DomPerignon:
You were eating yourselves and selling each other into slavery before the British came and put an end to your madness.

If not for British intervention and colonial rule , you would have eaten and harvested yourselves into extinction
Seun, why don't you do something about this? Nairaland is a place you hardly see intelligent discussions unlike what we see elsewhere. I remember even Zimbabwean Diaspora forum how things were there. Let's not talk about Quora and Reddit with tens of millions of users. Is it the standard of education we have in Nigeria ir your mods don't know their jobs? How could someone make pedestrian comment that adds no value to a discourse. We are talking about why intelligent tribes seem to be most maligned in Africa and some obtuse fellow is commenting nonsense?
PoliticsRe: Why Did Africa's Most Intelligent Tribes Suffer Genocides? by Igbophobia(op):
In the case of Nigeria, it has long been established that the British were behind the scene teleguiding the genocide against the Igbo. In fact, they even blacked out the killings such as bombing of Igbo markets and hospitals. The same British had their military instructors and weapons for Nigeria. The objective was simple - the Igbo intellect as black people was a threat to the colonialists.

I made this comment on the second page:

What people do not understand is that the world has never really been unipolar. Even when the white man's history claimed Rome was the world power, in far away China, there was a great empire, the Mongolian that balanced things even though the two empires may not have been in regular contact. Even Carthage sort of balanced Rome before it was destroyed. After the fall of Soviet Union, we now have China acting as a counterbalance to the United States.

What you'll notice in all these is that countries that are great consciously project their best through meritocracy. Those that project incompetence end up at the bottom of the race.

It has been established that the colonialists consciously projected tribes and groups who are more amenable to their interests and so less interested in the interest of natives. I think it's intentional because Africans are seen as less human and more of guardians of resources meant to feed the white man's greed. This is why there has been no African country where tribes with innovative and progressive traits were encouraged by the West to control power. This is why both the Tutsis and Igbos had to fight existential wars. The good news for Africa is that the Tutsis succeeded. Now about the Igbos.

Do you know why the Israel-Iran war lasted less than a week while the Israel-Hamas (Palestine) wars has lasted 2 years and counting? The reason is that both countries were prepared. I mean that unlike Hamas, the Iranians had something to bargain with - their missiles with the capacity to deliver warheads on Israel. Why were the Iranians prepared? They recognized the importance of merit unlike African countries like Nigeria still stuck on white man's biases against tribes with innovative traits and superior intelligence. You see, until Africans start asking themselves serious questions, the continent will never stand shoulder to shoulder with any other on earth. It is one thing for other races to regard you as subhuman and another for you not to get your acts together because of petty jealousy

You see Iran, Pakistan, India, Singapore, Malaysia and other near and far east emerging powers? Do you think they are all of superior intelligence than all Africans whose countries are practically moving in circles as warehouses for the white man's vision? Most of these countries got their independence less than 20 years before most African countries did. But today, in terms of progress, the comparison doesn't exist. Why? Africans are fixated on tribal squabbles and envy. They'd rather pull one another down than project merit. I earlier asked why Igbo children would be required to score close to 200 in the same exam some tribes can pass with score of 6. Tribal jealous. The Nigerian government feels that Igbo advancement is a threat to them, not realizing that it is a catalyst to an African renaissance.

Are you aware that as early as 1967 when the Igbo fought for independence under the defunct Biafra, they actually built rockets, missiles, war ships, armoured vehicles, bombs, airstrips, and even refined petroleum? Feats that Nigeria cannot accomplish today without paying the white man. Something must be wrong somewhere. Now let's compare... Are you aware that the nuclear bomb world powers are fixated on today was first muted and so originated from Germany? Even missile technology that gave birth to space technology and the jet engine? Yet when the Allies defeated Germany, they embraced these technology from the defeated Germans and consolidated it? But in Nigeria, all Igbo war technology was buried probably under the supervision of the British colonialst. Why? They see Africans as subhumans who should never rise to counterbalance their global dominance.

