Madamspeaker:You are not entirely correct, Unizik actually moved fully to the permanent site around 2004 under Prof Ilochi. Infact, the first time i visited unilag, i was very disappointed, dilapidated structures every where, congested buildings with no space. The reality is that most of the structures in unilag currently were built many years back. Infact unilag is over rated. But seriously speaking, Unizik is one the fastest growing second generation university in Nigeria. I can assure you that the rate at which Unizik is growing is faster than that of Unilag considering when both of them started and access to funds. It is worthy of note that Unizik has not been given the 500 million naira take off grant promised them by the federal government under IBB in 1992, which other universities received. The west and the core north have set a very bad precedence. I do not think they understand the future implications. What many nigerians forget is that despite the fact that many parts of the north did not support Gej in 2011, the north still produced the senate president and speaker and no zone was marginalised.The north was infact, given many key appointments while Gej who appointed few of his people was being blackmailed. Buhari and Tinubu has just dug their pit, i do not expect a stable national assembly throughout his tenure. 1 Like |

geeez: And these are the reasons why Nissan is opening an assembly plant in Lagos and not Abuja?Lagos does not contribute one-tenth of what FG spends on security, so stop misinforming the public. Lagos is at a prime position as a result of concentration of projects by FG over the years, so the natural place for investors to go to would be lagos. Lagos has benefited more from FG investor drive because of its location fullstop. |
