DomPerignon:Seun, why don't you do something about this? Nairaland is a place you hardly see intelligent discussions unlike what we see elsewhere. I remember even Zimbabwean Diaspora forum how things were there. Let's not talk about Quora and Reddit with tens of millions of users. Is it the standard of education we have in Nigeria ir your mods don't know their jobs? How could someone make pedestrian comment that adds no value to a discourse. We are talking about why intelligent tribes seem to be most maligned in Africa and some obtuse fellow is commenting nonsense? |
In the case of Nigeria, it has long been established that the British were behind the scene teleguiding the genocide against the Igbo. In fact, they even blacked out the killings such as bombing of Igbo markets and hospitals. The same British had their military instructors and weapons for Nigeria. The objective was simple - the Igbo intellect as black people was a threat to the colonialists. I made this comment on the second page: What people do not understand is that the world has never really been unipolar. Even when the white man's history claimed Rome was the world power, in far away China, there was a great empire, the Mongolian that balanced things even though the two empires may not have been in regular contact. Even Carthage sort of balanced Rome before it was destroyed. After the fall of Soviet Union, we now have China acting as a counterbalance to the United States. |
Two of the five most intelligent African tribes suffered genocides. Is it mere peer tribe jealousy or the hand of the colonialists?

Adaisback:States were created in Nigeria for the singular purpose of dividing the Igbos. |
AustineE1:He was no friend of Ndigbo but a British spy. I guess in his old age his conscience started whipping him over his ignoble role in passing important Biafran secrets to the Mi6. |
Those worst-hit by the recent Iran-Israeli war were arguably the highest-ranking Iranian generals. As ironic as it it, it has clearly laid a precedent in the art of war. Never have we witnessed a nation's top generals wiped out within hours of commencement of combat. In fact, Europe and Middle East have not been as interesting since Napoleon marched to Moscow. This got me thinking how the next Iran-Israeli war would pan out. As macabre as the thought is, it is not out of place considering the hard stance of each nation and considering the fact that the precursors that caused the war are still very much in place. These are; 1) Iran still has a hardline terror-loving regime in place. 2) The regime still is anti-Israel and would want to hurt the Jewish state if it could. 3) Israel would never permit Iran to own nuclear weapons. 4) Iran may still be in possession of 60% enriched Uranium. 5) If they are, Israeli Mossad is still keeping an eye on them to determine when they would try to enrich to weapon grade. So the next Iran-Israel war is not a matter of if, but when. Of course unless the present regime is overthrown soon. This brings me to how the next war could play out. If you've watched the movie Unforgiven, remember when Eastwood said Any man who doesn’t want to get killed, get out the back.” Now imagine the Israeli Defense Forces delivering a similar message—“To any Iranian commander who wants to live, resign before the first drone takes off.” And the result could be chaos in the Iranian military even before the first shot is fired.

nnachukz:That's what they don't understand. Even if half of Iran is destroyed, no one would do anything just the way no one did anything when Gaza was levelled. Israel's objectives of halting Iran's nuclear program has been achieved. I'm sure the remaining fissile materials which is 60% enriched isn't safe anywhere else aside the complex built for enrichment. What more, it may even fall into the hands of mossad if the Iranians aren't careful. Rebuilding an enrichment project would take decades and any attempt to enrich to weapon grade would be met with another war as long as Israel is concerned. They're even lucky Trump is a pacifist republican. Otherwise, this war would have lasted until Iran is ruined. They better de-escalate at this time to avoid that. |
adebowales:But Europeans decided what happen in Nigeria na? Remember your country is British business enterprise. Are British not Europens? |

The report emphasized the seriousness of Iran’s current situation, noting that Khamenei’s son Mojtaba, once rumored to be a frontrunner, is not among the named successors. The man doesn't want stories that touch. He knows Israel is doing promo of Buy One Get 2 FREE. That his son could become history even before him if he names him a successor. Interestingly, Israel has a weird sense of humor and may even eliminate the three successors the same day to confound the old man even more. |