Why are Africans different? Why is Africa the only continent where all it's wealth serves the interest of white man's greed? Why don't Africans ask themselves why a white man should come to Africa and take her gold, silver, diamond, crude oil, gas, copper, cobalt and other non replenishable resources and leave the black man with paper the same white man prints in his country? In summary, the reason is that most African tribes are not really intelligent, MOST. That's why theor natural inclination aligns with the white man's policy of suppression of the few who are and so ask the right questions.

I'll leave you with the story of Japan. As early as the 16th Century, the Portuguese were already in Japan, but could get nothing out of the country. This was the same time Africans were already selling one another to the white man for mirrors and gin. For more than 200 years, Japanese refused to trade with the Europeans. In fact, they insisted that what they wanted was guns while the Europeans wanted to fool them the way they fooled Africans. After decades of frustration, the Portuguese ambassador to Japan wrote a letter to the king of Portugal and asked that the king reconsider the policy and trade on Japanese terms. A Japanese Shogun bought a few European-made guns and the shogungate studied how the guns were made and started making their own guns. In less than 20 years, there were more guns in Japan than there were in all of Europe that no European army dared tried to colonize Japan.

I earlier mentioned the letter the Portuguese ambassador wrote to the Portuguese king. Are you aware that at that same time that African tribes such as Benin empire also had Portuguese ambassadors? Let me tell you how the ambassador signed off the letter. Marginally rendered, he wrote "... this is not Africa."

Two of the five most intelligent African tribes suffered genocides. Is it mere peer tribe jealousy or the hand of the colonialists?

Foreign AffairsThe Next Iran-israel War Would Be Like ... (photo) by Igbophobia(op): 12:51am On Jun 26, 2025
Those worst-hit by the recent Iran-Israeli war were arguably the highest-ranking Iranian generals. As ironic as it it, it has clearly laid a precedent in the art of war. Never have we witnessed a nation's top generals wiped out within hours of commencement of combat. In fact, Europe and Middle East have not been as interesting since Napoleon marched to Moscow. This got me thinking how the next Iran-Israeli war would pan out. As macabre as the thought is, it is not out of place considering the hard stance of each nation and considering the fact that the precursors that caused the war are still very much in place.

These are;

1) Iran still has a hardline terror-loving regime in place.
2) The regime still is anti-Israel and would want to hurt the Jewish state if it could.
3) Israel would never permit Iran to own nuclear weapons.
4) Iran may still be in possession of 60% enriched Uranium.
5) If they are, Israeli Mossad is still keeping an eye on them to determine when they would try to enrich to weapon grade.

So the next Iran-Israel war is not a matter of if, but when. Of course unless the present regime is overthrown soon.

This brings me to how the next war could play out. If you've watched the movie Unforgiven, remember when Eastwood said Any man who doesn’t want to get killed, get out the back.”

Now imagine the Israeli Defense Forces delivering a similar message—“To any Iranian commander who wants to live, resign before the first drone takes off.”
And the result could be chaos in the Iranian military even before the first shot is fired.

They have lost that bargaining power. The war is now mainly for ego and nothing more. All their threat to Isreal and USA has become mere words. No China, no Russia and no North Korea joining them as boasted by Iran supporters if US strike Iran. No World war III. Religious terrorists over rating their sponsor. Nobody will go into world war because of Iran.
That's what they don't understand. Even if half of Iran is destroyed, no one would do anything just the way no one did anything when Gaza was levelled. Israel's objectives of halting Iran's nuclear program has been achieved. I'm sure the remaining fissile materials which is 60% enriched isn't safe anywhere else aside the complex built for enrichment. What more, it may even fall into the hands of mossad if the Iranians aren't careful. Rebuilding an enrichment project would take decades and any attempt to enrich to weapon grade would be met with another war as long as Israel is concerned. They're even lucky Trump is a pacifist republican. Otherwise, this war would have lasted until Iran is ruined. They better de-escalate at this time to avoid that.

