who knows.

I agree with this statement and i also agree that Ghana is a corrupt country just like Nigeria.  Both Ghana and Nigeria are high in the Corruption index. Hell Egypt is also high in the Corruption index.  Nigeria was the most corrupted in 1991, now that country have moved up from the red(meaning most corrupted) to yellow(meaning still corrupt but not that high). I highly doubt any Nigerian in their right mind would jump up and down and claim Nigeria isn't corrupt anyone.  Both Ghana and Nigeria is in Yellow index(meaning corrupt), the only difference is that Ghana is lower than Nigeria in that department.  But it still corrupt just like Nigeria---either this martass is blind or isn't really reading up or anything.

Also the thing i don't understand is why Ghanaians are so obessed with Nigerians. Abi, how many articles have they written telling everyone that Nigerians are criminals, yada, yada but when they need help, instantly they go to us begging for help. How many articles have they written talking about how their people are acting like Nigerians and comparing their country to ours. Why are they obessed? They should leave us alone. I've been to Ghana and Nigeria.  Pray tell other than Accra, WHAT IS GREAT IN GHANA? I thought Ghanaians want Nigeria out of Ghana so why are they wooing investors.  Well whatever, most Nigerian investors are still investing in Nigeria.  I do agree, all AFrican investors should invest in all African countries. So i wish them luck, highly doubt it would happen but i still wish them luck

I am not sure we are on the same page here. I am well aware of the numerous dialectical differences in Igbo language. My post (I believe the one you referred to) was a correction to TRACK's erroneous illustration that spoon is "Nganji" in Igbo while plate if "Afare".

Perhaps you should be telling him that using those words to show that Ukwuani are not Igbo did not help his argument, since the standard Igbo word for spoon is ngazi/ngaji while efele/efere stands for plate.

I'm igbo but i call plate efele. So using that didn't prove anything. Each igbo state use a different dialect than others. I know i can never understand anything delta igbo's say but can understand what anambra and enugu people say.

All i know is. I've been to both Ghana and Nigeria. I don't see that much of a difference especially when it comes to slums but what's new. Abi, Some Nigerians think Mali is better than Nigeria. some Nigerians think nigeria is a fourth world country. So not suprise.

@ poster, there isn't any different between Nigeria and Ghana, hell the person that posted the pics. You know that's stupidity right? I can easily start posting pictures from Virgin Island in Lagos and claim that's how all Nigeria looks like. @Ifygurl, I'm sure you saw what you saw but ever thought she probably looked darker due to the picture quality of the movie? I mean we all know Nigerian movies do not have the best picture qualities ever. All the movies I've seen Rita in, she was light skinned and those were long time ago, stopped watching naija movies a while ago. omotola too.