surgical:Nigeria is a terrible place. What annoys me most is the media calling genocide "farmer-herder clash" just to cover up what's happening. Hopefully it'll reach the villages of those idiioots. |
DeathParade:A large infantry without a superior technology is a meat grinder. Russia could withstand Germany not just because of a large army but also a robust industrial complex that immobilized the Germans. Iraq had a large army but lacked the technology to halt the west. So the large infantry simply dissolved. A motivated infantry can hurt not stop invaders only through a guerilla warfare as seen in Vietnam and Afghanistan but at immense cost. Even such motivation is possible only in countries with homogeneity and not an amalgam like Nigeria whete tribe comes before country. |
BreconHills:North Korea has ballistic missiles as well as nuclear weapons. As someone rightly pointed out, ballistic missiles in the hands of Nigerian military would be dangerous. If it doesn't fall into the hands of Boko Haram, bandits may commandeer it. Even if it's still with the military, it would be used against Nigerian community, especially in the south and middle belt. If you're from thes two regions and still believe you have a country, you'll learn soon enough. |
nedu666:I know a foreign forum where the chap would have become a millionaire with his post count. Imagine wasting life on NL and earning nothing. Total waste of life. What's pathetic is that he's still very broke and enjoying his dafftness instead of making effort to make his life count for something reasonable. |

