Unlike some people here, I do not subscribe to the school of thought that a proof of your Igboness lies in your demonstration of hate or disdain for people of other tribes. I hate stereotyping with passion and at the risk of being tagged Igbo traitor, I condemn it in the strongest of terms and would abhor such with much the same degree I would any other tribe doing it to Igbos. It is an attitude many on this thread have, attempting to use hate as a rallying point in a we against them scenario by playing the victim card. Such attitude is beneath me as an individual and despicable to say the least. Let me make it clear that I do not hate any tribe and cannot put an entire tribe in the same bracket because of the actions of an individual or a few. Some people here unleashed their venom against me because my noble views were at variance with their hate-driven perspective of the Igbo situation in Nigeria. To such folks, I make no apologies whatsoever and never will. The brash display of arrogance that has characterized the discourse on this thread has degenerated to the point of some people despising other Igbo speaking people. I only joined this thread to celebrate developments in Anambra not to indulge in petty tribalism.
As a student of history, I know for a fact that it is this misplaced and false sense of superiority and hate-laced victimhood that Hitler used in mobilising the Germans in their misadventure against jews and the rest of Europe and today some charlatans in Igboland are using it to mobilise people for the Biafran cause that they don't understand too well. Comments here on nairaland prove that some of us see ourselves as superior and even discriminate against other Igbos let alone when they give you Biafra. I need not tell you there'll be strife because our attitude won't be any different. My stand regarding Biafra is one of a last resort thing as did Ojukwu but at the moment, the circumstance for that is non-existent. Any insult will be responded to in kind!

Y the hate between Igbo states . Tomorrow now somebody will tell me am a sell out for not supporting Biafra . How do you think we can lead Nigeria if we feel we are better than the others . At this rate its all man for himself . We have our own flaws yet we all act Like saints . Anambra people are in the position to strengthen the South east in everything, politically economically but instead they climb their horses and act like they have it all .. Have you observed Yoruba states cursing themselves "publicly " Lagos is developed and Ogun is benefitting heavily from them but u won't see Lagos person saying Ogun this or that ...
In my honest opinion to all Igbo states let's be real SE is not wonderful but it can be .all we need do is join hands and make it work not blowing our trumpets .

Enough of the rant already ! You know where to direct your frustrations, Igbo politicians. Why don't you direct you artillery at them for continuously selling out.

Have watched them over the decades betray their own for a meal of porridge. Watched how they betrayed Ekwueme in 1998, Watched Ohaneze host meetings of Igbo politicians and reel out communique of "Igbo Presidency or nothing" only to turn back and support incumbent weeks later to the detriment of their own, Watched many of them whom I know were awarded contracts for big projects in Igboland embezzle them and did nothing.

Truth is, we have to love ourselves(which doesn't translate to hating others), we have to learn the game of politics which is by building consensus with others. That was what Tinubu did successfully with the North and other Igbo leaders tried so unsuccessfully to direct our people to but people like you refused. Igbos can't stand alone, we must stake our claim in the Nigeria project through active collaboration with other ethnic groups in order to succeed. If you stand alone, don't claim others conspired against you, No! You didn't play your game well and lost. Our politicians from the time I know them are so self centred and Ndigbo are the least on their agenda. My point, I'm well versed in the history of persecution of our people before and during the war but if we allow hatred to blind us, we won't get anywhere. We need others in order to move in National politics and that is the only way to beat them in the game. Ojukwu kept talking about handshake across the Niger cos he knows that's the only way we can stake our claim.

Besides, our Governors working for us coupled with our aggressive enterprising nature, even without Federal help we'll be light years ahead of others in development just as in the present Anambra scenario, but will they? Didn't a certain T. A Orji mess Abia up leaving heaps of refuse for a legacy. Didn't he sack his Igbo brothers and Sisters of other states from Abia civil service? Didn't Enugu do the same when they got a new state in 1991? How does the Anambra man see the Enugu man when using the derogatory name Wawa to refer to him? Other examples abound. We need to love ourselves first irrespective of political boundary and dialect. That's why I tell people that those who think our problems will be over once they give us Biafra to think again cos it is then that internal strife will rear its head. South Sudan is a case in point. Enough!

You need psychiatric evaluation. Stop beating the drums of war as it does nobody no good. Think rather of how to live in peace with other Nigerians whilst we do our thing in making the entire Ani Igbo stand out from the rest of Nigeria. Biafra war is over and we're are already ahead of others in development, mostly from self-effort and recently with the help of responsible state governments. Therefore we should prove our competitiveness through development not fighting. Germany arose from the ashes of World War 2 to become the most advanced and richest country in Europe and is today leading the European Union as big Brother. A feat Hitler foolishly thought he could get through fighting, they got through hardwork and enterprise. Many Igbos have the erroneous impression that Ojukwu just wanted us to just have Biafra but no, Biafra was a child of necessity because of the killings. It was a last resort. He did so reluctantly. We're better off in Nigeria and proving to those envious of us that we are in a league of our own. I wish other Igbo States will wake up and catch the new drift taking place in Anambra and Enugu. All what Igbos need is to have selfless politicians, and we'll propell our own development. We have never depended on Federal.