The report emphasized the seriousness of Iran’s current situation, noting that Khamenei’s son Mojtaba, once rumored to be a frontrunner, is not among the named successors.
The man doesn't want stories that touch. He knows Israel is doing promo of Buy One Get 2 FREE. That his son could become history even before him if he names him a successor. Interestingly, Israel has a weird sense of humor and may even eliminate the three successors the same day to confound the old man even more.

PoliticsRe: Does Nigeria Have Ballistic Missiles by Igbophobia: 11:52am On Jun 19, 2025
DeathParade:
People always seem to underestimate the power of a large, motivated Infantry heavy force. In this era of non contact warfare and multi domain ops, its easy to overlook.
But just how the Russo Ukrainian war turned conventional expectations of modern warfare on its head (conventional expectations like modern wars are going to be short and swift) in a similar manner, this trend of underestimating large Infantry forces, even if without force multipliers, will reverse the day an actual war breaks out near you.

A motivated Infantry force can be devastatingly hard to overcome. And you can't win a war without Infantry. Keep a close eye on Iran Israel conflict. Unless there is a ground invasion into Iran, there will be very little long term change in the nature of that nation. And good luck invading Iran on the ground, that geography is no Iraq.

Similarly, unless Nigeria plans on imperial expansion, a good, strong infantry force should be its bedrock. And it rightfully is so. Destroyers and Attack Helicopters are secondary. And Ballistic Missiles are tertiary concerns from a force planning perspective.
A large infantry without a superior technology is a meat grinder. Russia could withstand Germany not just because of a large army but also a robust industrial complex that immobilized the Germans.

Iraq had a large army but lacked the technology to halt the west. So the large infantry simply dissolved. A motivated infantry can hurt not stop invaders only through a guerilla warfare as seen in Vietnam and Afghanistan but at immense cost. Even such motivation is possible only in countries with homogeneity and not an amalgam like Nigeria whete tribe comes before country.

BreconHills:
Why should Nigeria have ballistic missiles? Those are long range missiles.

Is Nigeria planning to attack Egypt, Algeria or South Africa?

Only the United States, Russia, China, France, India, the United Kingdom, Israel, and North Korea have ballistic missile programs. You could add Egypt possibly. Of the countries listed only North Korea and Egypt do not have nuclear weapons.
North Korea has ballistic missiles as well as nuclear weapons.

As someone rightly pointed out, ballistic missiles in the hands of Nigerian military would be dangerous. If it doesn't fall into the hands of Boko Haram, bandits may commandeer it. Even if it's still with the military, it would be used against Nigerian community, especially in the south and middle belt. If you're from thes two regions and still believe you have a country, you'll learn soon enough.

Some of you post like you're children of twelve. You don't really get it. Trump is joining because he saw how easily Israel finished Iran. The reasons are:

1) Iran is an immensely rich country and the traditional Whiteman's greed in Trump won't allow him bypass the opportunity to loot the country after Ayatollah's regime collapses. Even the UK and EU would want a cut of the deal. It is their window of opportunity to deprive Russia of that privilege they've enjoyed for decades.

2) Trump is aware that Israel cannot put boots on ground or contractors in Iran. That would anger the Arab world and more, Israel doesn't have that capacity to hold unto Iran on ground. Even America doesn't. So Trump and his horde of greedy capitalists would instal a pro-West government and then bleed Iran dry from there.

3) Israel would want the cost of the war borne by Iran. Trump's US would partly front for Israel in this regard through more military and financial aid behind-the-scene, but in reality, the real people paying for it is Iran.

So Trump is eager to join the war to loot Iran, not necessarily to help Israel because Israel is comfortablly on top of the game here.