UpaIweka:. madridguy:Some of you post like you're children of twelve. You don't really get it. Trump is joining because he saw how easily Israel finished Iran. The reasons are: 1) Iran is an immensely rich country and the traditional Whiteman's greed in Trump won't allow him bypass the opportunity to loot the country after Ayatollah's regime collapses. Even the UK and EU would want a cut of the deal. It is their window of opportunity to deprive Russia of that privilege they've enjoyed for decades. 2) Trump is aware that Israel cannot put boots on ground or contractors in Iran. That would anger the Arab world and more, Israel doesn't have that capacity to hold unto Iran on ground. Even America doesn't. So Trump and his horde of greedy capitalists would instal a pro-West government and then bleed Iran dry from there. 3) Israel would want the cost of the war borne by Iran. Trump's US would partly front for Israel in this regard through more military and financial aid behind-the-scene, but in reality, the real people paying for it is Iran. So Trump is eager to join the war to loot Iran, not necessarily to help Israel because Israel is comfortablly on top of the game here. |
T9ksy:Even then we'll still have solution. Did you see how Cameroon took Bakassi from Nigeria? That's how we'll take two states using International Court if you guys touch our investment. It's an investment from the past to the future. |
It's far safer than dying you know? Thank God it's not Lagos. budaatum: |
That's a very naive foreign minister. Being from an Islamic theocracy I'm not surprised. What he failed to understand is that it is already too late for Iran and her government because the focus of the Europeans and the americans is now the spoils of war. Unless a people understand the traditional Whiteman's greed, they would be at a loss on how to deal with them. The ayatollah simply played into the West's trap by provoking Israel to the point of war. France, UK, US and and other close allies are like vultures at the moment waiting for the downfall of the regime to swoop down for the loot. While Spain would be kicking themselves for not siding with Israel during the Gaza operation. The whole essence at this time is to grab Iranian resources from Russia and China. The same Trump he is calling on would be in charge using the pretext of his partnership with Bibi. a scenario that Israel wouldn't mind at all since they wouldn't want the angst of the arab world by being seen to be among the vultures in Iran. Behind the scene, Trump would pay Israel for the cost of the war with more aids in arms deals while all that would be money stolen from the Iranians. The losers? Iran. The consequence of permitting narrow-minded people into positions of leadership. |
gmo10:Why do I find this amusing? The reason is that nothing will be done and in a few weeks like typical africans, the next wave of killings would happen and a politician would say this same thing this cracker just said nd someone in this forum would agree with him just as you just did and the cycle continues. Until you africans understand that you do not have countries but contraptions imposed on you all by people who came from thousands of miles away, you'd remain sitting ducks and butt of jokes. Tell me one European country or any genuinely organic country this could happen. Until you guys start asking uestions like real homosapiens, nothing would change. |
nairalanda1:In Thermodynamics, there is a concept called Otto cycle. It means that it is possible to waste energy and still accomplish nothing. That's exactly what you have done. It is appalling that it is only in NL that adults post like children of twelve. Just try visiting a foreign forum to get what I'm hinting at. |
Pity ...this is a guy who was senate president for years but never deemed it necessary to figure out laws or ways to stop the marauders. |
Emiefele, a reprieve for you is good. Hopefully, other Igbos are learning from you. Of all the looters in Buhari government, only you was made scapegoat by the Fulani and Yoruba because you're Igbo. The lesson is: if you're Igbo in the midst of adversaries, keep your hands clean because they'll settle their differences with you. Out dear Emiefele, you're home and dry in the pigsty. Just join APC and share some of your loot with them. All your sins would be forgiven. Then you don't rejoin the looting spree. But this time, don't forget who you are. I suggest you keep your hands clean like Peter Obi. You see how they have nothing to nail him with? That's how smart Igbo behave in their midst. |
This guy just woke up? I thought his problem was a second and third wife. Imagine having a voice and your people are massacred for decades. Anyway, it's the same African lunacy of aloofness when it doesn't hit home. Heard most of the massacres are against the Tivs who helped defeat the Islamic jihad of Uthman Fodio while this Tiface guy is Idoma. You see why the Tivs and MB should push for their own country and have their own army? But they won't because they're shortsighted Africans. |
These headdyslammmerians have brain probllem. From Hamas to Hezbollah to Houtis to Iran and Israel is decimating them all yet they're not circumspect. Even if they planned nuking Israel, must they make noise. I'm sure a third wave of mossad agents are already on the way to Islamabad. They too will learn soon. |
You don't seem to get it. The reason Nigerians cannot unite against the Fulani onslaught is that they have been pre-programmed to believe that the real threat facing them comes from Igbo. This is why these same Tiv people joined the Fulani and Hausa and others to massacred hundreds of fleeing Igbo families who escaped from the north in '66. These same Benue people being slaughtered like Salah rams today would forget what happened to them in a few days if they're presented with one reason to make Igbo the scapegoat. In fact, just say Igbo or Biafra and see how they would automatically realign with the Fulani because on a general note, the hatred most Nigerians have for Igbo is stronger than their survival instinct. Remember that the 'Where are the cows? Is Evans a herdsman?' crooner is now the C-inC. Did you notice how he slipped in Igbo? He knows the hatred for the tribe unites most Nigerians. Did you see how they have started complaining about Igbo buying land in their SW region? It is a spontaneous response typical of Nigerians to deflect their insecurities on Igbo because the country is concept of a people (British) who have acute hatred for Igbo. Reason? While other tribes in Nigeria succumbed to British rule in days or weeks, even the so-called empires, for nearly three decades the Igbo were resisting the whiteman's rule. Benue people, the MB and the rest of natives in Nigeria cannot see what calamity has befallen them because like most African tribes, they believe Nigeria is now their HERITAGE, not understanding that they actually have no say over their destinies, but are like slaves in a slave ship with the slave master's foreman in charge. Even the Fulani knows that all they need to do is keep most Nigerans pursuing rat (Igbo hate) while their houses (heritage/land) is taken from them. It's just a matter of time. Let me finally state here that of all the tribes in Nigeria, only the Fulani and Igbo think strategically. The rest are typical africans incapable of strategic insight. How do I know? While Fulani are bent on conquest, Igbo are bent on exit because they know what the Fulani plans. The rest are complacent. Do you know why? They're living for today - sharing free money from oil. Interestingly in the next few decades, most would be sharing it from IDPs. |
Can you give us the comparative sizes of Israel and Iran? It's not by size but the capacity of the people? Same SE you people cry have bought up Oke-Ado abi? Unfortunately, the sellers from SW used the money for Owambe ba? ![]() |
Benue people have been bought and sold. Where re the cows? Imagine calling out the PC governor as if he is the C-in C. Well, the good news is the evacuation of the LGs attacked. More IDPs for Benue people while Fulani move in. Politics matters. Who you permit to grab power matters even more. It shows. For instance, while Israel is fighting to stop Iranian missiles, IDPs are beginning to form in Iran. That's why effective leadership, not propaganda matters. 2027, still vote foolishly or permit incompetent people to grab power. Better still, give another Fulani power.... |
It's too early for the Jihadists to start crying for help. I said it last year that Israel would neutralize their nuclear program. Iran should just get ready for a regime change because Israel isn't joking. Less than 96 hours of combat they're already crying for help. Where are NL Hedslmmmerians boasting with Iran again? |