That's a very naive foreign minister. Being from an Islamic theocracy I'm not surprised. What he failed to understand is that it is already too late for Iran and her government because the focus of the Europeans and the americans is now the spoils of war. Unless a people understand the traditional Whiteman's greed, they would be at a loss on how to deal with them. The ayatollah simply played into the West's trap by provoking Israel to the point of war. France, UK, US and and other close allies are like vultures at the moment waiting for the downfall of the regime to swoop down for the loot. While Spain would be kicking themselves for not siding with Israel during the Gaza operation. The whole essence at this time is to grab Iranian resources from Russia and China. The same Trump he is calling on would be in charge using the pretext of his partnership with Bibi. a scenario that Israel wouldn't mind at all since they wouldn't want the angst of the arab world by being seen to be among the vultures in Iran. Behind the scene, Trump would pay Israel for the cost of the war with more aids in arms deals while all that would be money stolen from the Iranians. The losers? Iran. The consequence of permitting narrow-minded people into positions of leadership.

I have a lot more to say, but the fact is, people on all sides have their already formed opinions, and people who would in one context shout against bigotry are openly endorsing it...I mention no names....are now endorsing it.

What I see here is that people have refused to accept that times have changed, and when they change, we change accordingly. Doing things the same way because it was done 500 years ago, does not mean we should keep doing things the same way today. But the annoying thing is people are not ready to listen.

Also, there is a game here being played. No, the gamemaster is not in the West or imperial powers, so let's get that out. All I am going to say is...it is a game that has been played, and is being played. A game fuelled by hatred and by bitterness, and by people who should know better, and much better. It's a subtle game, and everyone's playing, and everyone is guilty.

All in all, if people don't learn from the two points I have put out here, one day, we are going to wake up with millions dead, and UN Peacekeepers running the show. And we still won't learn the lessons.

Like we too like hate, we human beings. And let me say this....to many people on this site like to hate each other, and there is an epidemic of hate on this site...to the point that it is keeping people blind to real issues, and preventing them from discussing real solutions.

Well, I am going to say...keep on hating each other y'all. I won't try to stop you. Keep on hating. Then one day ye all shall face the law of consequences.

Good night.

PoliticsRe: How Do Fulani Catch Everyone By Surprise? by Igbophobia:
You don't seem to get it. The reason Nigerians cannot unite against the Fulani onslaught is that they have been pre-programmed to believe that the real threat facing them comes from Igbo. This is why these same Tiv people joined the Fulani and Hausa and others to massacred hundreds of fleeing Igbo families who escaped from the north in '66. These same Benue people being slaughtered like Salah rams today would forget what happened to them in a few days if they're presented with one reason to make Igbo the scapegoat. In fact, just say Igbo or Biafra and see how they would automatically realign with the Fulani because on a general note, the hatred most Nigerians have for Igbo is stronger than their survival instinct.

Remember that the 'Where are the cows? Is Evans a herdsman?' crooner is now the C-inC. Did you notice how he slipped in Igbo? He knows the hatred for the tribe unites most Nigerians. Did you see how they have started complaining about Igbo buying land in their SW region? It is a spontaneous response typical of Nigerians to deflect their insecurities on Igbo because the country is concept of a people (British) who have acute hatred for Igbo. Reason? While other tribes in Nigeria succumbed to British rule in days or weeks, even the so-called empires, for nearly three decades the Igbo were resisting the whiteman's rule.

Benue people, the MB and the rest of natives in Nigeria cannot see what calamity has befallen them because like most African tribes, they believe Nigeria is now their HERITAGE, not understanding that they actually have no say over their destinies, but are like slaves in a slave ship with the slave master's foreman in charge. Even the Fulani knows that all they need to do is keep most Nigerans pursuing rat (Igbo hate) while their houses (heritage/land) is taken from them. It's just a matter of time.

Let me finally state here that of all the tribes in Nigeria, only the Fulani and Igbo think strategically. The rest are typical africans incapable of strategic insight. How do I know? While Fulani are bent on conquest, Igbo are bent on exit because they know what the Fulani plans. The rest are complacent. Do you know why? They're living for today - sharing free money from oil. Interestingly in the next few decades, most would be sharing it from IDPs.
